Things have changed over the last two years. With the death of Sanfara's old dictator, the SB improvement experiments, experiments to improve people's weapon halves, no longer go on. Hiroshi, previously Sanfara's most wanted criminal, is now the emperor of Sanfara, running the country with his council of friends, and his girlfriend Ryoko. Slavery is now banned, all previous Sanfaran slaves having been freed and given enough money to start up a home.
But, things haven't always been so great. Every now and then, the Dictator's strongest supporters cause trouble in the cities and towns. They are quickly taken care of, but every day the issues get worse. One day the followers flew a plane into the capital city, planning to suicide crash into the capital building. They had to be shot down.
Recently, though, something even stranger seems to be going on. Strange people are starting to appear, seemingly out of nowhere, with marks upon their neck. These people are incredibly powerful split blades, stronger than most normal people. There origins are eventually revealed.
Warriors. The new split blades are the reincarnations of old world warriors, the strongest split blades from ages past. They are those who fought in the world's most violent wars, and those who died for the honor of their countries, from the days when Sanfara was once split into many countries. And now they're back.
Some of these split blades have no goals. They only wish to live a life of peace and prosperity, different from the life they once lived. Though they have some trouble adapting to the new technology, they still manage to survive, doing labor and living with ancestors, who gladly welcome them in.
But some aren't so innocent. Some wish to reunite their old countries, some wish to recreate their old homes. Some wish to take over Sanfara altogether. These split blades band together to try and take over, burning down cities.
Hiroshi, noticing this, counters by preparing the Sanfaran army for a war that may take years. He begins to draft those willing to help for the upcoming battle, and even asks for the help of the ancestral warriors who have taken up home in his land. Some are hesitant, while othes are honored to assist.
The war begins now.
