Death is Not an Option

Of course, hiding was always an option. But what was he hiding from? Prince sat up in a tree branch with his eyes wide as he stared down at the grass below him. He wasn't hiding from anything in particular. He was basically just hiding because he was afraid something was planning to attack him. What? Everything! The other Pokemon, the bushes... even the ground itself! Prince was shaking in fear as he wrapped his hands up and over his head.

And at that moment, the ground began to move. It started as a scratching beneath the ralt's feet, then became an actual shifting of soil and a jostle as a diglett popped up from the earth right under Prince's left foot.

[Steven]

((Hope you do not mind me joining, I need a rp.))

Lurking in the bushes, was a Houndour. This Houndour growled under his breath as he observed the Pokemon standing there. This Houndour's name was Darkfang. The hound like wasn't to kind to visitors at any hour of the day, but after having his ear torn of...he made exceptions. He watched the Pokemon for awhle trying to see whether this Pokemon was going to be a problem or no. But soon he came to a conclusion that he posed no threat. "What are you doing...this close to my home..." he growled lowly, he really didn't want to scare him away since not many came close to him any more...but he knew he most likely end up would.

Prince froze when he caught sight of the Diglett and the Houdour. He screamed slightly and clung tightly to the tree branch that he sat on top of. He shut his eyes tightly and violently shook his head. "No, no, no! Please, leave me alone! I didn't do anything," he cried out as he burried his face against the tree branch and burst into tears.

[Steven]

The Houndour looked up and sighed heavily. He wondered how long that the Ralts was going to be able to sit on that branch before being scared out of its mind. "Listen up, I have no plan to hurt you...either of you unless you plan on hurting me." The hound Pokemon decided to fully reveal himself from his shelter in the bushes. He stepped out slowly, at first he appeared to be any regular Houndour...but get a closer look at him, the areas on his body that should be red...were replaced with a dark shade of green instead. "I go by the name of Darkfang...remember that." he growled a bit louder than earlier.

"D-d-d-darkfang?" Prince stuttered as he stared at the Houndour with it's large, unnaturally teal eyes. He went to say something else before he slipped from the branch and fell to the ground with a quiet thud. Prince quickly jumped to his feet and rubbed his purple head. "Ohhh.... owie..." he muttered to himself as he shook his head. He knew that the ground was trying to hurt him... he always knew.

"Oh, Mud!" the diglett swore. Just his luck to pop up in a bad place. He ducked back into his hole and watched from just above the surface. Now was a good time for him to get away. The Ralts didn't scare him, but that houndour sure did.

[Steven]

Darkfang's eyes widened at the site of the Ralts falling from its perch in the tree and then onto the ground. But once he saw that the Pokemon was alright, he lost all signs of caring. "You need to watch out, if you would have fell on me...." he said trailing off with a growl. The Houndour was insensitive to other Pokemon, this was because he had no trust for them ever since that day his father had chased him away from his home three years ago. He swung his head, revealing battle torn ear. Afterwords he noticed that the Diglett had fled from the scene. He sighed wishing a day would go by when he didn't scare anybody away. The odd dog Pokemon already didn't have any friends of family, he just wished that somebody would stay around him for at least a few moments.

"B-b-but... if I would have fallen on you, you probably wouldn't have felt it," Prince said, stuttering some more. Okay, that wasn't one hundred percent true. Just because he weighed five pounds didn't mean you wouldn't feel him. He looked up at the Houndour with a frightened look on his face but continued to rub his head. "E-either way... I... I'm greatly sorry Mister... umm... Mister Darkfang!"

[Steven]

Darkfang huffed "No need to apologize...nobody ever apologizes for anything in my life anyway...why should they start now." he grumbled. He, for no reason looked up into the sky and gazed at the sun. Since Darkfang was part fire type Pokemon, he was always fascinated with the sun and the energy it radiated. He felt that the area around him was the only friend he had, since he felt that no Pokemon could ever be trusted. Darkfang turned his attention back to the Ralts "By the way, I never did catch your name?" he asked. Of course the subject concerning the little Ralt's name and even wellbeing didn't concern him the least, he thought he would just ask to pass the time.

