Zeelo's ears were pricked as he sat to full attention. Alone again, guarding the gates. This wasn't his usual job but the Horde numbers were dwindling, and whilst Yiska was out 'playing' with the new recruits, he had to take over the annoying Weaville's job. But he would never dare disobey an order from Chancol. Though he could never be as close to him as Amira, he was still his master and he would risk his life to protect him. That's what life is isn't it? You protect your master, that's just what you do. Amira taught him that. But that didn't explain Luna... She wasn't his mistress so why did he want to protect her?
He flicked his ears and shook his head, trying to dislodge these annoting thoughts. Standing tall again, he straightened himself out and waited...

Luna smiled when she saw Zeelo, but he looked busy. And niether of them could disobey the Shadowlord, so what was she to do? She couldn't go to him if he were on a mission, erm, job or something of that matter; but, she wanted desparately to see him.
For now, she would wait. She knew Chancol would be here soon, so she would make her entrance when he did. But it was agonizing, and she felt herself longing for him to hurry.
She silently thought it useless to hide; Zeelo would smell her immediately, so she took a step out from the bush...
((I wanted to wait for Cliffy. ^__^))

In the depths of the Fortress, within the collapsed dungeon cell that the First Shadowlord kept his presence, Chancol sat there quietly, almost in a meditative state, his eyes closed and body still it was easy to tell that the charmeleon was focused upon something.
~Now, you know...you have the choice to exploit them or let them live. Loyal or not...they--are--part of the Horde, and should be fully loyal to you, so have them either serve you in body and mind, or...in spirit.~ a mental voice echoed within the lizard-pokemon's head, unable to be heard by the outside world.
Despite the long hiatus from the ranks of the Horde, the Third Shadowlord still remained in his secondary evolution form for reasons only known to himself, and although he had been constantly looked down upon for his decision in the past, Chancol hadn't taken any of their criticism's to heart, either responding with the cold shoulder or the calm retort that would get the offending party to keep quiet.
Standing up from his sitting position, Chancol opened his eyes, the shadow aura having now affected his appearance somewhat physically but nowhere near as much as the look that he now gave; the navy blue of his irises had faded to a relatively bright gray, where as his pupil took on the former color of his irises, and all the while the white's of his eyes had morphed to take on the darkness that had surrounded him for such a long time.
Chancol slowly dispursed into a cloud of black dust, the only trace leaving behind was the brief embers that remained from his tailflame. Not much long after, he reestablished his being at the exact place where he ran into the first legendary that the Horde had learned to dispise: Alcatraz. The charmeleon had been there--one of the first witnesses of the First Shadowlord's demise, although not seeing the Shadowlord's true identity, he was only met by the Arseus at the top of a seemingly endless hole--which by now had collapsed inward--to be spared in the legendary's hopes that the shadow's aura would no longer keep its grip upon the residents of the Fortress..."And how wrong he was to spare me..." he chuckled to himself as he walked through the empty dungeons.
The only sound able to be heard down in the pit of hell that was known as the Fortress' dungeons was Chancol's footsteps echoing throughout the multitudinous corridors that no longer held the captives of the light; now the only captives are the long lost souls of those pokemon who had died of malnutrition, starvation, abuse, and torture by the members of the Horde who often found the prisoners a source of entertainment. But now, not a sound rang.
Emerging from one of the many openings that lead to the shadow labrynth, any member to the Horde was in disbelief that they were watching the Shadowlord casually reappearing as if he hadn't been missing for a full season. Yet despite the shock and awe of his nearby subordinates, no comment was uttered by the charmeleon while a few others muttered other welcoming phrases quietly to themselves.
Finally approaching the front of the Fortress, Chancol walked up to Zeelo casually, "Have I missed anything?"

(Oh yes Cliff put us both to shame with your long posts why don't you? ¬¬ XD)
Zeelo's eyes remained fixed on the gap between the gate, though one of his ears swivelled as he heard the apporach of his master. Unlike the other members, he knew better than to speak before his master invited him too, so he remained silent, waiting patiently for Chancol to approach.
Everyone had obviously noticed his absence, and a lot of unwelcome coments had been uttered. Zeelo reprimanded the Pokemon he saw doing this, even after he had been attacked numerous times. Since apparently, the shadowlord wasn't returning, there was no need to be nice to his right-hand Pokemon. Conversly, a good few Pokemon were being specifically nice to Zeelo, obviously hoping he would be their servant when they took over the Horde. Zeelo refused to budge an inch, knowing that his master would return soon. Scars from resultant fights still covered his body, though not quite as vibrant as before. When most Pokemon were being attack by unfaithful Horde members, they would fight back. Not Zeelo. His last command had been something along the lines of: "Stay out of trouble," from Chancol. Though this was probably more of a jokey comment than a command, Zeelo stuck to it perfectly, never returning a single attack sent at him. Consequently, he now looked rather worse than before.
Bravely, he stood tall at the gates, waiting for Chancol to approach. As soon as Chancol got close, Zeelo bowed to him, waiting for the sign that he could rise but not until Chancol had actually addressed him did he speak. "There have been some rebellions in your ansense Master," he replied, keeping his ears and tail low. "Many believed you were gone sir, and attemoted to take over the Horde." Zeelo didn't mention the fact that he had never lost faith like most others had, as his master hadn't asked for that information. Never mind the fact it would make him look more loyal, it wasn't required information. He tried not to bring attention to his scars and other marks from attacks, but they weren't hard to miss. Zeelo waited patiently for a response from his master, oblivious to Luna nearby.
(Wouldn't you love to have your own Zeelo? I want one, he's so loyal =])

