Ares hesitated, then cut the wires open. "You are free to go if you take me to that Garmeil." with this he climbed onto the Ledbyas back.

The ledyba had thought she was going to die. Now she had a new lease on life...but only if she betrayed her friend. She hesitated. But the terror of dying was a shadow over her...death was calling...and Flourish wasn't really -that- close a friend, now was he?

" Really?" said the ledyba. " Flourish!" she called. " Flourish!" She couldn't believe she'd been about to betray him, and maybe she still was, if this pokemon was lying. And he might be. Pokemon often lied when they were really hungry and talking to their prey.
Florish flapped over towards his friend once again when he heard her calls of distress. " Scarlet!" he called. " You're...you're alive!"
" Yes...um, the spinarak wants to talk to you," she said in a trembling voice, hoping to Aruseus that her would-be predator spared her life.

The spinarak climbed onto scarlet's head. "Hello, Flourish is it? I want to talk to you about.......the name escaped me."

" What? Karista? The one you ate?" Flourish was not really scared of the spinarak...well not scared that badly. He knew he had a greater level of experience and growth than the spider did.

" You will be or I'll die!" said Scarlet. She was well aware of the spider's predatory nature. If they decided not to be his friend, they would become his food.

A lone Scyther padded easily through the marshy ground of the swamp, her claws sinking slightly into the muck but she continued walking. Her scythes shone with fresh blood and there were still a few flecks along her jaw, adding to her fearsome look even more than the scar that slashed its way across her right eye, which was grey showing it was blind, and the large tattered wings at her back. Though she was partially blind, at least her left eye was still acurate enough to allow her a meal, and the meal she had just finished, well, it was one of the best she'd had in ages.

" How can you look at me straight, after you killed Karista, and tell me I need to forgive?" Flourish was incredulous. He just could not believe it.
" Please," begged Scarlet, tears flowing down her face.
Flourish looked at his terrified friend. Whatever the spider said, he might easily eat her if he chose. After all, he'd eaten Karista and he seemed pretty emotionless right now about things. " All right."

The Scyther paused at the voices of fellow Pokemon. Curious, she leapt easily into a tree and watched from the dense foliage, absently licking the blood off of one of her scythes. They were lucky she had already eaten, though she didn't kill for pleasure, she was a predator after all.

"Hmph, a predator friends with prey..." the Scyther growled quietly, her voice thick with amusement. "Something unheard of..." She gave her scythes another lick, splashing blood upon the leaves around her and also sending a few drops splattering upon the ground below. "I wonder if perhaps I should join the massing Horde. Then perhaps I could get what I thirst for..."

Next day Flourish was still in a deep blue funk, but his species, like that of most insects, did not generally mourn for long. They couldn't afford to. For them, life was short and had to be lived for the moment. He went about gathering up some honey from a nearby beequeen hive...it was his favourite food after all.
Scarlet awoke to find herself still alive. That in itself was amazing. She flew off to hunt something down for herself.

The Scyther yawned from where she had fallen asleep against the tree and glanced down at the Spinarak's web. She smirked slightly, figuring she'd be the type she was and have a little fun. From the branch she leapt down onto the ground and walked over to the web, swiping at it with her scythes so it started to collapse in on itself.
OoC: I don't think that's powerplaying. Do tell me if it is.

ic: Flourish noticed the scyther and made himself scarce. " Scarlet, this way!" he whispered from the bushes. Scarlet took one look at the scyther and ran to hide as well.

Flourish should have been thrilled to hear this. As he saw the spinarak being trapped in his own web, he thought it was a sort of poetic justice. Then, for a reason he didn't understand, Flourish reached in and tried to help Ares out. He couldn't stand there and watch someone die. " Here! This way!"

The Scyther hissed, half extending her tattered wings. She wasn't particularly hungry, no, but then again, these types of chases were rather fun. Then, there was always that link between predator and prey. She hunts, they run. "Aw, what's a matter? Afraid of little old me?" she asked coldly. "Don't worry, I don't bite... I slash." She brandished her scythes, her claws digging into the ground.

'fly Flourish! get away from here!" ares yelled at him. ares jumped up and crawled under the Scyther and onto another branch. "Come and get me!!!"
