At the very edge of the West Savannas, some grass rustled as something seemed to move through it. It rustled for a couple minutes before it suddenly went quiet.
With in the grass, a Shinx with a purple star at the end of it's tail and black eyes watched as two Kicketots played together very happily. The Shinx's body tensed up as she prepared to pounce on on of them but somehow, she just couldn't get her body to do the action she wanted. She grunted very quietly as to not scared the bug Pokemon off and tried to make her hind legs move but she just couldn't.
Before she knew the Kricketots flew off into the sky. The Shinx watched them go and sighed, finally able to move her limbs as she entered to small patch of dirt they had occupied before.
"Man..you really need to get over this Ashe!" The Shinx, Ashe, said to herself, shaking her head back and froth. "How in the world do you think you can get food if you don't hunt for it, huh?"

Xen was doing his daily walk when he saw Ashe. "Hey,whadda you doin'!" Xen walked up to Ashe and his flame had shrunk to a little flame. "I'm Xen,you are?" He walked around Ashe looking at her appearance. "Black shinx? You are a very unique pokemon...."

Kayuma padded through the grass, licking his lips at the meal he'd just had. The young Electrike had just had a filling breakfast of Yanma, courtesy of himself, and he was feeling rather proud. 'Hunting on my own's not so hard... I guess Thunder Wave is good for some things...' He purred, something he could still do, because he was young.
Then his long ears caught the sound of someone speaking. He sniffed the air. The scent was familiar... someone from his clan?
Electrike and other dog pokemon travelled in packs, sometimes called clans. He left his clan this morning in search of better fighting experience. If he was ever going to be a Manectric someday, he had to learn to fight better. He tracked down the scent, taking extra steps so he didn't disturb the grass. His green paws padded gently on the soft brown dirt between the blades.
His head popped out of the grass, just a little. He saw a Shinx, a black one, and Xen. He'd met Xen before when he had passed through Kayuma's clan's territory. "Xen?" he asked softly. He wondered vaugely if Xen recognized him.

Ooc: Mind if I join in?
Riotoko padded through the grass of the savanna. The blazing sun felt hot on his black-furred pelt. So much so that some Pokemon would have had to take shelter from the heat; but not Riotoko. Being a half-fire type, the heat didn't bother him as much as other Pokemon. He stopped and sniffed the air as a scent washed over him. Electrike. He concluded. Riotoko tried to figure out the location of the Electrike, but was unsuccessful in doing so because of his hunger. He growled slightly before catching another scent. This time, the scent of a Spearow. The young Houndour smirked and padded in the direction of the bird-Pokemon. Once it was in sight, he pounced; pinning the Spearow down and killing it with a swift bite to the back of the neck. He layed down and began to eat, hoping that nobody would interrupt his meal.
Ooc: I hope I did that right. XP

Something rushed in the tall grass behind him, as if chasing something. An unfamiliar scent filled Kayuma's nose as he looked back. "Be right back Xen. Gotta go check something out for a sec."
The Electrike padded softly through the grass, his ears twitching rapidly, searching for a sound. It came to him when he passed a patch of grass moving rapidly and making eating sounds. He licked his lips, the taste of Yanma still lingering. There was no hunger, but curiousity. He poked his head through, just enough to see who it was.
It was a Houndour, normal in color and only a year or so older than him. "Hello," he said softly, trying not to startle him, "what've you got there? Who are you?"

Riotoko flicked his small ears and looked behind him. It was an Electrike, probably the one he had scented earlier. "This is my kill." He answered snarling. "As for who I am, I don't think that concerns you." Riotoko was in a rather bad mood today because of his hunger, and the Spearow didn't do much to calm it. He relaxed his muscles slightly after noticing that the tone of voice the Electrike had used did not show any sign of a threat. "What do you want?" He asked gruffly, narrowing his eyes.

Kayuma blinked, not sure how to respond. The Houndour was not so much rude, but extremely blunt, something the Electrike was seldom exposed to. He flattened his ears in embarassment, and muttered something the Houndour couldn't hear.
He shook himself, tiny sparks from the friction of the grass rubbing against him flying side to side like water. "Sorry, didn't mean to intrude. I left my clan today, to go on what the elder called my 'spiritual journey'. Whatever that's supposed to mean. I'm not supposed to come back until I've become strong enough to beat my own father." Kayuma did his best to shrug his front shoulders. "I'm sort of at a loss of what to do, looking for anyone that will give me some tips on becoming stronger."
There was silence for a few moments before he hastily added, "My apologies about your snack..."

Riotoko stepped back slightly, avoiding the sparks that were flying off of the Electrike. He raised an eyebrow and chuckled slightly. "So, your Elder sent you on something called a Spiritual Journey?" He echoed. "Sounds like the guy lost his wits or something." The Houndour licked the blood off of his paws and muzzle before speaking again. "And you say you have to defeat your father? What is the point in that?" He asked. "I'm not sure, seeing as I don't have any parents, but aren't mothers and fathers supposed to help their kids? Not make them fight them?"

"That's not it at all," Kayuma said, shaking his head. "What I meant is that if I CAN beat my father in a fight. No one's making me. It's sort of a... life's choice." He pawed at the ground, drawing a faint circle with his right as he thought.
"And for my clan, spiritual journeys are sacred. It's an honor to get one." He muttered under his breath, he said, "I just didn't expect to get THIS one." He looked away, and then back at the Houndour. "Actually, you are right about parents helping their kids and all, but it's... it's sort of complicated. I don't even know why I'm trying to explain it all to you."