Luna made herself known by walking towards the two and saying, "Welcome back, my lord." She bowed quickly and smiled at him. It had been a while, hadn't it? She side-glanced at Zeelo, not sure what to do. She had always been open with Chancol; he knew a lot more about her than others did. But she had grown up since that time, and wondered if things were still that easy. Was she to greet Zeelo professionally or lovingly?
Being the only female there, she was almost positive that she was the only one who would ever worry about such matters, but that didn't stop her from worrying about them. She could only smile and see what Zeelo did.

Chancol couldn't help but smirk at the houndoom-umbreon hybrid's behavior after the period of time that he had been gone, "Hm, I'm gone for long enough for most to believe that the Horde is up for grabs, yet you remain as respectful and loyal as ever...and somewhat battle-scarred. Good to see you Zeelo, but you might want to take a thing or two from Luna; I wouldn't be surprised if I had come back with no loyalty coming from anyone, and secondly, you do have to lighten up," the deadfire charmeleon's smirk turned to a grin as he shook his head, "there's a time to be serious and there's time to relax...this is more so on the side of relax." Chancol then gave a nod another one of his close allies, "Good to see you too Luna--and to the both of you, no need to upkeep that 'my lord' crap. I much prefer my name from those I actually feel comfortable about--" his head swiveled quickly back to the hybrid, "--and that's an order Zeelo, 'cause sure as hell I can guess that you won't stop unless I make it one," he chuckled. He found it somewhat entertaining that despite the fact that both Zeelo and Luna were umbreon--or at least part--and they had almost completely opposite personalities. "Now on to more serious matters, do either of you knowof any locations that the rebellion forces now reside? I have a feeling that they need to know that I am back..." Chancol asked, his tone falling solemn. (Hehe, don't worry about the length of your post as long as it has substance in it! I'd much rather read a short post with good read in it rather than an uber-long one with ramblings in it )

((Fine. I'll make something up. But it's on your head if I get yelled at. *huff*))
Luna grinned; it's about time someone told Zeelo to chill. She didn't have the heart to tell him, so who better than the Shadowlord?
Luna turned her gaze back to Chancol. "Actually, the rebels have been pretty quiet recently. Nothing real big has come from them so far," she replied. She shivered. "But, Zilla," she said the name with a hint of hidden fear, "is still out there, and as pissed as ever. Should we worry?"

Zilla stared at Chancol, resisting the urge to shout, "But sir!" He stumbled over his words in his mind, trying to think of what to say. Luckily, Luna answered for him, meaning he didn't need to. He opened his mouth to confirm what she had said when an explosion from the Alpine Meadow cut him off. Spinning round, he pricked his ears, hoping to find the cause of the commotion. The black flame tornado that ripped through the sky after the explosion came from only one source. Zilla. Zeelo's face remained blank of expression, though inside he was growling. "I believe that was Zilla sir," he said, not entirely sure if 'sir' was allowed or not. Still, he couldn't say his name... that wasn't right...

Chancol gave a look at Ren, giving her a response that was truly from his reasoning, "Well, by how she didn't exactly do anything about the Horde being here at all, the source of her anger isn't resonating from us. So the Horde is relatively safe in comparison to the Light. By what all I know it could be some sort of personal issue with her; unless she's just completely insane, then concern might arise when her rampage brings her back here."
When Zeelo began to answer Chancol couldn't help but shake his head in amusement, "Well you might as well just call me sir...just no more my lord crap." One thing that the charmeleon could constantly name about disliking the position of the Shadowlord would be the respect that most others pay to you, even if you don't demand it. Simultaneously being in the limelight really threw the charmeleon off, often times finding himself telling others not to pay him attention due to the many awkward stares as if awaiting some sort of command.
"Ugh...she's started already? I definitely thought Rayzor would have taken care of her a long time ago, especially if she had been this belligerent...but his loss is my gain," Chancol stated. "She hasn't been back here at all has she?" he asked, pretty much knowing the answer, but he had to make sure for himself.

