"I'm an abra," Cello replied, sighing in relief. "It's so nice to know that you're a mareep. When I caught sight of your color I was a little worried for a bit. How many others are there in this herd? Um. Flock?"

" I don't know, I'm new to here too," said Carni. " And..." He looked around the flock. There looked to be twenty-odd sheep in all. " I don't know. A lot."

Mm. Could be good could be bad. That depended on the number of predators and how the flock was set up. He would need permission to stay here long, and some species were rabidly weird about the idea of male pokemon of any species hanging around. Honestly, he wasn't even interested in the needs of his body as long as it didn't die on him. The mental landscape was so much more facinating.
"Sounds pretty good. Carni, do you know who I have to talk to in order to hang around? I don't want to step on anyone's toes, and I'll be here at least until my headache stops."

The baby orange Mareep was terrified by the Abra, having never seen one. He squeaked in distress and hid behind Bailey. "Eee!" he peeped. After a moment, he peered back at the little psychic fox and gawked at him, not knowing what to say, if anything at all.

"An abra....are you like psychic?" asked Rallin. The other mareep ramling eyed Cello with curiousity. He wondered what he was doing here. Sure this was a flock of strange ampharos, flaaffy, and mareep, but an abra.."I'm Rallin," he added to sound nice.

" I think it's okay if you just behave and all that," said Carni. He didn't see why they wouldn't let him stay.

Cello relaxed, laying back. "Great then. No one trample me please, I'm fragile. Psychics like me care more for the internal workings, and the mysteries of the mind. We'd rather not deal with the petty concerns of the body, like broken bones and that sort of thing."
He smiled to himself. That sentence had sounded good. Full of importantance and something that should be respected, but also it had a twist of humor at the end. He'd have to remember that one, he really would.

"Mysteries of the mind?" asked Lilly. The miltank calf was a little confused by Cello's words. She tried to figure out what he meant, but there was too much meaning in his sentence. "Huh?" she said as she tried to figure it out again but failed.

((So much meaning that there is none, lol. ^^ Intelectual arrogance is so fun to mock.))
"Uh," Cello had expected everyone to think his statement wise and profound, and not question it. He was uncertain how to answer, as what his statment said, in plain speech was basically: "I'm lazy and I like to snoop around in other people's minds." Which was not exactly the kind of message he wanted to give out.
"Well, it basically means that, well, I'm a psychic and a prefer to spend pretty much all my time disconnected from my body, if I can help it."

"Umm ok," said Lilly. The calf still didn't understand, but that was life for ya. "Are you lost? Do you have a family? Oh and I'm Lilly if I didn't say that already."

Cello chuckled at Carni's remark. That had been pretty close to his own experience waking up this morning. "Yeah, I don't care about my body, but I definitely care for my body. I woke up this morning with a houndour sniffing my leg. If he had known what I was I might be missing some of those bones altogether. That's sortta why I made the crash landing here. But in answer to Lady Lily, no, I'm not lost. I'm always exactly where I want to be."
He thought that the "Lady Lily" was a good bit. It made him sound cultured, and there was no harm in giving out compliments.

"Where did you come from?" asked Rallin when Cello gave Lilly one of those annoying answers. "And how did the houndour not know you were like.." he shivered. "..dinner?" He knew preds would eat anything they could get their disgusting jaws around. "How'd you escape?" The ramling was really curious.
"Lady Lilly," muttered Lilly to herself. "I like that."

Well, he was about to let onto trade secrets, here. But, what was the harm? It was a bunch of silly (and not so silly) sheep. They probably wouldn't remember in a few gereations, and those few generations happened so quickly for non-psychics.
"I got lucky, I guess. The 'dour had no idea what I was, psychics try to stay out of sight. Out of sight, out of mind, after all. Curiosity saved this cat," the abra admitted. "I can't sense dark types when I'm asleep. They just don't exist. But you do wake up when something is breathing on your face, and I just reacted. I teleported as far away as I could, and ended up here with an over extention headache."

"Oh," said Rallin. "That's weird." He'd never known a predator to not eat something in its face..maybe it had been a dumb houndour. The mareep stretched and wondered something. Cello had said he was a cat. So was he a predator? "You're a cat? Does that mean you hunt?" He knew zangoose did. He'd only heard of them, but most said they were cats as well.

"Only if I had to," the abra raised one stick thin arm. "You see this body? Abra stand about as much chance being killed as any so called prey do. When the body has to eat I feed it. Mainly berries. But I once ate some bugs. And leaf mold, but that was a really bad time of year," he shook his head, speaking quickly, hoping all these "prey" pokemon wouldn't get the wrong idea.
"Look, it's different for psychics. Most of us are psychic first and rats/cats/dogs second. Abra don't really take eating as a big important thing until we evolve, and I don't know what kadabra eat. Probably fish. They don't think back at you, or at least they're so different from land folk that they don't think the same, so it's not as easy to get trapped in their minds," he shivered.
Of course, he wasn't certain about everything he was saying. He knew in a vague sense that as abra grew older and more psychically confident they began to wake up more often, and use their bodies in preparation for evolution. Personally he couldn't think of anything more boring. But, that could mean that abra hunted when they reached that stage.
He didn't think he would be able to stand hunting mammals. He spent half off his time piggy-backing around inside different minds, and who would want to eat someone they had just spent the previous day being? Besides he was probably smaller than the small mareep that shouted: "eek" upon his arrival. What could he hunt? Minature rattata?

" Can you read my mind?" said Carni, looking at the abra. He was wondering just how powerful this psychic was. Psychic powers were really a mystery to him.

"If I was asleep and didn't have a massive headache right now," the abra replied. "To be honest, I'd probably already be looking around right now. It's so much nicer to use senses that don't need constant readjustment."

Carni nodded, but inside he was like WOW. Reading minds was pretty incredible. " Well,I'll go to sleep probably when you do, so I guess...you'll be reading my dreams or something."

"Ehhh," Cello didn't want to admit the fact that there were some limits that the totally complete and awesome realm of psychicsm could not over step, however, on of the few curses of being psychic, an untainted one, at least, was that lying was very, very uncomfortable, and Cello had been crossing into the no-mans land of ommission far to often today. "Well, it's more like when my headache goes away. Until then, I might as well stay awake," this from someone who hadn't oppened his eyes since first being spotted by the black mareep. "I really, really teleported farther than I should have. It takes a lot of energy to move things through space. It's like when," he tried to think of a suitable example, "you've been using your thundershock for too long, or too much."

"Can anyone learn how to read a mind?" asked Lilly, not sure she wanted the abra to know her thoughts, or anyone for that matter. Her thoughts were pretty private and she didn't want psychics just looking into her mind for fun.

" You have to be a psychic to do that," said Carni. " Or, some spirits can read your thoughts. And if you think bad things about someone too much, bad things might happen."

"Yeah..we were kinda wrapped up," appologized Rallin. Furiko was so shy..he wondered why. "So..what's up with you Furiko?" He felt he had to talk to the rhyhorn.

"Like what?" asked rallin. The mareep ramling couldn't help being curious, especially about the rust colored rhyhorn.
