Wandering Aimlessly

[Little John]

"Probably. I was scared for a minute that he would stay here, but you coming along means that he would probably stay too." Ace looked at Chiller. He thought of his second mission, finding out if it was Rixun that had told the herd or whatever they were called to kill Crest. " Do you know if any fire types up here were ever part of a hunting pack in the valley?"

[fya]

Chiller had been thinking that Pax might be staying as well. "Oh? Well the fire dogs come up to the volcano sometimes...we aren't on good terms with them. The charizards get mad at them when they hunt the horses so they haven't been coming up...kinda a war. We sometimes hunt in the jungle part of the valley. Sometimes the plains, but not usually. I don't go on the hunts much..I prefer grabbing ratattas and spearows and tailows up here."

[Little John]

"Oh, ok. I just sorta needed it for my reasons to go back. If I was wrong one of my reasons is gone. Do you know if these dogs have a schedule for coming up the mountain?" Ace was probably overwhelming her. Ace thought of his only other reason to go back. Lala.

[fya]

"Schedule? No." Chiller giggled. Most pokemon that were preyed upon must think that preds had specific days and such they hunted, she thought. "No preds like us hunt when were hungry. And depending how much kill we can get in one hunt depends on when we hunt next. Sometimes hunting parties are gone for days..like in winter when the prey moves."

[Little John]

"Oh. Have you ever seen an Absol?" Ace thought of the many Absol that had attacked the herd, during which Crest was killed. If there was a lone Absol they could get him to help them get info.

[fya]

"Nah," said Chiller. "Only the fire dogs from the pack come up here..err came up here. Houndoom, arcanine, vulpix, and the sort. There used to be a few entei around here...before the war between chars and dogs..but the enteis left pretty fast. Their a snobby bunch, ya know. There could be absols in the pack. Who knows." And who cares, she thought. She wondered why Ace was so interested.

[Little John]

"Ok thanks." Ace wondered if they would find an Absol in their travels. Or even better, he thought. He wondered where Kikko and his mom had gone.

[fya]

"No problem," said Chiller. The lava rock colored charmander ate another berry. She liked berries as well as meat. She chewed slowly. When she had finished, she asked, "I'm curious...why are you so interested in the pack? Did they kill your family or something?"

[Little John]

"No, but you could say they killed someone close to me." Ace looked off int the sun remembering Crest.

[Pax]

Finally, it appeared that Pax was waking up. He lifted his head in little jerks, neighing just the same. He squinted at the light of day, quickly adapting to the brightness, and opened his eyes. The Ponyta peered around the area. Most of the partiers had left, even though they'd be back. He wanted to say goodbye to Nura, but couldn't seem to spot her. With a sigh, he stood up and walked over to Ace and Chiller. "Morning..." he croaked. "What are you guys talking about?"

[Little John]

"Were talking about.......well.......Crest." Ace looked up into Pax's face.

[Pax]

The horse fell silent. He merely nodded, looked around a little more to clear his head, then looked back to them. "Are we going to head off soon? Chiller, I heard you were coming with us... That's great," he tried to sound happy. Obviously he changed the subject to stay away from the past.

[Little John]

"We would leave, but Mim is still sleeping," Ace said.

[Pax]

The foal glanced over at the Protected Mim, and snorted. "So we'll have to wait until he wakes up. Not that I mind... I'm going to eat some berries," said Pax. The Ponyta then trotted over to the bush and resumed eating the small fruits in mouthfulls.

[Penguin]

The protect soon slowly began to fade as the tired little Psychic Pokemon opened his eyes. When they were fully open he seen that the others were up. "Sorry I kept you all."

[Little John]

"Well if were all up, we might as well leave," Ace suggested.

[fya]

"It's ok," chirped Chiller. "Goodmorning to both of you. If you didn't know, Mim, I'm coming too." The charmander stretched casually. She saw some of the horses were on their way back up to the mountain. Nura was amung the.

"Hi Pax," said Nura. The filly ran out ahead over to the bush. The best grass on the mountain grew around it as well as the berries. "How long are you guys staying?"

[Little John]

"Well Nura, if we have our way, we shall be leaving in a few seconds." Ace looked at the sun to try to guess what time it was.

[Pax]

Pax looked to Nura and quickly swallowed his breakfast. "Uh... yes... Sorry, Nura," the Ponyta regretted having to go, now that he knew where others of his kind lived. "we have to leave... but... I can try to visit sometime," he tried to sound happy, ears high. "Maybe I'll see you again."

[fya]

Nura smiled at his words. "Ok. That's cool. It was nice meeting you Pax." She nudged him softly on this nose with her own nose. "Have fun." She tried to sound pleasant, but the few short moments she'd had with him made her like him. He seemed like he'd be fun to hang around. But if he was going that was fine. There were plenty of other charming colts that wanted her and she could try to warm up to them.

Chiller nodded. "Yup we're leaving soon." She looked around. "Are you guys ready?"

[Little John]

"I'm ready." Ace said, then leaned in close to whisper to Chiller. "But I don't think Pax is."

[fya]

Chiller giggled. "There's no hurry is there?" She didn't whisper this, knowing how much she hated it when people whispered. She'd be nice to Pax anyway. It was obvious that Nura had the hots for Pax.

[Little John]

"I'd rather like to get out of here before Pax gets involved to much." Ace shot a look at Chiller.

[fya]

This Chiller understood. With the hottest filly in the herd having her eye on Pax she guessed he was already too involved. Chiller had heard from Candy that Nura had turned down all the oter colts by her actions to them. And the way she was acting with Pax..it was crazy.

[Little John]

Ace knew that Chiller had gotten his message. He looked at Pax and hoped he wouldn't get too far into this before they left.

[Pax]

After several minutes of staring at the blank space Nura used to occupy, Pax snapped back into focus. Well, he'd never felt that before, that was certain. He watched the filly continue on her way, then plodded back to Ace, Mim, and Chiller, as if nothing had happened. "I'm ready," he cleared his throat.

[fya]

Chiller gave Pax a smile. Her eyes told him that she'd tell him later. "Ok," she said, "let's go. Where are you interested in going? I forgot to ask." She blushed a little. "I assume somewhere not so hot...for Ace?"

[Pax]

"Yes, that'd be best," Pax nodded. "Anywhere but where we've already been is good for me," he managed a smile, thinking about unknowns that lied in the future for them, wherever it was.

[Little John]

Ace smiled too. "And if we run into an Absol thats free, well then everyone wins!"

[fya]

Chiller laughed. "An absol will make a quick meal of both of you...if you were alone. Maybe I could scare him off...maybe." They began to descend the mountain.
