Duran was only a year old, but...yeah. A year old. Maybe he could perform. he smelled Moon and realised she was ready to breed. "Well...uh...do you want to...now? Cause...maybe..."

Afterwards, Duran felt differently about Moon. Very differently. He felt like he knew her better, like she was a part of him. They had entered into some kind of sacred covenant together now. "No...I guess we'd better find a place to live." He leaned in close to Moon and licked her cheek. His feelings for her were growing but he still had a tough time finding the words to say it.

Her heart was hammering and she groomed her tail quickly and licked his face. He was now a part of her and now he would be a part of their children. "We need to find a territory and some dens. We will have pups hopefully in the fall. " she said and groomed her ears for him.

"The fall? We'll need a warm place, a place that doesn't get cold in the winter then," said Duran. "Fall is a bad time to have pups...I guess we didn't think this through so good. But what's done is done." He would stand by her. He had made a covenant with her and that would not be broken by him. "Yes--we've got to find a home, but it's not even quite summer right now. We have time."
ooc: actually they'd be born in late summer. two months game time.

Duran passed by several places that looked good to him, but he said nothing and allowed Moon to continue her search.

She stopped in a large clearing, it had a stream running down one side and many caves were already made into a hill. "This is where our pack will begin, no?" Moon asked her mate.

Duran looked at the caves. Something like that would be inhabited, or recently so. "This is a nidoran warren...or it was. Look at all those holes dug into the hill. A group of pokemon lived here or still does live here." He licked his lips. "Well if it isn't great for living in then it'll be great for hunting in."

Moon walked into the largest den and sniffed the air. "No pokemon has been here in months. the smell is so faint." she said, looking out the front of the den.

Duran ventured closer and discovered the truth of her words. There was no sign of nidos having been here recently. "They...all left. I wonder why. I hope it wasn't some disease or something, although I don't know if we could catch anything from them anyway."

Duran saw grass not too far off. It still grew in the area. "No...things like that just don't happen. There's got to be some reason why they left. But since they are gone and the place is empty, you're right, this is a good place to settle down."

"Let's sleep on it and then tomorrow we head back to Middle Meadow to see if we can find some," said Duran. "And when you have our pups, those will be part of our pack, too."

"Yes, but let's have a carnivor only pack, prefurable with feline or kienine roots." she said and layed her head on her paws. Moon quickly fell asleep.

"Felines, why would cats even want to join us? They don't hunt in packs anyway," said Duran. "They're no good at it. So they wouldn't even accompany us on hunts."

Duran was already sitting up beside her. "We're heading to the thicket. That's where we'll make our den. Better shelter than this, and who knows what'll come along and want to be our neighbours out here."
