Furiko continued to move towards the herd, his rust colored body making him look far differnt than the average Rhyhorn. He was silent in his approach, but his size made him easy to see.

Epona lifted her head, and looked at the approaching Ryhorn, she pawed the ground a little bit as if preparing to bolt if there was a sign that he was a threat.

Furiko saw many different pokemon watching him approach. He said nothing, just moved towards the herd and found a small spot, then started to graze. ~If they wish to speak to me, then they can come to me....~ he thought to himself.

Thank you.ic: Eyomah Duffa watched over the proceedings in the flock, and with the mixed pokemon who often moved with it. She generally only concerned herself with the sheep, but wanted everyone to be generally happy. While that black mareep was with them, though, there would never be total happiness and equilibrium. She was surprised that the gundah hadn't killed him at his birth--if he had, she would have supported the action wholeheartedly. She chewed her cud and continued to watch.

Epona paused for a minute, and then she trotted up to the newcommer, she knew what it was like to be the new member of the herd. "Hi, you must be new, I'm Epona," she said a little timidly.

"Hm? Hello... I'm Furiko..." he said grazing calmly, "And yes.... I'm new.... to this herd..." He felt so weird to be near his kind once more, esspecially since the horde took his family and friends from him and he was chased away only to wander the lands.

"So what happened to you? I can tell that you lost your herd at the very least, probably thrown out, your not alone on that one," Epona says, and starts grazing nearby.

"I... wasn't thrown out.... I was chased away... from my herd by the horde........" Furiko said in all the pain that it was to say it.

The all-black mareep with crimson eyes slowly grazed his way over to Epona and Furiko. He had been listening in on the talk and thought that if he couldn't be a part of his own flock he would try to make friends with the outsiders.

"I only got seperated from my herd," Epona admitted. "I haven't seen my family in a year, I hope they're alright..." She said, and turned to look at the black Mareep, she had always felt kind of sorry for him, but never had the courage to say anything. "Hello."

" There's herds of rapidash who come around sometimes, out here," said Carni, taking a gamble and deciding to speak to them. He prayed they didn't hurt him, and he glanced at his mother, she was not far.

"Yeah, but, I guess I got used to being here," Epona says. "I've heard what the other's say about you, I think they're wrong basing you on your outward apperance."

Carni felt emotion well up in him and he tried to suppress it. " They call me...burakos...means Lightless."

"No one should insult someone based on their apperances, its what's on the inside that counts if you ask me," Epona said. "You at least have someone who doesn't hate you, and I would defend you, but I'm not exactly the loudest voice here..."

" Then I will defend you too," said Carni. He felt it was the least he owed her. "And I'm not *burakos* anyway." He blinked his strong golden tailglobe. Then he started to smile a little.

" A pleasure to meet you too," Carni forced himself to say. He didn't know why, but he found that sort of thing difficult to say. It was like he was afraid to say it, afraid to express pleasure in anything lest he get bitten and humiliated for it, like he had in the past. The other lambs had quickly learned to heckle him once they'd learned what the adults thought of him.
He saw his mother coming over to Epona. The ampharos gave the ponyta a grateful look. " Thank you so much for being friendly."

Thunder rumbled in the distant clouds. The wind whipped up as a storm approached. Carni felt electricity tingling in the air. His coat of short fur {he was a wild type mareep} stood up a little in the air. " I love thunderstorms."

"I'd better take shelter before it starts raining, fire type you know," Epona says, looking up at the clouds as she heads off to find shelter among the trees.
(I really don't know what kind of effect rain would have on a Ponyta, but I'm not taking chances.)

Carni watched them move off towards the shelter of the trees and sighed.
ooc: Yeah they would do best in the shelter of the trees although large herds of Rapidash can cluster together in a rainstorm and heat their flames up to create a joint heat effect that evaporates the rain before it can get to them.

Epona lies down under a tree as she waits for the storm to pass. I really hate to leave him like that, but I can't risk staying out in the rain, since I'm not in my old herd, I have to take shelter, but I'll talk to him again when this is over, she thinks.
(Thanks for the tip.)

Carni like the other sheep enjoyed catching lightning bolts as they came down from the sky.
The rain passed and left a moist but mostly clear evening, the grass cool and wet. Carni lay down to chew his cud by his mother's side. Once the thunder and lightning ended, leaving plain rain, the sheep had also taken refuge under the trees till the rain had passed.

Epona is getting a little restless as she waits for the rain to pass, she was used to at least a little movement. At the moment she just tried to relax, knowing the rain would end soon.
(Unless this is secretly taking place in Florida, then it would take awhile...)

ooc: lol. Well it takes place in a tropical/semitropical area, so quick thundershowers can move through sometimes. Especially in late spring which is what it is. Did you vote in the new poll by the way?
ic: Carni went to sleep with his mother and flock, on the edge of the flock with her since that was all he was allowed to do. They did not let him into the midst of the flock. That was where more popular members stayed--the most protected part of a flock.
Next morning the sun was shining and quickly drying off the grass. Carni woke with a yawn.

(Where is it?)
Epona was pretty much the same, not because she had to, but mostly because she chose to stay away from the herd. She had lived on her own since she got seperated from her herd, and was really just now trying to get back into things.
She gets up, and sighs. Well, another day has come, bringing new possibilities, I wonder how Carni is doing... she thinks.