Prince nodded his head slightly and stared down at his small feet. "I... I'm Prince," he replied in a quiet tone of voice. He wasn't a fan of his name. It didn't suit him and all the other Ralts made fun of him for it. Stupid Jonathan having to give him this name and then having to abandon him. It just wasn't fair.

[Steven]

Darkfang blinked. Prince was a very uncommon name, but however he didn't laugh about his name. He never did laugh ever since his happy life as a young whelp had ended, then he got his ear torn off by a Zangoose. "That is some name you got there, I really would suspect somebody with that name to be stuck up...and a jerk, but for you that appears not to be the case." He groaned and then sat down to rest his legs.

"I'm sure I wouldn't have had that name if I'd lived a normal life," Prince admitted as he sighed and sat down on the ground. Actually, he'd never thought about that before. What would his parents have named him? Definetely not Prince, that's for sure. Maybe it would be some scary name... like Bob.

[Steven]

Darkfang blinked "So, I guess your life has been a mess too huh?" he said "That is one thing we have in common." he said "The first year of my life...was a total lie. My parents said they loved me but at the age of one, it all ended when father chased me away with the intent to kill me." he said in a low slightly said voice. He then picked his voice up "But I have never let those lies ruin my life, for then on out I decided all Pokemon other than myself cannot be trusted...so I just battled all the time...day in and day out." he paused, he didn't want to get to social with the Ralts just because he felt they had something in common.

"Oh wow," Prince started say as he sat there with wide eye sand stared at the Houndour. Well, at least this guy knew his parents. "I've never met my parents before. Father left before I was born and mother left the moment I was born. She dropped me beside a river and just sort of left me there."

[Steven]

Darkfang sighed "They left you, mine tried to kill me." he said. "My father had powerful legs, he pursued me for days before he gave up chase...and he let me know he hated me as well." Darkfang growled lowly and trailed off in the end. A few minutes passed before he decided to speak again. "I think it is because I am different, my parents were purebred and they must of tought of me as an abomination because my belly area and muzzle are dark green instead of red." he growled again, the memories of those who have said they had loved him...cared for him and then alas betrayed him made his mind fill with rage and anger.

"My parents attempted killing me. Mother ment to throw me in the river so that I drowned, but she missed," Prince admitted as he laughed softly. He was quite happy that his mother missed. Although, being dead wouldn't be that bad, would it? "If my parents had pursued me and tried to kill me, then I'd obviously be dead right now. After all, I have really short legs. And as for your color... well, I'm not exactly a normal colored Ralts and no one seems to hate me... that much."

[Steven]

Darkfang grew slightly a bit cross "Yeah but your a Ralts, a peaceful Pokemon...we Houndour are considered ruffians. I guess being normal and having a normal family was all my parents had to be proud of." he growled "And I guess I took it away from them just by coming out part dark green." his voice grew quieter and the once rude Houndour drew back into a cool and calm state.

Prince pouted slightly and shook his head. "I really don't see why everyone decides to not like someone because of their color... it's a horrible thing to do. It's not like we're bad peple just because we're different colors. We're just... unique," he said as he stared down at his feet. There's nothing wrong with being partially green or, in Prince's case, not green.

[Steven]

Darkfang grunted as a sign as he agreed. "We shouldn't be rejected at all." he growled. "Its all my parents fault for my horrible life." He looked at the sun again "The only friends I have is the sun, the wind, and the trees." he snorted. He rubbed his paws across the ground "No Pokemon cannot be trusted, in this world we can only trust ourselves and nobody eles." Darkfang couldn't count how many Pokemon he have said that too in his whole life, he had to say that about every day atleast once.

