Luzia looked around but saw nothing in the immediate area to eat. She would have to make her way over to the nearest berries. On sticklike legs, she got up, trembling with weakness. She began to make her way slowly towards the heady smell of sweet berries. "All right."

Luzia let herself crumble back onto her stomach. Her legs lay every which way. Her flanks were hollow and her ribs stuck out. She still looked on the brink of starvation. "I'm sorry I'm so weak...so horrible looking."

Luzia struggled not to fall off this time. Her body was so light, it was eery to pick her up. Her bones could be felt so sharply, and being an espeon, she was lightly built to begin with, that it felt like her bones would break so easily if Omega handled her too roughly. "Thank you..."

Luzia began eating as many berries as she could. She ate till she felt a little over full. She remembered what Chunga had said about not eating too much, but couldn't restrain herself. "I feel a lot better now...thanks."

"Well...that all depends," said Luzia. "This is the first time I'm on my feet again at all. I can probably only go a short while...I just don't feel strong enough to walk more than a few steps. I keep getting dizzy. I could wait here...if you want to go and speak to her?"

Luzia made her dizzy, staggering way to the trickling stream she'd heard nearby and dipped her muzzle to lap up some water. She lapped for a good minute or so then lay down to rest where she was. "Yeah....it's going to take me some time to gain back all the weight." And even then, she'd be a small espeon. Her rough life had stunted her growth.

Sombra lay over Luzia's resting body. He looked at her with mixed feelings of pity and love.

Days later, Luzia had gained some weight and was able to walk around and begin to feed herself, at least with regards to berries. She no longer became dizzy so easily. "I feel better now," she said one day to Sombra. "If you're ready to, we can go see Charna now."

ic: Luzia followed Sombra, though not too quickly. She soon grew tired, as this was the first walk she was taking in a very long time that wasn't just over to the next berry bush.