Luna shook her head. "Nu-uh. Like I said before, it's been pretty quiet," she answered. She took a seat, realizing that this conversation could last for a while if the trio so wished it.
The umbreon ignored the explosion, knowing who was the cause of it and not wanting to think about it. Though, about eight out of ten times, ignoring something will not make it go away. But, ignoring it meant she wouldn't worry about it, and not worrying about it meant no weakness was shown. And that's how Luna would like it; no weakness.

Zeelo remained stood, but his tail brushed against Luna's back accidently as she sat down. He didn't look at her. Emotion wasn't important in the precence of his master. Of course, Luna would notice what he'd done, and was unlikely to ignore it like he had. Chancol didn't know yet, but did it really matter if he did? Yes, probably. He'd already tried to get Zeelo to 'lighten up' a lot. If he found out he lked Luna... well, he'd probably get kicked out of the Horde to enjoy his life... Whatever that means.
He couldn't survive without the Horde, that's all he knew how to do... He took a step away form Luna. No, Chancol couldn't know, not yet. So they'd have to be careful. though it was most likely way too late, he tried to catch Luna's eye and mentally warn her not to make it obvious... not yet.

Chancol couldn't help but feel that both Luna and Zeelo had different experiences in his absence, "I hate to be rude Luna, but by how battered Zeelo seems to look, I completely can't believe that everything has been as quiet as you let on..." he replied, eyes sliding over to the hybrid in question. "Zeelo, do you agree with what your friend here is saying? Or is there something else that I should know about?"
The charmeleon pretty much figured that Luna wasn't lying on purpose, only telling a story based upon her own experiences when the two were separated. Although he hadn't known either of them any time before his rise to power, he had found a strange sense of trust when he was with both Luna and Zeelo.

Luna looked down, ashamed. She was wrong? She couldn't figure it out; everytime she came back to check on things, it was quiet. Her blood ran cold, assured now that she had indeed missed something and would punish herself for it later. She looked back up as calmly as she could and said, "I'm sorry." She knew that Chancol wasn't angry with her, though she failed. He probably should've been, but he wasn't. At least, judging from his tone of voice, he wasn't. ((I know it's Jespie's turn to reply, but no one has posted since Dec. 6th, so I decided to. So, this post is probably just babbling for the sake of posting. ))

But like I said, that's how I like to RP )) The charmeleon somewhat found entertainment in Luna's reaction, but didn't outwardly portray it. He couldn't exactly comprehend why making a mistake would have such an effect upon one's ego, especialy one as minor as having a lack of knowledge. Shaking his head, he calmly responded to the umbreon's apology, "No need to apologize, everyone's truth and reality is all dependant upon their own personal experiences. You and Zeelo tend to never be together so he may have seen things you havent, especially in his position as being a higher rank in their minds. You, on the other hand, aren't exactly well known to the rest of the Horde."

Luna snickered, imagining Zeelo as the next Shadowlord. But composure was quickly gained and she was serious once more. "But, you're back now. That means they'll either be frightened and go away or they'll attack you," she stated to Chancol. She wasn't incredibly worried, since she knew from experience that he could take care of himself.
But, it helps to have a couple body-guards, right?

Chancol gave a smirk when Luna mentioned the choices the rebels had at this point, "Well, lets hope that they give an effort to attack, I've been somewhat alone for the past season or so...silence from the world is enjoyable, but at some point just interacting with something else, whether it be spilling its blood or just conversing, its a good relief." Taking a small pause, the charmeleon tilted his head before proceeding, "Just out of curiosity, have either of you heard news about what's going on in Zilla's direction? I doubt that anyone here has decided to actually venture over towards the area, but I'm ju--"
"Milord, what do you wish of us?" A voice interrupted, loudly, but politely, drawing Chancol's attention over to a small squad of pokemon, made up of about fourteen, with a majority of fire-types. The voice had come from a magmar who had knelt down at the Fortress' Gate.

Luna's snickering caught his attention and he turned to see her. he rasied an eyebrow, wondeirng what she was finding so funny. Zeelo ignored Luna and focused on his master. The small group of Pokemon caught his gaze and he instinctively took a step towards Chancol.

Luna's ears twitched as a group of pokemon approached. The large firetype, a magmar, had taken a kneeling position. That showed submission, but Zeelo had his doubts since he moved closer.
But the way the addressed Chancol, she assumed they were loyal followers. So, she stayed where she was sitting.

