The Legend Begins

[Ren]

The flareon and pack leader, Eriko, stood up as straight as she could, looking over the territory she had claimed as her own. She knew her pack would be happy here. Not exactly what most may see as a leader, being smaller than other flareon and cursed with a chain around her neck.

Her bright gold eyes scanned the land. Yes, this would do just nicely. She watched other members of the pack go on their way, adjusting to this life...

[Paper]

Rose was practically ready to leap out of her fur to explore; as soon as her new 'leader' - she didn't like the word, but she could live with it - seemed to relax and some of her packmates began to wander off, she shot like a rocket to various points within sight of Eriko and the rest of the still loosely packed pack. There was the remains of some sort of den, overrun with savannah grass; there was the deceased bones of a cacnea discentigrating nearby; there were shiny bones hiding partially under the sand's cover. Every detail, every little thing, she needed to explore; she wanted to know.

[Mei]

Meki bounded over to Rose and Eriko, practically bursting with excitement. This place looks wonderful...
She nodded hello to the leader, but she was quickly hurrying away again, eager to see every last inch of the new territory. She jumped into the air, all four golden paws leaving the ground and her head whirling with happiness.

[Ren]

Eriko smiled as she watched Rose and Meki, thankful that they liked the place she had chosen. Deciding to explore herself, she walked down from the mound she was standing on and sniffed. She laughed at Meki's excitment. "Calm down or you'll run into something," she warned kindly.

[Mei]

"Okay," Meki called, grinning sheepishly. She managed to reign her hyper energy in some, but she continued to bound around happily.
Her dark eyes were as round as coins as she gazed across their new home, and, despite her promise to calm down, she let out a crow of delight.

[Ren]

Eriko sighed and chuckled slightly, walking away from the excited Meki. She looked around. "I wonder where the others are..." she muttered to herself. She knew that they were probably just exploring like the two with her.

[Mei]

Moving slightly more slowly, Meki wandered through the grass. A waving strand caught her eye, and she batted at it with one paw. Grinning slightly, she moved on.
Feeling the warmth of the sun on her fur, the happy Jolteon broke into a run. She leaped into the air, grinning- and frowned as water splashed into her face.
Her paws were planted in mud at the edge of a small pond, with clear blue water. It looked like a great place to swim!
"Hey, Eriko!" she called back to the pack leader. "Look what i found!"

[Ren]

Curious, Eriko walked towards Meki. "What is it?" she asked, then saw the pond. "Wow...it's pretty," she stated happily. But deep down, though she would never admit it, she knew she would never ever get into it. She always believed in facing her weaknesses, but water would have to wait.

[Shadowsar]

The tall grasses shifted around unnaturally, though it was hard to be seen in the steady breeze. If one would care to inspect, they might see a tiny vulpix laying hidden, her black pelt blending in with the shadows of the stalks. However, nobody had really cared. So it was in this way that the young vulpix kit had snuck into the terrain, unnoticed and unseen.

Takia focused her amber eyes on the group, or as much as she could see of it through the tall grasses. She licked a black paw, and ran it over her wonderfully-groomed violet hair. Her tail twitched with anticipation, but she had to wait for the right moment. A kit this small could easily be mistaken for prey, and she wasn't planning on having her life end so soon in its development.

Takia sighed, knowing that her "right moment" probably wouldn't come as quickly as she liked. She had no other choice. Takia puffed out her chest, stood erect, and walked out into the open. That pokemon with the chain around her neck seemed to have a very regal air, so Takia decided to talk to her first. Takia approached, and gave a bow of her head in respect.
"Are you the leader of this pack?" she asked. "I would be delighted to join it."

[Ren]

Eriko noticed the Vulpix and turned to her. "You want to join, hmm?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. This young one...where were her parents? Surely she wasn't travelling all by her self. But then again, Eriko herself had been in that position only a few years ago. "Of course," the flareon said. "Welcome."

[Shadowsar]

Takia nodded her head again.
"Thank you."
Takia had noticed the flareon's raised eyebrow; she noticed everything. She had seen the same reaction in many other pokemon she had passed, and she knew it usually meant only one thing.
"Yes, I know I'm quite small, but I am traveling alone. This was one of the reasons I wished to join this pack; I do not want to be accidentally mistaken for prey, and I know that packs stay together."
What she said sounded almost like sarcasm, but there was not a hint of humor in her tone. Takia had always been mature and serious, which was why she never made any young friends in her short life. The older ones always dissmissed her as unimportant, but it didn't matter to her--she was always on the move.
"May I inquire my new alphess's name, then?"

[Valor]

Ri, the Riolu, saw alot of pokemon in the surrounding area. He did a cartwheel over to Ericko, and then crashed right in front of her, still hurting from what happened with the Houndoom on the cliff.

[Ren]

Eriko looked at the Riolu in front of her. Only moments before she had stepped back out of reflex. "Be careful," she warned gently. She smiled at the vulpix. "I'm Eriko. Of course, I expect a name out of you now," she replied, still examining the Riolu, searching for serious wounds. But she smiled slightly. She felt something good was going to come in the near future.

[Shadowsar]

The tiny vulpix kit was knocked backwards by the force of the riolu's landing. Her brow furrowed for a moment, and her amber eyes darkened.
"I tell you sir, that that was quite uncalled for."
She shook the dirt out of her glossy black pelt, licked her paw, and quickly washed her shining purple hair clean. She regained her composure, and turned to her pack leader.
"It is a pleasure to make your aquaintence, Eriko. My name is Takia. And," she turned to the riolu who had so rudely interrupted, "may I inquire yours?"

[Ren]

Eriko looked at the Riolu. "I'm afraid I must check on the others," she told both of them. She turned and walked about two steps and then turned again. "It was a pleasure meeting both of you. You may come if you like," she said, turning away and started to walk in another direction. She notied Rose and motioned with her head for the hybrid to come over towards her.

[runewolf]

Nivar slipped through the savanna grass. He knew the pack he wanted to join was somewhere around here... or at least he was told it was. The 3 month old Houndour sighed looking around, he wondered where everyone was.
After a bit of walking he saw a flareon and some other Pokemon. He smiled.
- Must be the pack leader. -
He thought as he watched the flareaon. He barked happily and started walking towards the Pokemon.

[Valor]

"My name is Ri" Ri screamed at Eriko. "My name is Ri , I'm sorry for making you dirty, I'm still weak because of what happened with a Houndoom. I'm healing though, I hope someday I find my baby brother. Do you want to hear what happened?" Ri said to Takia.

[Ren]

Eriko lifted her head as she heard the bark. She smiled at Ri. "You can tell me about it later. Right now, I have to attend to something," she told him, walking towards Nivar. "Hello," she said with a welcoming smile. She could tell this new-comer was friendly, but she still made sure that she was between the younger ones and the houndour. But the new dog-type didn't seem very old himself. "What can I do for you?" she asked.

Nivar smiled, he could already tell that he liked this Pokemon.
"I'm here to join the pack. My mom and dad, when they were still alive, always said that Houndour were pack animals by nature and this pack seems like a really nice pack."
He smiled brightly looking up at Eriko.
Hehe, but I guess I should introduce myself. I'm Nivar the Houndour, 3 months old and proud of it.
He pushed his chest out, trying to look as proud as possible.

[Ren]

Eriko laughed at the younger pokemon. "I'm Eriko; welcome to my pack, Nivar," she said. Turning to leave, she motioned with her head for the houndour to follow her. "We just came here, so none of us know the territory well. But you're welcome to explore as long as you don't stray too far away. And everyone is kind, so don't worry about making friends," she explained, looking around as she did.
