Luzia kept licking Aqua's face hoping tha that would cause her to wake up. "Aqua!" she called in between licks.

Aqua's eyes opened. She looked up to her mother and licked back. Her tail began to wag, but not as hyper and giddy as before.

Rappella stumbled over to Aqua and started to lick her too.

Flare and Volt decided to hop on the bandwagon and begin licking her as well.

"Okay, stop licking her," said Luzia. This was just weird.
Rappella quickly got tired of licking her, after all, it was just a bunch of fur and fur didn't taste great. It jus ttasted like nothing.

Flare and Volt backed away and curled up in the corner of the cave to sleep. Aqua soon joined them.

"If you hadn't caught her--I don't want to think about it," said Luzia. "No, it IS my fault, because if I hadn't walked out the kits wouldn't have followed me. I should have made more certain they were asleep. My talking before I left probably woke them up--because they can obviously hear things now."

Hearing Luzia speak comforted Aqua. Her ears perked up as she unsteadily made her way towards Luzia. "Mwomma," she said.

Volt had been observing the conversation. He grew jealous of Aqua for having been given so much attention. He rushed over to her with his newborn legs and nipped her on the tip of the ear.
Aqua fell to her side and began to cry as a trickle of blood dripped down her ear.

Rappella was sitting there and she saw Volt bite Aqua. She bared her just-cut canine teeth, tiny white pinpricks, and lunged at him, aiming to bite him for attacking her sister.
"Please... no biting," said Luzia. "Can you be nice to each other? Please?"

Rappella continued to bite on Volt's tail, gumming it up mostly. She growled continuously at him while she did so.

Volt turned around and nipped Rapella directly in the eye.
Flare didn't like to see his siblings fight. He rose to his feet and tackled Volt.

The nip luckily didn't get Rappella's eye itself, but it did bite into her cheek. She gave a loud, very high yip and shook him off. Then she aimed a bite at his face.

Rappella looked at her father in fright as he raised his voice. She started to cry.
"Oh..." Luzia nuzzled her crying daughter. "It's okay, please don't cry, please don't cry..."

Aqua was already crying from the pain of her ear tip being bitten by Volt. Blood continued to trickle.

Luzia licked Aqua's ear clean until the bleeding stopped. "Oh--I'm so sorry I let everything get out of control...I'm so sorry."
"BAD!" Rappella glared at Volt. "Bad!"
