Midnight then thought to herself, I guess Blaze never learned how to hunt... Oh well I'll just teach him! "Hey Blaze do you want me to teach you how to hunt? Just so you can hunt for yourself?" She asked the charmander.

Midnight then smiled happily. "Ok. First let's get down to the ground before we start," she instructed. She then jumped from branch to branch until she was a foot off the ground. From that branch she jumped gracefully onto the ground. When she was in the grass Midnight turned her attention to Blaze and called, "Come on I can't start the lesson without you down here!"

He nodded and jumped after her. Being a charmander, he was a little less gracefull, but did the best he could. He stood next to her.

"Hey cool, a sneasel and a charmander how odd," Daz said to himself, "wonder what they're doing?" Daz decided to sneak around, but as he did he tripped and fell into a small pile of sticks. "Oof." excalamed Daz.

Midnight turned quickly around when she heard a crack of some sticks. After seeing nothing she shrugged and said, "Ok now to teach you how to hunt!" She then sniffed the air and smelt a Rattata. "Do you smell that?" She asked the charmander. "That is the scent a rattata. That is one of the easiest creatures to catch." Suddenly her ears twitched. "The rattata is close by. Tell me how close it is by listening for it."

Blaze looked around and sniffed. He listened as hard as he could. After a few moments, he let out a sigh. "I don't know how the heck you expect me to know how close it is, but it is really close," he answered.

Midnight then nodded and listening for herself. He was right it was super close. "Very good. Now you have to be as quiet as possible and walk towards the sound," she instructed. "Be careful not to step on a twig or it will run away. OK?"

Blaze nodded and got on all fours. (As best as he could. O__0) After moments, he reached down and grabbed it by the tail. It hissed and flailed around. "What now?" he asked.

Midnight shook her head in dismay. This little charmander has a lot to learn, she thought. She then instructed, "Now you bite or scratch it's neck to kill it."

Midnight just rolled her eyes. "Don't feel bad about killing the Rattata. It is what we eat, Right?" She exclaimed. Right about now Midnight was wondering if Blaze was even a carnivore. She just shook her head to get the thought of Blaze being a veggitarean out of her head.

Midnight sighed. Suddenly she heard a crack of a twig in some bushes to her left. Her ears twitched twice and then she started to slowly and quietly walk towards the bushes. She was nearly there when something came flying at her from the bushes and hit her on the forehead. Right after she was hit, she fell onto Blaze.

He quickly dropped the ratata and caught Midnight. "Are you alright!?" he asked, looking around to find what hit her.

High in the treetops, silver feathers gleamed...Or at least, the patches where the feathers hadn't rusted over already.
Gata hadn't moved all night, or the day before that, or the day before that. He was hungry, but it hurt him to move. Water had seeped in between his feathers. He'd never been in a rainforest before, so he'd never known that weeks and weeks of water and metal mingling together would eventually cause rust.
Gata had given himself up to die, but upon hearing voices, his eye cracked open. He caught the scent of a small creature being eaten. Being a proud creature, he didn't consider asking those below for help. Oh, no. Gata had more delirious food-related thoughts in mind.

Suddenly Midnight shook her head and got up. "Yeah, I'm fine," Midnight said. "Thanks for catching me." Then the sneasel heard a rustle in the leaves towards the top of a tree in front of her. "Hey I wonder what's up there," she murmured. "Blaze do you what to check it out with me?" Midnight then leaped for the tree and started to climb it.

A horrible screech came from above. With one tremendous effort, Gata had managed to wrench his wings open. His feathers screeched some more as they scraped across one another. A grating noise came from Gata's throat. As his wings finally unfurled to their full width, his steel feathers chopped up the foliage around him.
<i>Now,</i> Gata thought, <i> If I could only get my legs to move as well.</i> He struggled, but his talons were firmly stuck in the bark of the tree.
Leaves and sliced twigs rained down on Midnight. The tree shook.

Suddenly the hole tree started to shake as Midnight got closer to the sound. She was guessing that there was a metal bird up in the tree. Finally after climbing a couple feet, she found who was making all the noise. It was a Skarmory. "Hey! Calm down!" she yelled to the fretting bird. "I can't help you if you don't calm down!"

Midnight then got hold of the branch she was standing on. When she had a good grip, she called down, "No it's ok I'm fine. But do you know any fire type attacks that are powerful? Even Ember would be fine!"

"Great!" Midnight exclaimed. "When I say go, fire your Flamethower at the shaking branch. OK?" Midnight then started to climb to the saftey of another branch on the opposite side.

When Midnight was safely on the opposite branch, she dug her claws into the branch's bark and when she had a positive grip she yelled, "Ready? Set? FIRE!!!! GOOOO!" She then waited for the blast of fire from below.

Blaze took a deep breath and fire shot out of his mouth, hitting the branch he was commanded to hit.

Midnight watched as the fire hit the branch and hopefully hit the Skarmory as well, or at least scared it. Suddenly the branch started to wear away. "STOP!" Midnight screeched.

Midnight then took a quick glance at the branch and could onl see smoke. "Yeah, You did some real damage to the branch. But I'm not so sure about the skarmory," she yelled down to Blaze. "By the way you have great aim."
