Name of species: Hill Dennukai
Elemental type{s}: Electric/rock
Size: Rams, average 15 feet tall, ewes average 12 feet tall
Method of reproduction: sexual, w/live birth. Pregnancy lasts 16 months.
Description/Appearance: Hill Dennukai are one of the largest of the Dennukai, of which 6 species are currently known. Like all Dennukai they have horns on their heads as well as 5 to 7 horns sprouting out from the backs of their necks and shoulders, along the spine. They look similar to heavily built Ampharos, with a thicker neck and sturdier flippers. They are coloured from fawn colour to mahogany, with black stripes over their tails, necks and backs, and black on their ears. There may be a lot of black or barely any at all. The horns and hooves vary from ivory to brown. In males the horns on the head are long, thick and ridged like those of a wild goat. In females these horns are much smaller and pricklike. The males have only slightly larger/longer spinal horns than the females do. Their bellies are a lighter colour than the body, though never white. Eyes are from amber to black and head and tail gems are usually a brownish ruddy colour.
Disposition: Hill Dennukai rams are rather aggressive around other rams during breeding season, but the rest of the year they get along. Ewes are generally peaceable. One thing about hill Dennukai is that they are not particularly intelligent. They are also quite slow physically. But they are good at butting heads and throwing rocks. They are immensely strong.
Habitat: Hilly and mountainous regions with open areas are where Dennukai live, in regions where it is not too cold or hot. They migrate to lower altitudes in winter, and higher ones in summer.
What does this pokémon eat?: Grass and low-growing bushes mostly. They can get by on low-quality fodder over the wintertime, although they tend to lose weight during this time and make it up again in spring.
How common is this pokemon?: Dennukai are spread over the main continent, with at least one island species known. Hill Dennukai are relatively common in habitat that is suitable for them.
Hill Dennukai are the largest ampharan species found in the Erymire region.