A black-scaled charizard stood up and stepped ahead of the magmar looking down at the canine hybrid, "Zeelo, no need to be cautious, we may be new around here but we have no intention of harming you nor the Shadowlord. Hopefully he was expecting us around this time..." his eyes--one white with a black iris while the other completely black--drifted over to Chancol who in turn shrugged then nodded. The charizard soon then gave a dismissing wave to the other thirteen pokemon behind him, who in turn stood up and slowly scattered throughout the Fortress, as if having been there their entire lives. Upon closer examination of the charizard, one could see a multitude of battle-scars running along his entire frame, most of which had healed up a long time ago. He moved just outside of earshot distance away from the trio, needing to talk to Chancol but not wanting to interfere for too much longer with their conversation. Chancol looked back at Zeelo, having lost his previous train of thought, he moved on to the more pressing rebellion problem, "You said you were attacked while I was away, I desire to exact some sort of retribution for becoming disloyal and attacking one of their own in hopes of power. Can you remember and identify any of the leaders, if any?" his voice held a very slight tone of unrest, deep down he knew that the instant he left things were going to go downhill, but that didn't mean he would let actions go unpunished. The charizard had captured the umbreon's attention. What an interesting pokemon, she thought. She pouted, wishing she was a charizard. The power of fire, being able to fly, and just have that superior aura. Because, almost no one messed with a charazard, she noted.
Her attention was then gained by Chancol when he asked Zeelo a question. She faced Zeelo, curious of who had attacked him.

The unnamed charizard caught Luna's glance and smirked as he observed her facial expression, he somewhat guessed as to what she was thinking based upon not having met or heard of Luna from Chancol at all. Not dwelling upon the other's thoughts for much longer, the black-scaled lizard gave a simple one motion-wave just as she turned back to focus upon Zeelo and Chancol, questioning whether or not she saw his friendly gesture.
~Its been quite a while since I've been this active...so much has changed...There isn't anyone I even recognize even the faintest bit...~ he thought to himself as his gaze shifted downwards, his face portraying slightly a feeling of emptyness.

Zeelo nodded at the charizard but didn't move away. It was instinct for him to protect, whether Chancol was in danger or not, and since he didn't know the Charizard, he could easily be a threat whether he said he was or not.
Zeelo nodded as Chancol spoke, though it was more of a small bow than a nod. "Yes ma- sir," he corrected himself. He growled at himself for getting it wrong. Again, it was instinct to obey everything, and slipping up meant punishment. Though Chancol was nowhere near as strict as Amira, she'd brought him up and taught him to obey every rule his master gave without hesitation.
"As far as I remember, a group of Scyther were the main culprits."

(Random: I just found out that a friend of a friend of mine actually has the nickname 'Zeelo' xD)
Chancol smirked at the fact that Zeelo was actually trying to make an attempt to adjust his entire mindset about how he referred to him, and gave a nod in response to his efforts--a silent commendation for changing his ways--even though it wasn't much further away from 'my lord'.
As for the attacks upon Zeelo, the deadfire charmeleon took on an appearance of slight confusion in relation to the species of pokemon that had decided to lead the assault, "Have these scyther attacked or lead any other rebellion efforts within the Fortress? To be honest, I haven't noted only few--if any--scyther around here...Probably why they hadn't shown up until I had left...Where were you attack--"
"Sir!" another voice interrupted, this time a pidgeotto, landing on a nearby stone that appeared to be a block of stone that had been dislodged from the human complex ages ago when there were still human occupants.
"Is it urgent..." the lizard replied in a voice that definately portrayed his annoyance.
"I believe so...there's a Darkrai not too far from here that's defeated quite a few in our ranks!" the bird exclaimed, eyes wide and wings flapping to emphasize its concern.
"Now, who initiated the attacks, us or it?" Chancol asked, still calm with his stare fixed upon the bird without faltering.
"As far as I know, we started it...they said that it resembled Amira, so the automatically assumed that she was back to get revenge, it only attacked after the small group attempted to take it down..." the bird's look of alarm slowly turned into one of confusion as he observed the Shadowlord's facial expression turn into one that portrayed amusement.
"You're dismissed, tell the others to stop being mindless and gain some common sense. Let those who wish to try to attack die in vein, it'll help me in the long run," Chancol replied, and in response the pidgeotto obeyed his orders and took off.
"So, Zeelo, where were you attacked by this group of scythers?" he calmly continued.

What was this? A darkrai named Amira? Luna had heard of no such thing. But, it sounded interesting.
As much as she wanted to question it, she turned to stare wide-eyed at Zeelo once everything clicked. Scythers? A GROUP of them? Sure, he could take them; but maybe the injuries were worse than she thought.
She stayed in her place, though.
