Goofing Around

[Mei]

Ruby swung happily through the trees, the sound of her laughter trailing behind her and mingling with the sweet scents of the berries. She leaped into the air, turning a perfect flip before landing on the ground.
The young Chimchar gasped slightly at the impact, which was much harder than she expected. "Ouch!" For a brief second she seemed downcast. Mom would freak out if she saw me do that.
But then a smile broke across her face like the sun through clouds. Grinning happily, the irrepressible Chimchar raced back towards the trees.

[Ren]

Two small pokemon seemed to be following the Chimchar. Each made barely any noise as they watched the monkey-like fire type. "Interesting..." one seemed to whisper.

((I loooooooooove Chimchar! ))

[Mei]

((Me too! ))

Grinning happily, Ruby stopped in front of a large, rough-barked tree. Her eyes widened as she saw the huge berries clinging to the branches. 'Those look delicious!"
Crackling with excitement, the young Chimchar leaped at the tree-trunk, clinging to it with her long fingers. eyes fixed on the berries, she began to climb upwards.

[Ren]

"You're quite boring, aren't you?" a plusle said from a branch, staring down at the Chimchar. He grabbed one of the berries and threw it down to Ruby. He then took another one for himself and pulled it into two pieces. "Zac!" he called and a minum scampered up. "Thanks," the blue mouse stated, taking half of the berry.

After moments of silence, both looked back down to Ruby. "Who are you?" they asked at the same time, mouths full.

[Mei]

"Boring?" Ruby asked, slightly dazed by the sudden appearance of the two Pokemon. "I'm not boring." She grinned as she caught the berry and popped it into her mouth. "Yum!" It tasted even better than she had expected.
She chewed on the berry for a bit, and then remembered that the Plusle and Minun had asked her a question. 'I'm Ruby," she called up to them, smiling. "Who are you?"

[Pidgey]

((Hope you guys don't mind me joining in.))

Ace tucked his wings back and rushed toward the berry tree. Just when it seemed he was about to make a crash landing, he flared his wings and tail and landed neatly on a branch. Oh, Ace prided himself on his mad skills. He hopped over to a bough, heavy with berries, and began to greedily eat.

[kratos]

ooc: Hope I can join, too.

Raine walked along, looking for a decent meal. She'd found a home thanks to Aryll and Phionix's help. She found a bush where a Pidgey was eating that had more berries than you could shake a stick at and began eating.

ooc: Obviously, that takes place a bit in the future from the post in the desert.

[Pidgey]

He was so busy stuffing his beak with berries, that Ace didn't even notice the eevee's arrival. He kept making his way down the branch, and eventually bumped into something soft. He glanced over to see a pair of eyes staring at him. Surprised, he gave a loud squawk and fluttered backward, falling on his downy rump. He looked up and blinked at the eevee, unsure of how to explain himself.

[kratos]

"Um...are you...ok?" Raine asked the Pidgey. "I didn't mean to disturb you. I'll leave."

[Catheri]

(( May I join? ))

Kumo sat happily on a branch of one of the many trees in Berrygrove until she heard some voices. The lil' Pichu leapt onto a tree closer to some other pokemon. She managed to see two electric mouse pokemon.' A plusle and minun!' Kumo thought joyfully. 'Maybe they want to play!' "Hello! I'm Kumo!' She yelled to them and took a place on a branch closer to them. Then she looked down, seeinga Chimchar too. "O! Hello to you too!"

[Pidgey]

Ace picked himself up and shook the dust from his feathers. "Nah, you don't have to leave. You just...surprised me is all." He replied. He gave the eevee a friendly wink. "Let's start over. My name's Ace."

[kratos]

"I.....I'm Raine," Raine to him, a little nervous.

[Pidgey]

Ace noticed that Raine seemed a bit nervous, and he wondered why. Was it something he said? "Nice to meet you, Raine." He chirped. He picked a berry with his beak and swallowed it down. "Care for a berry?" He asked, motioning to the bunches of berries hanging from the tree boughs.

[kratos]

Raine nodded nervously, though she was starting to feel a little more confident that she could trust this Pidgey as a friend.

