"Hmmmmm, I can smell others in the air..." Siscarm had dragged himself out of thought to comment on this, which would be good proof as to how concerning this was to him. If they were found trespassing, then the following events wouldn't be very good ones. Espically if they were BloodTribe. "Can you discern which tribe they are?" Siscarm looked down at Shahgag hopefully. The knowledge of which tribe, clan or pack could benifit them greatly.

"No," said Shahgag. "I...I have no knowledge of these lands. We are past any place that is familiar to me...as a slave of Bonetribe, I was not permitted beyond Bonetribe camp and nearby hunting grounds. To go farther afield...was to disobey."

"Well..." Siscarm paused as he picked his words. "Sometimes, in order to learn, you must disobey. That is experience." He looked down the path. At least here, the trees were thinner in their coverage, and he could see where it was he was going. "I can only hope that our experience here can end without any bodily harm."

His words frightened her. Shahgag took a step back from him. "Never...not for me! I'm a slave! If I disobey...Deathtribe is waiting." She felt torn between feeling blessed to travel with him and being on the brink of being cursed to a soulless afterlife. If she disobeyed she would only put herself off the single path towards the survival of her soul and body.

Siscarm turned to face Shahgag with a toothy grin. I tell ya, I've gone against more terrible things than DeathTribe, if they come lookin', I'll fight them off myself." With those words said, Siscarm turned away and dragged himself along the path, not particulary caring what happened. "Sometimes you take a step, and what happens tells you not to ever again."

"Oh, yes, how could I forget? You can...but as one under your ownership I wonder if the same protection would extend to me? Forgive me for my apparent greed in saying so," said Shahgag. She continued to follow him along the path towards the scent of the tribe of absols.

Siscarm shook his head. "Don't ask for forgiveness, you've done nothing but ask a simple question. Yes, you will be protected under my...partnership, for I will use my own protection to shield you." A simple enough question to answer, and also completely true.
As Siscarm continued to grow uneasy, and he began hearing scattered noises around them, he only hoped that his own protection would suffice in keeping him alive, not to mention the rather submissive Shahgag.

"We--we are confronted..." Shahgag trailed off as she saw a few other absol step out of the shadows. One of them spoke.
"You are on Woodtribe territory...offer your names, trespassers."
"I am Shahgag, slave of Ijamaku of Skytribe!" Shahgag threw herself down at their mercy.
"Skytribe? And slave?" The other she-absol looked at Siscarm. "You are of a shadow tribe?"

"Nay, I am not of a Shadow Tribe." Siscarm shook his head at the guard. Inside he was silently praying for their lives to not be in danger, and that his lie would go through. "At the moment I am of NoTribe, if you can understand, but I seek to be of WoodTribe. Is there a way for that to be possible?"
His face made a motion that made it appear that he had raised his eyebrow, though he had none, it made him have a quizzical look.

The female absol looked him and Shahgag over carefully. "Actually, yes," she said. "The thing is, Woodtribe is always in need of new members. We're at war. and as long as you're not spies..." she looked at Shahgag.
"My tribe was destroyed by Bloodtribe!" cried Shahgag. "My master--killed..."
"And which tribe was that?" said the absol.
"It was...Bonetribe."
"So Bonetribe is no more, eh?" said the other absol, a tough-looking pokemon with battle scars. She was not big, but looked like a good fighter. "I hate to say this in front of you, but good riddance! The Shadow Tribes are nothing but horrid tribes. Not fit to be called tribes!"
Shahgag looked at her. "Then this is a Light Tribe?"
"What your ilk calls a Light Tribe, yes. I'm Hallis, beta of Woodtribe."
Shahgag looked at her with reproach. "You have no right to call my tribe horrid! The Light Tribes are weak!"
"The Light Tribes don't enslave their bitches and brainwash everyone," said Hallis. "You poor thing...another ex-slave who's going to need a whole lot of convincing that she has more opportunity than that."