(OOC: *pounces thread* ^-^ )
She sniffed her way through the grass, trying to find a specific scent. For the past few weeks she had had to fend for herself, finding her own food and shelter. Luckily, her mother had taught her well. She had been able, though just barely, to keep herself fed as well as safe. Though Kiera was still young, she had a sense of the overwhelming urgency of the situation: if she did not find someone who could help provide for her soon, her luck would run out. As it was, she was searching for the scent of her mother. Though possibly naive, Kiera still held onto some hope that her mother was still out there, and that she could find her.
The first scent that she found, however, was not her mother's. In fact, it was the scent that she dreaded finding most. "It's him!" she couldn't help but shout, sounding fearful, as well as looking the part. Her ears flattened against her head and she let out a small whine, as she brought her head back down again to reinspect the scent.
What she discovered puzzled her. It smells... different, she thought. But it still smells kinda like him. She sat and tried to think, After mulling it over in her mind for a few minutes, she came to no conclusions about the identity of the mysterious pokemon, though she did come to a more important realization, at least to her mind. But... if it is him, maybe mother is there too?
As soon as she thought that, she had made up her mind. She sniffed her way toward the owner of the familiar scent, as fast as her little legs would carry her.
She heard them before she saw them. She couldn't understand what they were saying at first, though after coming closer, she was able to make out what they were saying.
"... helping their kids and all, but it's... it's sort of complicated. I don't even know why I'm trying to explain it all to you."
Ever so cautiously, she peeked her head above the grass, and was able to make out a single shape that stood out from the grass. Though when she saw the black pokemon, she couldn't help but let out a loud gasp before she could stop herself. It looks kinda like him too... she thought to herself. She ignored her instinct to run, because one thing still bothered her. But is he... smaller than I remember?
She decided to hide herself in the grass and look on, and hoped to herself that they hadn't heard her.
(OOC: She's confusing Riotoko with the Houndoom that attacked her and her mother, since Houndour and Houndoom would smell similar, and since she had never met a Houndour, or a Houndoom for that matter before the attack. And yes, she didn't see Kayuma because he's about the same color as the grass.)

Kayuma sighed. "Hey, good luck with your snack. I've got to go. Spiritual journey an' all that. I kind of take it really seriously." He padded through the clearing and past a little Poochyena. He stared at for a second, and then spoke. "Well, aren't you a little far from home... where's your pack?" When it didn't answer, he shrugged, "It's okay, you don't have to answer. Oh, if you're curious about the Houndour back there, I'd be careful, he's in a bad mood." They all have bad moods, Kayuma thought to himself. "Take care of yourself now. I've got to go. Maybe we'll see each other again someday." He nodded his head down respectively. "I'm Kayuma. Sorry I can't stay and chat, but I sort of have something I have to do. See you, kid." With that, he walked off, padding silently through the grass. (OOC: Umby, you already know about the post thing. Guess whenever I'm done with my one post with Kayuma, we can have them meeting up again. Raik, apparently you can only have only post per pokemon. Plfbt. Oh well. Hope you understand.)

Riotoko stretched his jaws in a yawn before watching the Electrike go. "See ya kid." He yawned. The Houndour stood up and shook some of the dirt from his short black and red fur. Suddenly, a scent wafted over him. He sniffed the air intently, trying to identify the Pokemon the scent belonged to. After few seconds, it came to him. "Poochyena" He thought. He turned in the direction the scent was coming from. "Hey!" He barked loudly. "Come on out! I know you're there!"

(OOC: You're gonna have to actively sniff her out, she's scared stiff. xD )
When the Electrike had found her in the grass, she was too nervious to move or speak. He seemed friendly, but that did nothing to help. One thing he said made her afraid.
"Oh, if you're curious about the Houndour back there, I'd be careful, he's in a bad mood."
Bad mood? she thought, and glanced in the direction she last saw him. She was getting ready to run away, when she heard him speak.
"Come on out! I know you're there!"
She froze. If he knew she was there, there was nothing she could do, but she was frightened. She lay on the ground, making herself as small as she could, closed her eyes, and yelled out, "Please don't hurt me!"
(OOC: Ugh, I hate that verb. "lay" is the 3rd person past form, but it always sounds so wrong. But w/e.)

Riotoko followed the voice and the scent through the tall grass until he came upon a young Poochyena cowering on the ground. "Why would I hurt you?" The young Houndour asked. "I have nothing against you as far as I know. And I'm don't eat other canine Pokemon." He said. Riotoko prodded the Poochyena with one of his paws. "Come on now. Stand up." He barked. "I promise I won't hurt you."

(OOC: Sorry it took so long, I couldn't figure out how to respond, and at first I was waiting on the other topic so I could reply together, but that never happened <.< )
Kiera stood up, literally shaking. "You... you won't hurt me?" she replied to him, hesitant. She was afraid of him, and didn't know if she could trust what he told her. What if he's lying? was the only thought she could think. She was too afraid to try and run, so the best she could hope for was that this pokemon kept his word.
(OOC: It's short, but that's the best I can come up with <.< )

(OOC: Pulling my characters out, so I can go RP somewhere else.)
After a few moments of hesitation, her fear grew stronger. Being in the Houndour's presence was just too much to bear. Away! I have to get away! was the thought that suddenly ran through her mind, and she acted on it.
She began slowly by taking a few small steps backward, and then outright bolted. She ran as fast as she could away from the other pokemon, and would not stop until she collapsed out of exhaustion.
