Ryder Cooper has lived in San Diego her whole life. The most known girl in Willow Hills High. But she has a problem. When she a young girl her mother was murdered. The killer? Her father. Of course he went to jail, to give her some relief. But now tension builds up as she learns that the man she used to call dad was released on ‘good terms’. Now, with a child of her own what is there left to do? Be afraid or protect yourself? Her choice? Protect herself. The problem is that he's not after her - the victims are the ones closest to her.
She has no idea where he is or where he could be. A week after she receives unknown phone calls, she learns that a new teacher has taken over one of classes. A familiar air lingers between them, but nothing Ryder notices at first. Between periods she notices him following her, not thinking of it she strolls along with her best friend Haley Douglas and her boyfriend Tristan Bennet. The ones closest to her.
Then suddenly he disappears. No more teaching, or lurking in the shadows. Like he was there to just get a week's worth of pay. weird right? wrong. Next Monday, hell begins. as he walks through the door with a gun an innocent student is shot and hurt. he seems to charge right where Ryder is and notices that Haley isn't with her. of course by that time the lockdown is in process and everyone is running outside and away from the armed ex-con. what will come of his actions and will Ryder stand up for the ones close to her heart? how this all ends will depend on the shoulders of the ones closets to the father and the rest of the school.