Tammi was wandering throught the forest when she felt a strange sensation. The feeling she always had when people were scared or upset. "Don't worry, whomever you are," she said to herself. "Tammi's coming to the rescue!" She went a little farther and saw and oddly colored Ralts and Houndour. The Ralts was rather small and the Houndour had a torn ear. They were both emitting the vibe. She didn't want to interrupt their conversation but didn't want to eavsdrop, so she popped in anyway. "'Sup?" she said in a friendly manner.

[Steven]

Darkfang blinked. He didn't see the sudden appearance of another Pokemon, but he sure did smell the scent. He turned his head to a Aipom. "Who the heck are you?" he got into a crouch and growled, the Houndour had already had two sudden visitors today...A third one wouldn't make him the most happiest canine Pokemon in the forest. Darkfang growled a bit and then got back on all fours he stopped growling but still continued his cold behavior. He just turned his head and blinked. "Your lucky that I don't find you as a threat to me." he grumbled lowly afterwords he turned his attention back to Prince.

"Well Mr. Grumpy, I came to cheer you guys up! So stop looking depressed and be happy!" exclaimed Tammi. She struck a superhero pose, then fell of the branch and landed on her face. "Ow..."

[Steven]

Darkfang huffed in anger "Mr. Grumpy?" he grumbled "How about you come over here and say it too my grumpy face!" he yelled. Then as he was about to burst into rage at the new arrival, the oddly colored Aipom fell from the trees. Darkfang stopped his surge of anger and huffed deeply "Well you falling flat on your face is punishment enough...there is no need more me to continue." Darkfang finished his sentence with a spat and as he spoke he let out a low yet sharp growl. After all of the events had occured Darkfang sat himself down on the ground, given both Pokemon a sign that he was emontionally stable at the moment.

Tammi sighed. "I guess that won't work on Houndour..." The clumsy or stupidity act worked many times, but sometimes, like this time, it didn't really work. She looked at him again. He seemed to be calm. "Maybe it did work...I guess he's one of those pokemon..." Tammi looked over at the Ralts to see if it had worked on him.

[Steven]

Houndour blinked and glanced at Tammi "What in the world?" he snapped. He didn't have time to be playing games with either one of the Pokemon, he let out a minor growl and he followed it up with a sigh. The canine Pokemon was getting quite irratated at the moment. He hadn't really expeceted today to end up like this, and speaking of an unexpeced day...the Houndour had not had much to eat today either. His stomach rummbled and he groaned as a sign of hunger. A simple "Oops.." escaped his lips afterwods.

"Are you hungry?" she asked. "What do Houndours eat anyway?" Tammi had always been curious about things like this for some reason...

[Steven]

Darkfang looked at Ralts and Aipom. He licked his fangs and began to speak "We're carnivores...but I do not paticular like Ralts or Aipoms so you two really don't have to worry." he said "Primates...and those horns on the Ralts head don't fancy me." Darkfang glanced around. "My favorite prey are mouse Pokemon. Rattata and Raticate I don't eat Pikachus or Rachiu's because of the aftershocks." he said in a cold yet jokingly manner. He got into a crouch and crawled around trying to sniff out a Rattata.

"Alrighty." she said. Tammi climbed back up the tree. "Well, I'm just gonna take a nap now." She yawned and started to fall asleep in the tree.

[Steven]

Darkfang glanced at Prince and showed his fangs. "Fine." he spat with a growl in the end and then he turned his head up to the sleeping Tammi "Both of you fine, make your selfs home...in my home if you want!" he yelled. All Darkfang wanted to really do was find himself some food to eat, he slipped through the undergrowth hoping his odd coat colors wouldn't give him away to his prey..if so he would back it up with his speed. He turned back to call "I am hunting!" he turned back again and moved about threw the grass. They can find their own dang food if they want! he thought with his head hung low, sniffing for the scent of Rattata or Raticate.