[Pidgey]

Ace busied himself with preening his chest feathers, for a few moments. He cast a worried glance at the three electric types. Electric pokemon usually made Ace nervous, since they were strong against his type. He hoped that these ones didn't feel like plucking him!

[kratos]

"Something wrong?" Raine asked, noticing the Pidgey's worried face.

[Pidgey]

Ace turned back to the eevee. "Nah, I'm alright." He replied. Then, a shape flying high above caught his eye, and he looked up to see a Pidgeotto soaring past. He sighed a little; he really wanted to be that Pidgeotto. He hated being so small and weak.

[kratos]

"Anxious to evolve?" Raine asked. "Don't worry. I am, too."

[Pidgey]

"Yeah, I've been training for it pretty much my whole life." Ace explained. "Eevees have many evolutions, right? What do you want to be?" He asked.

[kratos]

"I was actually kind of thinking of being a Vaporeon," she said. "That way I could breath underwater. And it does rather match my name. My name's Raine."

[Pidgey]

Ace chuckled quietly. "Yeah, that does make sense." He replied. To breath underwater, how cool would that be? As cool as it was, to Ace, nothing compared to racing through the sky at mach speeds. Someday, he would know how it felt. "Anyway, are you from around here?" He asked.

[kratos]

"Not really," Raine replied. "I used to live high up in the mountains with a Ninetales who took me in after my parents left me. She'd lost her own baby. It didn't live through birth."

[Ren]

(( I leave for a day and everyone joins! Cool! Hey, everybody!!!))

"Ahem!" the plusle cleared his throat, tapping hit tiny foot on the tree branch. The minum crossed his arms and stated, "The trees have ears." Of course, he meant that they had been there the whole time and not noticed, which angered the baby pokemon.

((Sorry, I was too lazy to read everything! Just let me know if I screwed something up.))

[Catheri]

Kumo tilted her head to the side. She was slighty confused. Shouldn't the two pokemon be happy that she was there? "What's wrong with you guys?" The little Pichu had no idea what 'the trees have ears' meant or who/what it was refeering too. Kumo decided that maybe they were hungry or mad at her, so she quickly disapeared into another tree's leaves and got a berry. Then she came back and held it out to the minun. She was smiling happily as her little outstreched paws held a berry as a gift.

[Ren]

The minum blinked at the berry, then up at the pichu. Realizing it was a gift, he took it with a grin. "Thank you!" he said happily, splitting it with his brother, as his brother did before. The plusle smiled too. "Yeah! Thanks a bunch!" he exclaimed. These two seemed to be a bottomless pit, not being able to get enough food.

[Catheri]

Kumo clapped her little paws happily. She was smiling brightly now. 'I knew they weren't mad at me!' Teeny little sparks were coming out from the little Pichu's cheeks. "You're welcome!" She was very happy! Kumo was always cheerful though. This little mouse practically never ever cried. "Like I said before, my name is Kumo!" She was practically cheering right now!

[kratos]

Raine smiled as she watched them.

[Pidgey]

Ace stretched his wings, then shook his feathers. Now that he had eaten his fill of berries, it was time to relax. He folded his wings neatly against his body and clicked his beak quietly, as he enjoyed the company of the other pokemon.

[kratos]

((Ok. I hadn't planned on getting 50 posts on the thread where Raine and Aryll met, so we'll say Raine is a Vaporeon here and act as though she was in my previous posts))

The young Vaporeon was happy there were so many potential friends around her.

[Pidgey]

((Okay. I'm going to try to set up Ace's evolution using this NPC, so please don't kill it off before I'm finished with it.))

Ace was just about to fall asleep when he heard a rush of wings. A Spearow had perched next to him, to feed on the berries. Finding no berries on the outer boughs of the tree, the spearow started moving down the branch, knocking into Ace.

"Awwwk! Move your butt, Pidgey!" He squawked, trying to force his way past Ace.

Ace's eyes blinked open, and he looked quite surprised. Then, his features hardened and he looked quite angry. He had been enjoying himself, and taking a nap. And he was sick of pokemon thinking they could push him around, just because he was only a 'helpless' little Pidgey.

"Why don't you make me move my butt, chicken." He shot back, quite rudely. No doubt Spearow would be angered by his words. There was going to be a battle.
