Elly collapsed in the middle of the tall grass. Surely this would be a good place to rest, she thought. They couldn't possibly see her with the grass so high around her.

A very pale periwinkle-lavender furret with wild bangs came strolling towards the haggard looking hybrid. ''Hey there babe...you look the worse fer wear...what's up? Somethin chasin' ya?'' he asked. He was rather large and heavy as furrets went and he had brilliant honey coloured eyes. |

Elly looked up at the Furret, unable to get up. "Yes," she said. "The Horde. I barely escaped. Now, I can't move."

"That's...like...not good." The furret's cobalt-coloured cheek stripes were clearly visible as he looked down at her. "Hey, how bout I getcha up on my back and we getcha somewhere you can rest? Can you hang on? Cause yer too big fer me to just carry by the scruff...dun think it'd be too good for me to drag you over the ground. What happened? Why can't you move?" He looked up from her, straight ahead and sniffed the air. He smelled a lot of pokemon in the area.

"Then...off we go! Hang on!" Inigo headed off swiftly through the grass, not liking it much, because it was very thick and difficult to see very far through. And now, with Elly on his back, he couldn't rise up to stand on his tailtip to see over the grasstops. He was stuck heading blindly through the grass. "Who else thinks we should high-tail it for the woods or somethin?"

"Sounds good," Elly said. "Thanl you very much. If you hadn't come, they surely would have caught me." THe young Umbsol(Absol/Umbreon hybrid since she evolved during the fight) smiled, glad she'd found a friend.

"But it seems like no one wants to befriend someone like me, just because I'm different. When I lived with my parents, other children used to pick on me all the time just because I look so different. They used to call me 'tan devil' and 'halfa'." A tear fell from her eye, invisible to Inigo. "You don't know what it's like to get rejected by everyone. Even my parents left me about a year before I should have left them."

"I've got nidoran and meowth in me, somewhere back in the pedigree. Even a little mew thrown in. That's right, I'm a legend, babeee." he grew more excited to have met her. "You wouldn't be rejected by us. Alas...it's just me out here in Erymire. The rest of my family lives far off...or lived, most of'em died in the catastrophes going on out in Phargas, where I lived till I left to find a solution to the problems going on down there."

Elly couldn't help but hold tighter, hugging him. She felt in her heart that she may have finally found that special someone. "Finally. Someone who understands me." She kissed him on the head, knowing no one could see them. "That's from the heart, baby. You're the first to ever show me any kindness aside from my parents."

"Well, not for me," Elly said. "Seeing as my mother was an Absol, I inherited her long lifespan, though shortened a bit because of the Eevee blood in me, which is now Umbreon blood. So, I'd live about 70 years or so."

Inigo picked one of the berries, a relative of a Rawst berry that was small and red and tangy. "Love these." He handed the berry to Elly, then took one for himself and stuffed it in his mouth.

Elly took a nibble of the berry, liking the taste right away. She ate the entire thing right there. "That was very good. Thank you," she said, blushing as she nuzzled up against him.

Inigo nuzzled her in return, "oh hey no problem, babe, just saw the berries...and I was gettin' kinda hungry, so, one thing led to another." To be honest he was feeling ready to get frisky right there and then, but he knew Elly was in no shape to consent to anything or not consent, plus she'd just been through something pretty awful, so he wasn't going to come on to her right now. He had no doubt there'd be time for that later. Right now he was feeling more like just sharing his life with her. He picked another berry and handed it to her, then picked a fourth and popped it in his mouth. "Y'know, I better come clean on this now before we go any further. I'm on a quest."

I dun wantcha doing anything you end up regretting. We only just met, you know?" Inigo nuzzled her warmly. "Promise soon though. Only so long I can hold back from a beauty like you, babe. anyways. I'm on a quest to save my homeland from the destruction it's undergoing. There are these nasty critters overrunning it and just--wrecking the whole forest. They've devastated just about everything, and are turning the lake into a big septic waste dump."
