A Temporary Sanctuary

Inyena ate and then wandered around the bramble cave allitle and ran back to her mother when a pigey called in the distence.

[Omega]

"No need to worry, Inyena," said Veneno, "I'll protect you."

[Starrunner]

Inyena nuzzled Veneno and fell asleep at his side. "dadda" she whispered.

[wynnyelle]

"It's not just my people. A lot of nasty pokemon live in the area," said Charna. "Oh...Inyena, honey, that's just a pidgey, won't hurt you sweetie." Her poor daughter must fear everything after what had happened to her.

[Omega]

Veneno was too shocked to listen to Charna, "Dadda?" he said before bursting into laughter, "She thinks I'm her father!"

[wynnyelle]

Charna looked at Veneno in a special way. "Do you want to be her adopted father? Like a father? Her real father--I won't tell her about him until she's a lot older. He's a horrific pokemon. But you're a lot different. You're the kind of pokemon who'd make a great father to her."

[Omega]

"I would love to, but there's one problem," replied Veneno, "I'm a crobat."

[wynnyelle]

"That's why I said adoptive," said Charna. "You can be like a father. We can tell her when she gets old enough to wonder, that her real father left and went away and instead, you came along to do what her father couldn't do. Her real father...was a mean, bad pokemon. But not you. You don't have to do it, but if you want to..."

[Omega]

"Very well," replied Veneno, "I just fear for her. When she comes of age and realizes our species cannot breed, she may be hurt."

[wynnyelle]

"Breed?" said Charna. "But she'd have me to help her understand what species she is. She's a mareep, and will be a flaaffy and ampharos, and I think as long as she's raised from a young age to understand it all she'll be fine. But if you don't want to..." Charna had just thought it would be wonderful, and give Veneno purpose in his life.

[Omega]

"If you think it'll be OK, fine," replied Veneno, "I will be her father."

[wynnyelle]

"All we have to do is just tell her while she's still little if she asks about that stuff." Charna smiled. "A father you are!"

[Omega]

"Very well," replied Veneno.

[wynnyelle]

"Now, as a father, all you have to do is stay around and be there for her, to do fatherly things," said Charna. "We eat grass, so you don't have to worry about hunting for us."

[Omega]

"I will be here to protect her," replied Veneno.

[wynnyelle]

"Thanks. Your flying skills and my electric skills cover a lot, I think," said Charna.

Right then, a bunch of pokemon came poking through the thicket towards them. At the front was a crazed looking bulbasaur. "I found him guys. YOU," he said to Veneno. "YOU killed MY brother!"

[Omega]

"Your brother attacked us," replied Veneno before attacking with an air cutter, "Leave or you will be joining him."

[wynnyelle]

"I'm afraid that's where you're mistaken," said the bulbasaur, who had a whole bunch of other escaped prisoners with him. "All that my brother did was do something accidental to THAT stupid lamb and he gets killed for it? I don't think so. You kill him and then cut and run, I saw just what you were doing."

"Leave NOW or we'll contact Alcatraz and he won't be too happy about this," said Charna.

A bellossom looked at them in a sinister way. "I say we take them and leave them in the Fortress. After all, we're going to need something to bargain with."

"What do you mean?" said Charna.

"The Horde knows where the escaped prisoners are," said the bulbasaur. "That's what we mean. We're going to need something to bring to them to make them leave."

"Alcatraz risks his life to get you out and save your lives and this is how you repay him?" said Charna.

[Omega]

"You double-crossing bastards!" yelled Veneno, "We break you out of prison and you attack us? How dare you so much as consider handing us over to the Horde!" He then lunged at the bulbasaur with an aerial ace.

[wynnyelle]

"They're full of the darkness!" bleated Charna, stepping in front of her lamb to protect her. "All of them. They're still evil and they have to die."

She shot a thunderbolt at the bellossom, but the bellossom dodged.

[Omega]

Veneno shot an air slash at the bellossom.

Being a grass type, the air slash was especially damaging. It cut right through several of her leaves, leaving her injured.

The bulbasaur sent a razor leaf.

Veneno was hit directly, but was barely hurt due to his type. He swooped down to the bulbasaur and sunk his fangs directly into its flesh and began drinking its blood.

The bulbasaur winced.

Veneno then rose to the skies, dragging the bulbasaur by its skin before swooping down and slamming it into the ground.

However, more prisoners began to rear their heads.

"Charna, this is too dangerous," said Veneno, "We can't handle this many."

[Starrunner]

A large shadow ball flew out of nowhere and headed twards the bulbasur. A second later, a kirlia appeared beside charna and her eyes were glowing, as an invisable attack (phycic) attacked the bellosom.

[wynnyelle]

"That's right you can't handle us," said the bulbasaur, getting up and recovering enough to rejoin the ranks. "You're ours now." The ex-prisoners surrounded them.

Charna crouched defensively over her lamb. "We've got to tell Alcatraz, let him know some how what's going on...but I can't go anywhere..." She looked at Veneno. "Veneno--you can fly! Get out of here, fly!" she whispered to him. "Get Alca!"

[Omega]

Without a word, Veneno flung Inyena onto his back. "She's not safe here. I'll take her with me to Alcatraz," he said before flying beyond the treetops.

Storm touched charna and used teleport. They both were teleported away from the brable cave.
