Duran led Moon into a dark, thick area of the forest. He sensed there was less traffic in here, and that they could probably dig out a good den with minimal chance of being attacked. Plus he liked dark shadowy places. "This feels about right. Do you agree?"

Her eyes were flashing rapidly from silver to red, displaying pain and tiredness. She heaved again and her water broke.

Duran watched, feeling rather helpless. "Um..I guess just do what comes natural at this point." He licked her cheek, not knowing how to comfort her, but wanting to.
ooc: my pup will be a male hybrid, a Poochpix. lol

in: Moon smiled and layed down and pushed.
Soon a litter of 4 pups were born, 2 males and 2 females. She cleaned them and alowed them to suckle. Moon looked at her mate and nuzzled the pups.

"Wow," said Duran. "They're beautiful, Moon. You okay? You did good." He helped clean them off and get them nursing.
One of them, looking a little like a poochyena with three tails, began nursing vigorously.

Luke was walking through the thick Thicket. 'I guess thats why it is called the Thicket..." he said to himself. He was unknowingly about ten feet away from where the new family was. Luke sighed and began to sing in the most beautiful, yet still manly voice:
Praise for the high tide
Praise for the seaside
Praise for the sun at high noon
Praise for the lightning
Praise for the singing
Praise the father sun
And sister moon
Praise for the red dawn,
Grass that we walk upon,
Praise for the river's whispered tune.
Praise for the wind brother,
Praise for the earth mother.
Praise the father sun,
And sister moon...
After hearing the small echo of his voice he repeated the song again. It was something else he had remembered from his past.

ic: Duran's ears turned sideways. The poochyena thought he had heard someone approaching nearby. He remained still, hoping that whoever it was did not find them, but if they did, Duran would be ready to defend his new family.

in: Luke sighed. He had been alone for so long, that he usually sang to himself. In his clan, it would be considered a wish, a luliby, or even just a lonely song to sing when no one was around. Luke then sang the song again, but this time, it was even more beautiful, full of emotions of saddness, love and lonelyness.

Duran decided that he wouldn't hide anymore. The other pokemon had not gone away, he was still howling out there, Duran decided to confront him since the other canine must know they were here.
"I'll be back as soon as possible, Moon..you rest while I deal with the intruder." The large poochyena stepped out of his den towards the still-much-bigger ninetales. He looked up at him. "Who are you and why are you here?"

Luke was startled and whipped around. He looked around 'above' Duran before looking down.
"My name is Luke...and I don't know why I'm here...now let me ask you the same question...who are you and what are you doing here..." Luke questioned.

"I live here, this is my territory, mine and my mate's," said Duran. The ninetales was bigger...but Duran was close to evolving, and he knew it. "Why don't you know why you're here? Are you lost?"

ooc: ok but then please use a vulpix pic for him or no pic because otherwise ppl will assume he's a ninetales.
ic: Duran looked at the vulpix carefully. Moon had said she'd wanted a companion in their pack, though Duran had been opposed to it. any others would be unrelated to them and therefore why would they want to help raise the pups? What was in it for them? "Then are you hunting? Are you a refugee from the Horde?"

[ Luke is probably going to evolve soon...maybe by fluke he'll find a Fire stone nearby...lol...and im sorry about the pic...im still trying to find a good Vulpix pic...]

ooc: Sure, he can find a fire stone nearby if you want him to. Or he can have an adventure going to the stone caverns.
ic: "I did answer your question, I already said that I'm here because I live here," said Duran. "With my mate. And I don't like to repeat myself, especially not for idiots." He had been tolerant before, but now his patience was wearing thin. Duran was highly territorial by nature and he was doing his best to accomodate this pokemon only because he thought it might please his mate.

Now Duran was a little intrigued. Could Luke be aligned with the forces such as what drove the Horde or countered it? "Drawn to it? Like...how?" He sat down, no longer feeling as threatened.

"I didn't say I didn't want to now did I?" Luke replied. "The truth is, is that I have never been with others for long...I thought I had a friend...until she gave into Artenis and her clan..." Luke said mostly to himself, but of course being so close to another, he could obviously hear too.
