Chiller led her friends east and away from the volcano, her home. The lava rock colored charmander had soon led them to comfortable hills rolling benath the western mountains. The spring sun beat down on the group. It was an odd group. Chiller a grey black speckled charmander, Ace a naetoru, Pax a ponytah, and Mim a mime jr.
"so," said Chiller, stretching her arms and yawning. "This more to your taste Ace?"

"Hehe I guess you'd think so," said Chiller with a grin and a giggle. "We're in the Eastern foothills. Kinda near the Fortress...but not too close to it," she explained. "It's a nice place I think...not nearly warm enough for me though." After living at the volcano all her life she felt extremly cold being away from it.

"The Fortress," said Chiller. "Where the Horde lives." The charmander wondered if Ace knew about the Horde. Maybe an absol from the Horde had caused him trouble and that was why he was so into absols.

So he didn't know the Horde. That was all right. "They're a group of evil shadow Pokemon that are convinced that their job is to make the world miserable. They rape, they turn Pokemon shadow. That's about it. A nasty bunch, but nothing we can't avoid," explained Chiller. The chars always avoided the shadow Pokemon so she figured they weren't the giant threat that they really were.

"Then we'll move," said Chiller, as if it were obvious. But being so close to the shadows' home was a little awkward. But strangly, the normal dark and dangerous feeling that coursed out from the Fortress was not as strong as it had used to have been. Even at the volcanos, when Chiller had been born the darkness was always there. You could feel it. But in the last few days it had grown extremly faint. And even in the foothills near the deadly Fortress the power was weak. Little did they know that the Shadowlord had been 'killed' by Alcatraz.

"I dunno," said Chiller, slightly annoyed about Ace's 'what ifs' but not annoyed enough for it to show. "The dark feeling isn't as strong as it used to be...I don't think they'll mind use waundering around for a bit."

Chiller watched him and wondered when she'd next have to hunt. She'd probably scrape up something easy...a ratatta. It wouldn't taste great, but it wasn't like one charmander could hunt much alone.

The quiet Pax had been listening to their conversation, and suddenly found himself greatly fearing the acts of the Horde. What if they had his mother..? What if they killed Crest..? The Ponyta kept running questions through his head. They seemed to explain a lot, but he couldn't bear thinking about their behavior, only the problems they caused. By the time Ace found some food to eat, Pax lost his appetite.

Chiller nodded and yawned. Night would fall again soon and she was tired from traveling. She'd never left the volcano and as night came she missed her family's cave. She curled up in the grassy hills and felt pleased that at least they were near mountains...even if they were the wrong ones.
"Goodnight everyone," she finally said.

Chiller had thought she'd fall asleep quickly, but she didn't. She was too cold. And though the shadow was weaker than usual, it was still stronger around here than it was at home. She shivered and tightened herself together more. She grunted softly and wondered if she'd get used to being away from home.

Pax was about to fall asleep alongside the others, but noticed Chiller was.. chilly. He looked around for a bit, then trotted over to the Charmander and lay down next to her. His flames would provide the lizard with a soft heat. It wasn't much, but it was something. He looked at Chiller, then laid his head down to sleep, not saying a word.

ic: Chiller blinked her eyes open and smiled at Pax. She was warmer now with the other fire Pokemon next to her. It wasn't anywhere near as warm as her cave in the volcano, but it was better. She smiled her thanks to him and then closed her eyes to sleep.

Hours passed by over the few travelers, until the sun poked over the horizon. The previous night proved to be colder than others, noting that autumn wasn't far off. Pax refused to acknowledge the morning, as he was still tired, and hid his nose between his front legs.

ooc: It's spring lol...but it could be a cool spring night.
ic: Chiller couldn't sleep much longer. When the sun finally rose she was up and at 'em. Pax had helped the little charmander stay warmer, but that night had been horrible for her. The open land, no general heat from the volcano, and no other chars in her cave.
"Morning," she chirped, giving both Pax and Ace a nudge.