Siscarm was agitated. Though at first he had been excited at their acceptance, he was beginning to get tired of the rascism and pointless conflict. His brow was furrowed, though the act was hidden under his fur. Even though he was angry, Siscarm knew he must remain calm. Unfortunately, he didn't do too well in that certain field of calmness.
"Damnit, if BoneTribe was eliminated, it's my best guess that they'd be coming here next, and their forces are probably swelled with every damn Absol they could find. Light Tribes and Shadow Tribes don't matter anymore. If what I'm thinking is correct, than all these 'Shadow Tribes' have been absorbed by BloodTribe. There are no Shadow Tribes anymore, and she is not evil in any way, not was her tribe. She accepted me regardless of my differences, and I swore to protect her, why can't you accepts us, and get two more sets of paws to help you? Hell, Blood Tribe is probably already on their way, you're going to need everyone you can find."

The elder female absol looked at him calmly, her scythe ear angling backward. "It does matter. Shadow Tribers corrupt. They torture their females and subjugate them and any males they deem unworthy. They rape, torture and inflict nothing but pain! We long ago closed our ranks to them for good reason. Our tribes are the oldest ones, and they formed from members of our own tribes--our ancestors--who turned on us from the inside out, and took their followers and left. They have since raided us many times over the years, stealing our female kits for slaves. We have not forgotten. And we can defend our own."
She looked back at Shahgag, "I can see you are still very young and clearly a victim of their evil. You are welcome in Woodtribe, you and your companion." She looked back at Siscarm. "Your name is Ijamaku?"

Siscarm had been beat, but a single loss could not be counted against the whole war. All that was left was to play along. As he felt the anger leaving his body, the Absol found himself able to speak wih his usual calm voice. "Yes...Ijamaku, of both SkyTribe and Kathuna, and the adopted master of Shahgag. What is your name?"
ooc: Neh, Writer's block.

"I am Neftilla," said the absol, a little tight-lipped as she looked at him with her gaze still holding a measure of suspicion. It would take time for her to fully trust anyone coming in from a shadow background. "And here there are no masters, and no slaves."
"But--...." Shahgag held her tongue. Neftilla was an elder and she was clearly of some ranking in this tribe. She was bursting to ask, but what about me? I will be damned to the paws and teeth of Deathtribe if I am not beholden to a master!
"No slaves," said Neftilla, "and you will not be damned for it. We have power over Deathtribe, here at Wood and other tribes in the area. Deathtribe holds no sway over us, And while you are with us, they will not be able to touch you."

Siscarm gave is toothy smirk to Shahgag as Neftilla spoke. In a low undertone, he said, "See, when we're here there's no danger from DeathTribe, that's just like when you were with me." When he finished his statement, Siscarm's voice returned to an easily distinguishable level.
"Well, I suppose that the equal rights life will be normal to me. I agreed to be Shahgag's master so that she would not be damned. I suppose since you can prevent that, she can start a life of self-confidence. I tell ya, I've been trying, but it seems she knows no other way."

"It will take time, nothing will happen overnight," said Nephtilla. " I haev seen this before. Shahgag, you are not the first one of Bonetribe to seek refuge here."
Shahgag hung her head, then was overcome by curiosity. "Who else was there?" she looked back up at her.
"If you come with me, I'll show you."

Siscarm trotted along behind them, quietly, as though trying not to break the moment. This single Absol could well be the turning point for Shahgag, and if he were to disturb the moment, he may well never forgive himself for it. Whateve happened, he now hoped the best for Shahgag, not himself, something rather odd for Siscarm, who usually was detached from the world. He only hoped that this survivor wouldn't be someone who might trigger a third breakdown, they were growing annoying.

It was some time before they entered the tribelands. Nephtilla trotted ahead of the two newcomers. "I will tell the others," she said. "So they know not to attack you. Wait here."
She headed swiftly off into the tribe's camp, leading Shahgag to stand there breathing in the scent of many absol.

