Name of species: grulik
Elemental type{s}: Electric
Size: Colossal. Typically males grow well over 1000 feet tall, females over 700 feet. They're good at big.
Method of reproduction: sexual. Pregancy lasts many years, after which the gretta {female} gives birth to a single lamb. This lamb is in its first stage of evolution, and the shock of birth causes it to evolve to the second stage, more than doubling its newborn size. They evolve a second time when a little older, through happiness.
Description/Appearance: Grulik are distant cousins of ampharos. They are black all over--black skin, hair and eyes--except for a head and tail gems coloured anywhere from blue-white to light violet. They have three-digit hands tipped with black hooves. they have long straight hair on their heads that grows to the length of their tailbase. Compared to ampharos, they have short faces, wide ears, broad noses with large nostrils, and almond-shaped, slanted eyes. Their legs are stout and wide, like tree trunks, ending in slightly ovaline feet tipped with two black hooves. They are often decorated with jewellery that they make from bone, wood or stone.
Grulik are sometimes called the living mountains, or the storm giants. They create huge electrical storms with their charge. They appear to move very, very slowly in everything they do, but in reality they move a lot faster than they appear to. However, they cannot run or jump. They are far too big. They are thought by most pokemon to be silent, never speaking a word, and communicating only with their lights, but this is not true. They do use their bulbs to communicate, but they also speak just like other pokemon. Most other pokemon simply cannot hear them. They are so large and, thus, their vocal cords so big, that they can only produce sounds far below the range of most pokemons' hearing.
Disposition: Grulik are generally even tempered and live peaceful lives for the most part. They have no natural enemies due to their size. They live in a female-led society. The females, or gretta, and their young live in flocks from 5 to 15 individuals, led by the oldest gretta. When the gror, or males, come of age, they gradually leave their mother's flock and join wandering bands of gror. Gror live on their own or in bands, visiting the different gretta flocks to see if any are in season. Gretta can come into season at any time, though they rarely do. Only the largest, strongest males get to mate. Sometimes a dominant male will travel with a gretta flock for a while if she is in season. Female flocks stay in a smaller home range than males do, and these home ranges overlap with other female flocks. Grulik do not fight for territory.
For all their size and power, males rarely if ever have a serious fight with each other. Instead, they put on displays of strength, size and might. They size each other up. One will nearly always have a clear advantage, over the other, and thus they settle without a fight. Two males are often seen wrestling, but these are practice or play fights. Older gror teach younger ones to wrestle this way.
Most other pokemon think that grulik are extremely stupid and unable to speak or understand speech. Neither is true. Grulik simply cannot see or hear most other pokemon, nor can most pokemon hear the voices of grulik whose voices speak in infrasound. There is a belief, though, among some pokemon that grulik can predict earthquakes. The grulik have no psychic powers, but they can often tell when an earthquake is coming because they can hear the extremely deep infrasound given off by seismic activity.
Grulik are very fond of electrical storms and often cause them to arise just by using their immense electricity. Rain tends to fall more often wherever there are grulik about, and this helps grow foliage faster, which they need to fuel their immense bodies.
Habitat: Grulik prefer open spaces and open forests of guardian trees, which they need to feed on.
What does this pokémon eat?: Mostly leaves off guardian trees, supplemented with fruit, and fodder from other trees. Guardian trees with their large amounts of nutritious foliage provide the huge amount of food they need. They also catch/eat huge fish sometimes. Because they are so colossal they spend most of their time eating.
How common is this pokemon?: They are relatively common, although their size limits how many of them can be in one area at a time. Because they are so easy to see from a long way off, they appear more numerous than they really are. Grulik populate the whole of the main continent, although mysterious forces bar them and most other giant pokemon from the Erymirian region and nearby surrounding regions.

There are a few different species of grulik. All of them but one are located on the main supercontinent. The species mostly live in separate regions except for the pygmy forest species. They all fall under the genus Colossus.
C. vulgaris, the common grulik, is the one illustrated above. Males average 1100' tall and females about 750'. They are heavily built, with a smooth nosebridge, long hair, and all black colouration. They are the most common species of grulik, most common in the centre of the supercontinent. They number over 4,000,000 individuals and have a mostly herbivorous diet.
C. negri is a "pygmy grulik", one of the smallest species. It is still huge, towering about 600 feet tall for males and 400 for females. They inhabit guardian tree forests where they grow thickest, and do not usually venture out of these forests. The forests where they live are networked with wide trails which the pygmy grulik has created over thousands of years of travelling through these forests. In addition, they also make use of the even wider trails created by larger grulik species. A large portion of their diet is fruit from guardian trees. They have a lighter build, and smaller noses than any other species except the golden grulik. C.negri is all black, true to its name. Their ranges overlap with a few of the larger grulik species yet tehy do not interbreed with them. They are the most secretive of grulik and the most seldom seen. They are also the only grulik species whose first form does not immediately evolve upon birth. This may be a sign that they are a more primitive grulik species.
C. aurelia is the golden grulik. Their colour ranges from deep gold to light gold, always with a metallic sheen shared by all gruliks; their lights and eyes are azure. They have longer faces and smaller noses than other gruliks and are sometimes called the most beautiful of gruliks. They eat no meat at all. They survive primarily on the guardian trees' foliage although they will eat any foliage available. Males stand around 900' and the females about 600'.
C.azuri is the blue, or ice, grulik. They inhabit the far northern regiong of the main supercontinent. They are more sparse in their habitat, but have a large range and are actually the second most numerous kind, at around 2,500,000 individuals. They travel longer and farther to find food than any other grulik. They are coloured anywhere from pale blue to lavender to ice blue or even cobalt. Their lights can also be any of these colours, not necessarily matching the skin/hair colours. This means they have more colour variation than any other grulik species. Males average about 1000' tall and females about 700'. They have the smallest ears for their size of any grulik.
C. colossus is also called the snub-nosed or sometimes greatest grulik, and are by far the largest of the gruliks. Males average over 3000' tall, females over 2000'. They have the largest noses, as well as the shortest faces, with a break in the nose bridge. This is more pronounced in males. They are always black all over and more heavily built than any other grulik. Their lights are blue-white or violet-white and the headgem is ovaline. They are often considered to be the ugliest grulik. Snub-nosed gruliks depend completely on the guardian tree forests and to a much smaller extent the large fish they dive for and catch on the coastal regions. They can only live where guardian trees grow the lushest, especially Ratharah trees, which are their primary food. They prefer to migrate great distances between these lush forests rather than stop and try to subsist on lesser foliage. Other gruliks tend to look down on snub-nosed gruliks, considering them to be stupid and greedy. This stems from their huge size making them appear slow, as well as their great appetites causing them to defoliate quite a bit, forcing other gruliks to seek other greenery.
Snub-nosed grulik number a little over 1,000,000 indviduals.
