What Else to do but ~Swim~

[Runner]

Haruka had been doing the whole 'Look at me I'm a Mudkip' act when he'd stumbled upon a massive waterfall. His eyes sparkled with excitement. Being a mix between a Mud and Water type Pokemon he loved diving in waters but not for very long. He had to also dive into dirt. That was also fun.

He ran over to the side of the little pool at the bottom of it and jumped in, enjoying the cold feel of the water on his fin. He surfaced and laid on his back kicking his little legs in the air and swimming.

It was just his natural Instinct

Yukari had been hiding just beneath the surface of the pool for a while. It was kind of a slow day, and not many Pokemon passed her way. It made things boring, because that meant there was no one to scare. Cloud watching was lazy and pointless after so long, and she knew that many of her siblings were out on errands. The Mawile didn't have very many friends, either, and the reason was about to be very clear.

As the Mudkip made his entrance, Yuka turned around so that her jaw-like horns were facing him. Then she jumped up quickly, making a large roar and flapping the horns so that it looked like he just woke up an angry monster.

Haruka had been calmly enjoying the little swim he was having, he was looking forward to see how long he'd feel like staying underwater. But the first time he'd gone under he hadn't seen the Mawile at the bottom. Call it selective sight. He stared up at the sky from his back. Hey that looks like a cloud! Oh wait...

Well this was very rel-SPLOOSH! Haruka was startled as something appeared to have jumped out of the water. "ARGH!" He screamed at the big thing that was roaring at him. He was out of the water faster than you could say 'Mudkip'. "Please Don't eat me!" He shouted curling up in a ball.

"YOU DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO, BOY! I'LL SWALLOW YOU WHOLE!" Yukari was used to putting on a deep, frightening voice, but she couldn't hold her amusement for long. Lilting, loud laughter came immediately after Haruka's retreat, and the 'mon quickly made her way to the shore. She spun around, showing a much cuter and tamer side to the nonexistent monster.

"Calm down, kid! It was just a joke! Yep, gets 'em every time." She reduced her laugh to a huge grin, then leaned over the balled up Mudkip. "How was that for a scare? Was it convincing?" She sat on the ground unceremoniously and stretched out her tiny legs with a smirk.

This was no way for a teenage Mudkip to behave. Haruka should have fought back, but he wasn't much of a fighter. He started shaking at the deep voice the monster thing had put on. Next he heard laughter. And not evil laughter, sort of 'Got Ya!' laughter. He lifted his head up ever so slightly to see that the 'monster' was just the back of a Mawile. He quickly uncurled himself and almost blushed, to show that he was embarrassed about falling for the joke.

"Y-Yes a joke. I-I knew that" He said still trying to shake off the fear. He stood on all fours and tried to look dignified. But his knees were still shaking. So failing that he sat down. "It'd give an older Pokemon a heart attack. More scarier than a Fearow close up" He said a small grin starting to appear on his face. He was starting to see the funny side of it.

[Fuu]

"Awww, blushin', are we?" Yukari grinned once more, resting her little hands in her lap. "Sure you knew," she added in a sarcastic voice, rolling her eyes for effect. "Oh, older Pokemon? Hehe, yeah, I even scared a Rhydon once into crying for his momma!" Whether or not this was the truth, she seemed to be proud of the proclamation, anyway.

"Ah, now you're smiling! That's the spirit!" She suddenly leaned forward to give the Mudkip a noogie. "Now, it isn't polite just for me to not talk to good sports! I haven't had someone understand my pranks in a long while, besides my brothers and sister. What's your name, kid?" Even though he was her age or slightly older, she tried to sound tough and grown-up by calling him "kid". Her dad did it all the time, why couldn't she?

Haruka tried to force himself to stop. Which he failed but at least now it wasn't so much of a bright color. "You try shouting don't eat me in public, It's fairly embarrassing" He said smiling. Fortunately for Haruka he had not embarrassed himself more by making a small puddle. "Rhydons tend to be homesick for their mothers anyway" He said as if it was nothing impressive. Course should the Mawile had gone on with the joke Haruka would have probably gone running.

Haruka was quite startled to receive a noogie from a Mawile. Were they all like this? "I've finally seen the funny side of it" He told her. "Pranking total strangers is more fun that relatives. They expect it less" He said. He was surprised to hear her call him kid. He was in his late teens, not in pre-teens "I'm actually a late teenager. But I can see why you'd mistake me for someone younger" He said, "My name is Haruka. Yours?".

[Fuu]

"Everybody'll forget soon enough!" That didn't necessarily include the Mawile. She stood up again and began to sway restlessly once her noogie had made its mark. She just scoffed at the Rhydon comment. "What do you know about Rhydons? I betcha never even fought one!" Yukari struck a kicking pose, though she threw her leg in a direction opposite of the Mudkip to prevent an accident. "I beat a dozen Rhydons by myself, single handedly!"

She tilted her head once he divulged his age. She was a bit surprised, but not deterred. "Oh yeah? Well, I'm older than you are," she lied with yet another smirk. "I'm Renegade Yukari, champion of the world! You can call me Yukari, if you want. Nice to meet you, kid."

[Runner]

"Yeah I hope so..." Haruka said as he scratched his head. He watched the Mawile stand up and sway...seemed fun but not the type of fun Haruka liked. He grin grew larger as it was now turning into a contest "Well then you've never faced a Rhyperior!" He said striking a dashing pose as well. "Oh yeah? A dozens nothing. Try taking on two dozen at once!" He said, which he hadn't actually done but he doubted the Mawile had either.

He stood up legs no longer shaking full of excitement from the 'How many can you beat' Argument they just had "Which is why you feel the need to pick on younger Pokemon for fun?" He said smiling. "I'm Champion of the galaxy! Beat that Yukari!" He said.

It was fun to argue like children.

[Fuu]

"Rhyperior?! Two dozen?! Ha! Try taking down a fifty foot Tentacool while surrounded by a hundred Gyarados, and doing it without ever touching the water! I used them all like stepping stones before I took 'em down!" She made another tough pose, then tilted her head towards him with another grin. Her jaws flapped behind her a bit, but she swayed them the other way, so as to not give the Mudkip another fright.

"Pick on? I call it toughening up! It's a crazy place out there, and how are you gonna survive it by gettin' scared or not bein' able to brag?" Yukari stared at him after his claim, then put her hands on her hips. "Oh yeah? Well, I'm Champion of the ENTIRE UNIVERSE! Plus, I'm pretty." She flipped one of her headflaps away from her face as a Jynx would flip her hair.

"Ya know what? I'M Pip, champion of EVERYTHING!"
What looked like a blue beach-ball was drifting their way, bobbing up and down in the water but steadily washing towards the two pokemon. It seemed to spin, then disappeared under the water, reappearing behind Haruka. The poliwag's eyes were like perfect circles as he stared at Yukari's 'jaws'... the youngster had never seen a Mawhile, but he quickly accepted this oddity and continued his speech, spiral on his belly slowly fluctuating.
"And I've walloped a dozen wailmers an' kicked a bunch'a' krabbies, and fought thirty seakings in my sleep!"
He seemed satisfied with this number, swimming up next to the mudkip and looking very comfortable in the present company. "You're Harryuka an' you're Renn'gade Yu-key. I was watching."
