Abra's Exploration (OPEN)

[Omni]

Omni looked around through squinted eyes to find himself on the banks of a mountain stream. He was used to not waking up where he fell asleep; It was common for Abra to teleport in their sleep. He could probably stop it from getting too out of control, but he really didn't care. Anywhere for him was just as good as anywhere else. His curiosity could easily keep him entertained in any place he happened to be at the time.

Standing up from his sitting position, he calmly strolled across the edge of the water. Stopping, he saw a pile of flattened rocks not too far from where he stood. Glancing at the water, he thought to himself "I wonder how far a rock would skip upstream in comparison to downstream..." Telekinetically, he began lifting the rocks and tossing them in different directions down the stream. One rock splashed out of the water, flying off through the air daown the path. "Hmm... that one was a bit uncontrolled." He thought to himself, continuing to throw the rocks with his mind.

A Chatot flew above Omni, singing her name absent-mindedly. "Lyyyyirc! Lyyyyyyrrriiiccc, that's meeeeeeee..." She gilided in circles, oblivious to the Abra below.

[Omni]

The sudden singing from above caught Omni by surprise, and broke his concentration just as he was about to hurl another stone. He accidentally lost control of the projectile, sending it flying upwards into the sky where the Chatot circled.

"Gyaaah!" Lyric screeched, barely dodging the rock and swooping downwards, landing infront of the Abra.

[Omni]

Omni looked curiously at the Chitot as it swooped down in front of him. "Sorry about that." He said simply, then without pause looked up to the sky. "That got quite a bit of distance..." He muttered to himself. "Considering the angle and height it reached, I wonder where it will land..." Omni had a nasty habit of having a too-curious one-track mind. It often made him appear insinsitive, when he was really just easily distracted.

"Well, well. As long as no-one is hurt." Lyric happily chirped, "The world calls me Lyric, and you?"

[Omni]

"Omni is my name." He said, then added with a confused look "How is it that the world calls you Lyric? You were already known by all but me?" Another bad habit Omni had was to take things very literally.

Lyric smiled in a way only birds could. "Nah. I'm just saying that Lyric's my name."

[Omni]

"Ah, I see." Abra said, a look of concentration on his face as he committed the phrase and meaning to memory. Soon his gaze fell back to Lyric. "I apologize again for my run-away experiment. What were you doing by the way?"

Lyric shrugged. "I dunno... flying, I guess!"

[Omni]

"Just flying?" Omni was puzzled. "You were just flying to fly? How odd... To do something without a purpose..." He had begun to speak to himself at this point, deep withing his own mind. Snapping out of it, he looked back to Lyric. "I don't believe I've ever done such a thing. What was the word... Fun? You were flying for fun?"

"Almost." she chirped, "It's either that or sing. I do believe they're both fun."

[Omni]

"Interesting." Omni said. "I still have trouble understanding this 'fun' concept, but if I understand correctly, my 'fun' is my experiments. I cannot help but be curious about this world and what happens to make it tick. So I spend my days going to new places and doing new things, like skipping rocks. To judge the river's resistance. I suppose that this is my 'fun.'"

He looked at Lyric. "I think I might try your fun... See what is so interesting." With that, a stone large enough for him to sit on floated through the air engulfed in a purple glow. Boarding his makeshift aircraft, he motioned to the sky. "So can I follow you in your fun?"

[Sephalesh]

Farther down the stream a commotion started. "Run for your lives! Run!!! He's comin!" A stantler yelled running from something. Behind the stantler a huge wave of water was traveling up the middle of the stream at around 50-60 mph.(Very freaking fast) There seemed to be something in the center o it, but it was hard to tell. A stantler went under the wave. "Jimmy!! No!! We lost jimmy!" the stantler yelled, but then he too was overtaken by the wave of water. There was the sound of gurgling from the wall of water. It was coming up the mountain stream fast, towards the abra and chatot. As it ot closer, a ball of rock could be seen in the center, a ball of rock.

[Omni]

Omni looked at the wave, then to the Stantler, and back to the wave. "The stream could never naturally cause a wave of that size... I do very much wonder what is causing it." He said, seemingly oblivious of the danger. "You know Lyric, we should probably avvoid that wave." With that, he teleported himself and his rock high up into the air, looking down at the wave. "A rock? How peculiar..."

"Yup, yup." Lyric chirped, flying up and lightly landing on the Abra's rock. Noting the situation, which she thoughtwas mildly funny, she began to sing a song.
"Loook, loook!
Theeerrree, theerree!
The waave just swallowed that staaaantler,
Loook, loook!
Theeerrree, theerrree!
Now they've both gone uuunder!"

[Sephalesh]

The wave of water passed under the abra and chatot, still speeding at high speed. It continued up the stream, following the contours, until it fell away from sight. The stream, which was once a pretty good size stream was now merely a trickle. Two wet stantlers got up, looking scared, and ran in the opposite direction. "Let's get outta here! Jimmy! RUUUUN!" They wanted no part of what had passed them, no part. They ran like the wind.

[Omni]

((Why is it that you enter and immediately leave threads? Just curious.))

"Well that was certainly abnormal." Omni said simply, then, as if nothing had happened, turned to Lyric. "What were we doing again? Oh yes... Fun."

"Yeah." Lyric nodded happily, "Fun. Liike siiinnngggingg!" She smiled as her head tilted to the side. So what does an Abra do for fun?"

[Sephalesh]

(It wouldn't be very realistic if the wave just stopped half way up the stream, now would it. Anyway, how long can a wave moving that fast stay?))

[Omni]

"Like I said, I experiment, like my rock skipping. Now though..." He looked at the trickle that once was the stream "That wouldn't work very well. So I suppose that the table is open for suggestions."

[Omni]

((For some reason it won't let me edit my post, so ignore my last one.))

Suddenly Omni came to a realization. "My fun is experimentation and studying oddities. And I'm letting one escape now." He looked off into the distance at the wave. "I'm sorry, but I must go. It's not like me to ignore such a promising find." And with that, he teleported away, his rock dropping to the ground.
