Pax nodded to Nura with a heart smile. It was a good race, he told himself, and he'd take what he learned then into the next one. The foal returned to the rest of their group, catching something about rocks and trees, but remained quiet. He was embarrassed to have lost, but knew it was worth it.

"Desert..?" Pax blinked. They must have been talking about where to head to next. "Whenever you're all ready." said the Ponyta. These foothills gave off an air of creepiness that he wasn't fond of. Maybe this 'desert' would be better.

"Yeah," said Chiller. "We're heading to the desert..Ace had some evolution dream or something and there are these places we have to go," she explained. It was getting towards dark now. "How bout we start off tomorow morning?" She hated traveling at night, especially this close to the Fortress.
"Well it'll be warm there," said Nura. She, like Chiller, missed the volcano's warmth. "Ok. Next stop, the desert."

"Sounds like a plan," smiled the foal. And with that, Pax searched around for a spot to sleep in. He found a patch of grass and promptly curled up in it, tucking his head into the cool grass. His flames lowered to a harmless level as he began to fall asleep. Within minutes the Ponyta had drifted off.

Nura grazed a little bit near Pax before she let her head droop down and let her legs lock into sleeping position. Her black flames died to small embers on her back and let herself drift into a pleasant sleep.

Sepheroth crawled into the log that he had been in earlier. That Chiller was strong. He never met a Charmander that strong. He had met Charmeleons, so she must be close to evolving. He closed his eyes and jumped into the deep end of sleep.

Chiller stretched, seeing everyone was off to bed. The lava rock colored charmander curled up in the tall grass and wrapped her tail flame around her body. She enlarged her scarlet flame to keep herself warm. Summer or not, she'd never get used to the lack of warmth the world gave off away from the volcano.

Ace was not tired at all during the night. "Cursed ceremony," he whispered. He looked over at where Mim had been sleeping for a long time. He crept silently over to Pax. Ace shook hima little, just so he could tell him something.

'I don't think hes gonna wake up. Hes been sleeping this whole time.I know how hard this is." And indeed, Ace did. Mim was the only other person, except Pax, that had left the herd.

Pax recalled the events that had befallen them. He stared at the ground, not knowing what Mim's fate would bring. The Ponyta was, after all, still a kid. He decided to not think about it, whatever it was. "Oh." seemed to be the only thing he said before nodding in agreement with Ace, then putting his head back down. He just wanted to sleep, then forget.

Chiller slept well curled in a tight ball of flames. She'd let her flame practically devour her body. It kept her warm, and she made sure to keep the big flames off the grass.

Chiller awoke to dawn easily. She'd slept well last night with her flame covering her whole body. "Good morning," the charmander chirped. She was ready to go. "Wake up guys!"

Pax squinted his eyes, tasting his mouth absent-minded. "Good morning everyone..." spoke the foal. He stretched his legs, neck, and even ears, until he was fully standing again. Soon he wouldn't be able to sleep while laying down, and like Nura would snooze standing up. But for now the foal enjoyed the morning and waited for others to awaken.

"Hi Pax," said Chiller. "Ready to move?" She bounced on her heels. She sure was. On the volcano she had always ran about all day and yesterdays lazy day had made her extra excited to head to the desert.
Nura lifted her head and shook her head as she gave a big yawn. Her black flames grew as she awoke until they were normal balmy size that blew calmly in the light summer wind. She stretched her front legs first, and then her back legs. She let out a small snort and then smiled around. "Morning guys," she said.

"So we leaving soon?" asked Chiller. "Err once we've all had breakfast, I guess. I'll see ya guys in a bit..think I'm gonna catch me some breaky."

"Well what about what the rest of us think?" said Nura. "We'd rather you be cheeful, Ace. Ace, Ace, Ace." She grinned at him. He was funny.
CHiller slipped away from the group and found herself stalking the scent trail of a spearow. She saw the lone bird and took a nice pounce on it. It was too slow. It had spread its wings, but the charmadner had already locked her claws into it and sunk her teeth into its neck. She gave it a death bite and then ate it slowly before returning to the group. "Hi. What'd I miss?"

"Not much," said Pax. "Ace just being his usual self... if we're all ready, we should head out while the day is still young." he suggested. He'd never seen a desert before, let alone heard of one. This would be interesting.
