After the salamence had finished eating the unfortunate teddiursa, he took off for good, leaving Chunga and the luxio safe.
"That was quite the escapade," said the luxio, "My name's Verrou, by the way."

"Uh...yeah. Hi Verrou," said the portly furret. "Name's Chunga. I dunno quite where I come from...but I'm here now and that's all that matters." He looked up at where the dragon had been. It was gone. "Well, looks safe to come out."

"I come from the downs," replied Verrou.

"The down?" said Chunga. "Uh, what downs?"

"They're seemingly endless fields," replied Verrou, "Not too far from here, actually."

"You like it there? Or didja come out here for a change of scenery?" said Chunga.

"The short story is, I travel," replied Verrou with some tears in his eyes.

In the distance, Sombra appeared with a thin espeon on his back. He set her down next to a bush not far from Chunga and Verrou. He grabbed a few berries from a bush and presented them to her, "You're skin and bones. Eat these. You need some meat on you. I'm going to look for a pond. I'm sure some melting snow left behind at least a puddle," said Sombra as he darted off to find the espeon some water.

Luzia began to eat the berries, first just one, then more as her hunger suddenly activated itself. "More," she whispered, lying where she was.
She felt dizzy constantly. It was all she could do to stay conscious.
ooc: no matter what i may have happen, don't worry, i wont kill her.

"Aha!" exclaimed Sombra as he found a puddle in the ground, left by the winter snow. He ran back to Luzia to alert her. "I've found a puddle," he said, "Oh, my, you've eaten the berries. You must be hungry," he continued as he picked six more berries, "That should be good. When you're done, I'll take you to the puddle for a drink."

"Thank you...thank you." Luzia ate the berries, and soon felt full...but not for long. She suddenly felt violently ill. She began to retch uncontrollably, and vomited forth the berries that she had eaten.
"Whoa, another starving pokemon...what're they, falling from the sky?" said Chunga, waddling over to see who the new arrivals were. He looked at Luzia. "well i dunno much but you're at death's door. If yer gonna get better you can't just gorge after not eating anything for days and days. Yer stomach's supersensitive and all the insides are all out of whack. You need to eat something that'd be easy to digest."

Verrou followed behind Chunga, his eyes widened, "Sombra!"
"Good to see you again," replied Sombra before turning to Chunga, "What would you suggest that she could eat?"

"Berries are fine, provided they ain't poisonous, maybe with a lil bitta meat. Just in little bits. She can't eat a huge amount, her system's a mess, it'd be overload," said Chunga.
Luzia looked at Sombra with a mixture of despair and love. He had saved her, but what was she to him but a dying burden?

"Where am I going to get meat?" asked Sombra. He was willing to go to great measures to save Luzia. He felt obligated to help her because they shared the same species. Not only that, but Sombra was infatuated by her.

"Well...there's a lotta berries growing round here. That might mean there's pretty good hunting round these parts," said Chunga. "If'n you want I can wait here and keep an eye on her while you kill somethin'. "
"Just...don't bother...I'm going to die anyway," said Luzia. She closed her eyes, though not to die...not yet.

"You're not going to die!" exclaimed Sombra as he rushed off in search of a meal for Luzia. He crawled under the bushes to remain unseen. Eventually, he came upon a pidgey. He pounced it with an iron tail. The pidgey fell unconscious. Sombra finished it off with a take down. He took it back to Luzia. "I killed a pidgey for you," said Sombra, "Now eat up."

Luzia was aware enough to sense his desperation. She realised that if she died, she would let this wonderful pokemon down. He clearly wanted her to live so badly...did he feel the same way she felt about him?
"Thank you." She began to tear at the pidgey and consume some of the meat. It was hard to moderate herself, but she tried not to eat the whole thing.

"Eat, you can't afford to lose any more weight at this point," said Sombra.

"Don't push her to eat too much at a time," said Chunga. "She eats too much at once it's all just going to come back up again."
Luzia wanted to please Sombra, so she ate a little more off the pidgey.

"You should wash some of that down," commented Sombra, "Get on my back, I'll take you to the puddle."

"Water...I'm...so thirsty." Luzia had actually been reduced to drinking her own urine sometimes in the dungeon. That had only made her more ill, though it had probably saved her life.
"I'll carry ya to the water," said Chunga. "Be easier for me." He picked up the bony espeon, she was so skinny it was a miracle she was actually alive.

Chunga followed Sombra to the puddle and when they arrived, he laid Luzia carefully down next to it. "She might need some help with this."
"Water..." Luzia struggled to move, to get her head close enough to the water to drink.

Luzia delicately yet desperately lapped at the water. She lapped at it for a long, long time, so thirsty she couldn't help it.

"Better," said Luzia in a still-weak voice. She lay there feeling full of water, it was a wonderful feeling. She still feared she would die, though. "I hope I don't die."

The espeon had to pause a few moments to gather the strength to speak. "I'm Luzia," she said to him.