Siscarm was uneasy. He swayed from left to right, shifting his paws to slide his weight under fear of an attack. There were too many things that could be hiding in the trees, and the Absol knew that none of them were particulary keen of the two. Out of the bushes, Siscarm observed as a small one of his kind steadily walked towards the two.
"You, Ijamaku."
Siscarm looked at the Absol with mild disinterest. The pokemon seemed to be no more than a few years old, but his voice was unsettlingly deep. "Yes?"
"My family does not like you."
"Well I'm sorry to hear that, is there anything I can do?"
The young one thought for a moment, as though there were a good answer to the question. "No, nothing." With that said, the young Absol retreated back into the trees, leaving Siscarm quite baffled. This place was rather strange, and he didn't quite know if it were better or worse than the place he'd been before...

Shahgag bared her teeth and snarled ferociously at the newcomer who had spoken. "Touch him and I will rip your throat out and watch you bleed." She glared. She meant business.

Siscarm nearly jumped as Shahgag spoke to the strange Absol. The outburst of anger that she had just shown was really unexpected from the otherwise passive femme, but it showed Siscarm that she had confidence, if not a sharp tongue as well. Well, at least he knew that she would help him if things started to turn bad, and any ally is a good ally.

He was gone. "I will defend you if he comes back," said Shahgag, melting back into her usual subservient self. she nearly called him master again, but caught herself.

Siscarm smiled. "Well it's always good to have a friend." After he said this, Siscarm began wondering where Neftilla had gone. If they truly had this many guards to convince, then they may well have security issues. As if on cue, the elder stepped into the open again.
"We can continue."
Without even checking if they were following, she began to walk down along the narrow path she had just come from. Motioning for Shahgag to follow, he trotted along after Neftilla.

Shahgag followed them into the main camp of the Woodtribe's land. A few other absol were visible as she passed by, she lowered her head in deference to them as they passed by.
"Our tribe is now your tribe," Nephtilla said to them. "But just remember--we are at war."

Siscarm nodded as he walked. He'd been in war before, he knew what the pokemon did, what they would deem necessary. But still, everywhere he looked the non-fighters were not happy. Their faces were long, and haunted Siscarm slightly. Even so, the both of them were part of these people now. They would have to get used to it, or fight. Siscarm had already decided that he would not get used to it. Regardless, he looked in the faces of every Absol they passed by, to see the people he would fight for.

"Currently we are at war with Bloodtribe," said Nephtilla, deciding to fill them in more on their current situation. "They made the first move, obliterating two other tribes--one shadow, one original--and assimilating the survivors. Every tribe in the area fears they're next, so we are seeking an alliance with Windtribe. However, they blame an attack on their tribe several years ago on us, even though we didn't do it, so it has been hard going."

Siscarm thought of the things that Nephilla was telling them about. None of it really made much sense, it's not like the BloodTribe just up and decided to conquer everyting in the area, there must be a reason.
"This behaviour is quite odd, that of BloodTribe. I don't particulary like the fact that they simply decided to begin slaughtering all the others, for as far as I know, no such things happens without a reason. Has there been any prey movements? Or perhaps something that could provoke them?" Siscarm looked at Nephtilla hopefully, as though such an answer could solve the current problem.

"We don't know for sure," said Nephtilla, but they have long been the darkest of the tribes. And their leader is a horrible absol. Huge, tall and reeking...he is said to kill anyone with a single bite. And they die a slow and painful death by poisoning. His name is Luftalkah."

"Well, that's rather unfortunate, I don't particulary look forward to meeting him anytime soon. Well, not unless it's to kill the son-of-a-bitch." To tell the truth, Siscarm was not afraid of this, Luftalkah, in any way, shape, or form. The way he saw it, the Absol was nothing more than an infestation of the world, and if there ever were an oppourtinity to kill him, Siscarm would take it. Well, not Siscarm, Ijamaku.
Nephtilla snorted. "We'll see if you get the chance. Now then, on the origonal note, we have arrived at your desired location." The elder indicated to a rather tired looking Absol about ten meters ahead of them. Siscarm turned to Shahgag, observing her reaction.

Shahgag saw that Nephtilla was extecting her to go to the old absol, so she did. She stopped short of going too close, though, and instead halted two absol-lengths away. "I have been told that Deathtribe cannot even touch us here...is this true?" She trembled, for she was unused to acting as she was now--being bold enough to actually come out and ask a question to a stranger like this.
