" Okay!" Lala opened her eyes and looked around. The first one she spotted was Kikko, "hiding" in a bush, only he had stuck his head and neck in and the rest of him was showing. " Found ya!" She tagged him.

ace watched Kikko getting tagged. Kikko did seem a little young and he wasn't all that good at everything.

" Ohhh." Kikko wondered how she had found him so fast. He followed Lala around now on her quest to find the others.
Lala hunted over near where Ace had gone. She couldn't help it, she had seen where he'd run off and since her herdsisters and Pax were doing such a good job hiding...she had NO idea where they'd gone...

Ace watched Lala go over to the hole he had once hid in. He didn't laugh and managed to stay quiet.

Lala sniffed at the hole, which was an abandoned burrow of some sort. There was no sign of Ace. Stamping her foot once in frustration, she continued on in that same direction, guessing that maybe he had gone on past that and hidden somewhere else.

Pax ran around searching for a good hiding place, and settled on hiding atop a flat-topped boulder that he hoped the little Tropius wouldn't be able to see over. He peered around the edge as a lookout and watched the action not far below.

Seeing the ponytah seemed happy with the tropious, Crest settled back to sleep. He needed to absorb a lot of sunlight, and sleeping was the easiest way to do it. Besides, he wasn't really one for childish games.

Ace smiled. Then he whispered in Crests ear. "What are we going to do when something really bad happens?" he asked Crest.

"What do ya mean?" replied Crest, awaking from his light solar sleep. "If ya mean the kids, they should be all right...kids work themselves out....But if ya mean the pack..damn I got no idea."

"Oh," said Crest with a nod. "Well my law of life...don't pick on them unless they start causing trouble--everyone's got a place on this planet whether we like 'em or not." He paused and thought a bit. "But if they do become a problem...I guess we'll have to fight or move with the herd." Really, Crest wasn't sure. He hadn't pondered much on the topic.

Crest nodded. "We'll figure something out," he said and then rested his head down on the grass. But the ivysaur didn't slip back into sleep immediatly. Ace had made him wonder what they would do if the pack attacked. Some of the tropious couldn't fly, and he knew that Pax couldn't be picked up and put on a tropious's back the way he and Ace probably could. So they'd either have to flee by land or fight. Fighting wasn't much of an option, they'd surely get badly injured or killed.

Ace was thinking the same thing. If only Crest and Ace were in their final evolution forms then there would be nothing to worry about......but they weren't.

With worried thoughts now, Ace got up. He stretched a bit and wondered what he could do to help with the situation. Now, the pack was quiet. But he knew that predators tended to strike when they were least exspected. So he'd train. He knew if he worked hard he could become a venesaur. He'd been an ivysaur for three long years now. His evolutionary life was slow mainly because as a bulbasaur, his owners had slowed down the speed of growing immesnely so that when they finally became venesaurs they'd be oversized from all the fat that they'd gained and never had a chance to work it off.
Annoyed with his inabilty to do much, he paced a bit. Back and forth, back and forth. He tried to think of what he could do to train. He could practise with his vine whip or his razor leaf. Or he could store more sunlight. That would be the key to evolution anyway. Lots and lots of sunlight. But training his attacks would help as well.....
It was while the children and Ace were playing hide and seek and Crest was pacing and thinking that the pack choose to hunt. A few absol and mightyena began to sneak in towards the tropious herd from all angles, barring a ground escape. Slowly, they came closer and closer to the herd. So far, they were unnoticed, as they kept to the shadows and kept their steps light and quiet.

While watching the other disgruntled children search for the Turtwig, Pax laughed inwardly, his ears high. Finally, he'd found a herd to live with. Hopefully he'd be able to find his mother again, he wondered. But when he saw Ace and Crest whispering amongst themselves, ignoring the two Tropius' play, he began to wonder what was up. The Ponyta wanted to relax and enjoy this short moment, but Crest's pacing made him worried...

Lyra's nose twitched, she picked up something in the air. The old tropius flapped her wings in alarm. " Enemies! Everyone, fly! Where's Lala and Kikko?"
" I'm here!" Afraid, Lala came running towards the herd. Nadillia and Natalya also popped out of hiding and ran to them.
" Where's Kikko?" said Kikko's mother, Auriana. " KIKKO!"
" I think I saw him run this way!" Nadillia set off towards where she'd seen him last. " Kikko! Come on out!"
Kikko was still hiding. He was frightfully close to the pack and he had just frozen, too scared to move. He heard his herdsister coming closer...

