Character's name: Warbeak
Species: Staraptor
Age: adult
Sex: male
Description:
A large hawk-like bird of prey with gray and white plumage. A distinctive crest of feathers crowns his head. Warbeak is a large bird, even compared to other members of his species, and is a very strong flier.
Over the upper mandible of his beak, he wears what is known as an Iron Beak. The Beak was fashioned from the steel feathers of a Skarmory, and presented to him when he was made General. Now, he uses the weapon against the Horde.
Personality:
Though he was once a very different personality, today, Warbeak is calm and confident in his abilities. He has faith in the Crusade, and in the good of Pokemon. He is a strong and bold leader, but he is also wise and patient. Every one of his actions is carefully premeditated.
History:
Deep within the bowls of the Fortress, a Starly was hatched by captive Staravia, only to be snatched away and drafted into the ranks of the Horde. He was christened Warbeak, a warrior's name, and raised as a servant of the Horde.
As a Starly and a 'greenie', Warbeak was eager to prove his worth to his superiors. Though he was small, he had guts, which often impressed the higher ups. They even commented that, if it had not been for his small size, he would make a fine Captain.
Years pass, and the eager greenie becomes a respected and powerful General. Warbeak has evolved into a Staraptor, and his vicious battle tactics have evolved with him. He is widely regarded as one of the most vicious leaders in the Horde, and is respected and feared by many of his subordinates.
Warbeak would have spent his life with the Horde, continuing on with his wicked ways. But, on a trip into the dungeons, he came beak to beak with his past, and a horrifying reality; his own mother. Beaten and broken, she could still remember her own son's face. She called out to him in a weak voice, and somehow, he was guided to her.
At first, Warbeak thought he was staring at a pile of old feathers, calling his name. But when his mother managed to prop herself up to look into his face, he knew instantly who she was. He could only look on in silence as she told him how handsome he had become, and how she wished she could have brought him into a peaceful world, so that he could have had 'something else to live for, besides bloodshed.'
Something deep inside the General changed that day. Though he tried to deny it at first, his mother's last words had moved him, and he decided to honor her request. He spent the next several weeks planning a massive jail break with the prisoners, and even some of his Horde followers that he had managed to turn.
But, some sly pokemon informed the other Generals of the plot. At first, they did not believe that Warbeak would turn on them, but acting on the suspicions of the informant, they secretly monitered Warbeak, and they were ready for him when he put his plan into action.
While they were trying to free the prisoners, Warbeak and his team were confronted by the other Generals of the Horde, along with their subordinates, and a great battle followed. In the end, many prisoners were able to escape, but Warbeak barely escaped with his life. He sought refuge in the forest, and was cared for by a Chansey until he had recovered. He is now recognized as an enemy of the Horde.
He has started up the Crusade to continue his efforts to end the evil of the Horde and bring peace to Erymire.
