"Aqua! Flare! NO!" Luzia had been unable to catch her offsprings' fall. They lay there in a wounded heap. "It's all my fault, oh no, please be okay..."
Rappella ran faster than she ever had. She shot out of the den and straight towards where her siblings had landed. "FLARE! Noooo!"

Aeroth sat in the tree, cradled safely in the crook of the tree, all alone...all alone. He heard his mother crying for Flare and Aqua, but never heard his name mentioned. He felt another kind of cold, not fear, not temperature...lonliness. He wanted to be found, but he was in too much shock to to anything but shake. He really hoped the Pigeot wouldn't come back.

Suddenly, Aeroth was grabbed again. But not by the cold talons of a pidgeot, but by the warm paws of his father, "You're going to be OK, Aeroth," said Sombra as he took his son to safety.

(Don't know how a canine-like character got all the way up in a tree...or how he was found in the first place)
Aeroth felt himself lifted from from the branch and immediately struggled, only to find it was the warm fur of his father, not the feathers of the Pigeot. He instantly relaxed and let himself be taken to the ground. Once there, he snuggled deeply into the warm fur and just shivered. Aeroth happened to glance at where Aqua and Flame lay. He trodded over on shakey paws and looked on from a distance, feeling helpless.

Sombra lifted one paw and patted Aeroth on the head, "Thought we forgot you?"

ooc: Foxes have a limited ability to climb trees, actually. They can't climb them like a cat can, but if the tree has many easy to climb branches then they can often manage.
ic: Luzia picked up Flare by the scruff and carried him back into the den. She then did the same for Aqua. "My babies..." she sniffled.
Rappella followed her mother inside. "Flare!"

Flare remained motionless as his mother took him to safety.
Sombra, Volt, and Aqua followed into the den.
Sombra ran his paw over Flare, "He's breathing," he said. He moved his paw to Flare's leg. "His leg doesn't feel right," said Sombra, "I think it's broken."

(Foxes are canines. So the tree must have had easy branches to climb then...kk)
Aeroth sat there...that was exactly what he thought, they had forgotten him...who's to say they hadn't? His mother still hadn't noticed him..Aeroth sighed, he was slowly getting over his shock, and managed to walk...all alone, back to the den. Once there, Aeroth moved to the back, where no moonlight could touch him. He was a shadow within the shadows. It was his fault, if he hadn't gone to look at the sky, to sate his curiosity, Aqua would never have followed him and gotten taken, and she and Flare wouldn't be in the state they were in. He sat there, curled up with is fluffy tail over his nose, occasionally snatching a guilty glance at where his siblings lay, hoping they would get better.

"Sombra? Where is he?" Luzia was still busy getting the others into the den. "Where's Aeroth? Oh...oh, no." she looked down at Flare's leg. "If it's broken...there's nothing that we can do. It will never be the same. Sombra--Aeroth's still not here with us, where is he?" she ran out of the den, "I've got to find him, AEROTH!"
Rappella followed her mother out of the den calling him too.

Aeroth heard his name and looked up, a faint smile cracked his lips, knowing he hadn't been forgotten, but that slight smile was gone in an instant realizing there was nothing to be happy about.

"Come in, come in, everybody come IN before that thing comes back!" Luzia lashed her forked tail. She was terrified that the bird was going to attack again' it had already had the audacity to snatch a kit straight from the mouth of her den.
Rappella, seeing nothing of consequence was going on outside anymore, returned into the den to hover over Flare. "Flare," she said, hoping he would wake up. Her favourite sibling, and he wasn't moving. "Flare, you is dead?"

"Flare isn't dead," replied Sombra, "But I can't say he's alive, either."
Aqua, feeling mortified at knowing she was the cause of Flare's current condition, stood by his side as well with tears in her eyes.
Volt retreated from Aeroth and joined the rest. He seemed more angry than upset. "You know what?" he said, "This is all Aeroth's fault. If that dummy didn't go outside like a stupid-face, Aqua wouldn't go outside to check on him and they wouldn't be took by that big bad bird, and if they wouldn't be taken by that big bad bird, the big bad bird wouldn't crash, and if that big bad bird wouldn't crash, Aqua wouldn't fall, and if Aqua wouldn't fall, Aqua wouldn't land on Flare, and if Aqua wouldn't land on Flare, Flare would be OK."

"Don't blame Aeroth," said Luzia. "He didn't go outside, he only went close to outside. He listened to me. He couldn't have known that pidgeot would swoop in." she looked at her mate, "what do you mean...not dead but not alive?"
"Flare," Rappella cried over her brother.

Rappella wrenched herself away from Volt and glared at her father. "You hate me!" she howled. "You hate me and hate me and hate me and I hate you too!"
She tore off running out of the den and into the woods.
"Rappella! Come back!" cried Luzia, who took off running after her.
Rappella didn't stop.