Crest whipped around. His eyes were big and the ivysaur hurried over to the adult tropious'. "Can you carry Ace and I?" He had a bad feeling that they wouldn't be able to carry Pax. He now saw the dogs creeping closer. He shivered and took a quick look for Kikko. It wasn't surprising to him that he couldn't spot the tropious child.
Seeing the panic in the herd, the dogs still crept closer. They now began to let the herd open up and they crept towards Kikko. He looked like a good target. Young and vulnerable.

" I can carry Ace...but you're probably too heavy to fly with," said Lyra, a soft look in her eyes. She didn't want to leave him behind but this was an emergency and, although they were friends and welcome to graze and play with the herd, they weren't really herd members. They were not family and her priority was her family, all of which her herd members were.
" Lala!" called Lala's mother. " Hop on!"
Lala climbed up quickly onto her mother's back and her mother flapped off, up through the trees as Lala hung onto her mother by the neck.
" Kikko!" Nadillia found Kikko amidst the bushes and a miasma of predatory scent. " Come on!" She wasn't sure if she could carry him on her back as she flew. He had grown a bit since being born, and she was still not full grown herself. She began to herd him quickly back towards the rest of the herd.

"Oh," said Crest, with a crest-fallin look. "I'll get autta here then." He knew that he shouldn't have been surprised that the tropious female couldn't carry him, but it still stung. He saw that the dogs seemened to be moving in towards Kikko. That left some space open for him to run. But he wasn't too fast....
The ivysaur moved as quickly as he could. Some of the dogs left Kikko and headed towards him. There were quite a few of them and one tropious calf wouldn't be enough anyway. But a calf and an ivysaur would be nice...

" Mommeeee!" Kikko ran in his toddling little way over to his mother, Sarrala. Sarrala got him situated on her back, where he clung onto her neck. She, too, flapped off and so did Nadillia and Natalya, after the group. That left two adult tropius on the ground. One ran to Pax. " Quick," she said, " climb on my back and I'll fly you out of here!"

It all happened so incredibly fast - the sudden rush of screams and scents, the howls... The Ponyta's nose flared and he whipped around, the scents coming from all over. He stood stiff atop the rock, watching helplessly as the other Tropius fled and searched and failed to pick up Crest. He would be left alone! Pax was about to leap off the rock when the adult Tropius spoke to him. "But... But... Crest.. I can't leave him here!" he didn't know what to do - and if he didn't act, either way, bad things would happen. The stench of predator filled the air, arousing Pax's fire to a burning blue blaze, the hottest setting. What could he do? Crest let him into the herd... the only one he'd ever been in before... "Sorry, but I have to try to help Crest," he told the Tropius, and leapt off the rock towards the Ivysaur. He ran as fast as he could - which proved to be quite fast - remembering that his kind tended to diamond-hard hooves and an agility like no other. Although he was a foal, he could at least try. (if I made a mistake... stop me!

" Oh, no," said the tropius, " you'll be killed, both of you!" Especially just a foal! Pax was going to his death...such a virtuous soul, he was.

ooc: Nope you're doing fine. ^-^ And keep in mind, I discard NPC's pretty fast unless I take a liking to them....my NPC's are mainly there to help the plot. I will be taking a tropious soon...I'm liking this thread.
ic: Crest was racing away as fast as he could. But of course, the foal was much, much faster and would soon be at his side. The ivysaur could see the dogs coming closer. It was mere seconds before he felt the first fang slice into his hard skin. He yelped and sent a flurry of razor leaves at the attacker. The teeth kept their grip though. The dog's face got a whole zap of sharp leaves in its face, but it manges to hold on until another few dogs bit in.
It was a fast death. Blood pooled around Crest and the dogs dug in, unaware of the foal racing towards them.

ooc: The self-destructing NPCs of D00M!
ic: The last tropius remained at the outskirts, giving Pax a last chance to hop on and make his escape, before he died or even had to see any more of Crest's demise.

(Ah! Okay then. =3 dramatic character scene!)
"No! Crest!!" Pax yelped as the scents boiled in the air. He could not stand it and immediately turned around, racing towards the last adult Tropius. He jumped onto its back and held on tight, eyes closed, and never looked back. What a terrible event... The Ponyta's flame lowered to a tiny orange plasma as he repressed the things around him.

The tropius quickly caught up to the rest of her flying herd. They were headed somewhere else, away from this area and towards the jungle east of here.
" I'm so sorry you had to see that," she said to Pax.

Lyra was leading them towards a jungle in the east side of the valley. She dipped down to land in a clearing in the forest.
" It was what I felt I had to do," said the tropius as she landed too.
