Close to the Danger

[Darkfire]

Darkfire's body was covered in flames, due to the Flare Drive attack he was training himself to use. He'd been gathering information for a bit, and now needed to train before making a confrontation.
So, lets see. The group that attacked me was called the Horde, they take slaves, and they're strong. I need to learn to use Flare Drive if I wanna win any confrontations with them. Darkfire thought. He ran at a nearby pillar, breaking it into pieces with the Flare Drive. he smiled lightly, but feeling the recoil effects of the attack.
Looks like I should use it often. Darkfire realized. Now lets just hope I don't get ambushed or something by the Horde. I'm not even close to being strong enough to hold them off. Last time was just luck. This time, I need to do it myself. Darkfire rammed into another pillar, smashing it down just like the other one. He again felt the recoil.
Dangit, I need to push harder!

ic: Coipher cringed as the crumbling, old pillar fell down. There went his dinner. The tiny sooty ratatta had scurried away at the commotion. He shook himself off. The collum had knocked more dust and dirt on him. Once he'd shaken himself off nicely, he was revealed.

His black body glistened with health and age. He was a big cyndaquil, only because his evolution was near. His small muscles rippled in the dreary light and his blue flame was still big from the adrenaline that had pulsed through him when the pillar had practically hit him. It was a nice flame, he thought. Dark blue on the bottom and it slowly came up and was white at the top. Much nicer than a red flame. Hotter, too, or so he thought. All flames felt nice and warm to him. His tan belly wiggled a bit as he sniffed and then saw the other cyndaquil. He stiffened up and a little growl came from his mouth. His pale red eyes creased slightly, hoping the other 'quil didn't want a fight.

[Darkfire]

Darkfire was about to apologize, since it looked like he'd hurt the Cyndaquil, but then when it got in an offensive position, Darkfire did the same. The Cyndaquil was larger and older than him, Darkfire could tell that much. Probably close to evolving, which scared Darkfire. This older one had to be at least 3 times higher levels than himself.
Darkfire kept up the Flare Drive, just in case. He only had two questions for this new pokemon.
"Who are you? Are you with the Horde?" Darkfire asked threateningly. He didn't wanna take any chances.

"No the Horde is my enemy," said Coipher. If the other cyndaquil was scared of the Horde--which he seemed to be--then he was safe. "I'm Coipher," he added. His blue flame settled down a bit and he stood up a little bit.

[Darkfire]

Darkfire smiled lightly and let down his Flare Drive.
"I'm Darkfire." He said calmly. "And I hate the Horde as well." Darkfire sighed a bit, and shook off some of the dust from the pillars.
"Sorry if I scared off your meal earlier." Darkfire added before he forgot.

"Hey Darkfire," said Coipher with a smile. "Nah it's ok. There are tons of little vermin...I don't eat that much meat anyway." He shrugged. Loosing one little rat wasn't bad. He only ate meat when he felt like it. He was a good omnivore and preferred berries and apricorns. "Are you lost? 'Cause not too many sane Pokemon come 'round here. I live here because there's food and the Horde don't usually hunt here."

[Darkfire]

"Lost? Nope. I'm training. If I ever wanna be strong enough to help take down the Horde, I need to train my Flare Drive attack." Darkfire explained. He sighed, wishing he was as close to evolving as Coipher was.
"Hey, what level are you? You're a heck of a lot closer to evolving than I am." Darkfire commented. For a moment, his thoughts drifted to that memory of a Shadow Quilava and Shadow Typhlosion he'd had. Then he felt his mind come back to the present.
Dammit, that's been bugging me... Darkfire thought.

"I don't know really...but I know I'm close to being a quilava," said Coipher. "That's cool. Maybe we could get a whole band together. 'Cause a typhlosion or two is never gonna take down the Horde. It's just too damn big!"

[Darkfire]

"If those two Typhlosions were powerful enough, they could take it down." Darkfire smiled lightly. But then he chuckled.
"But yeah, a band of Typhlosions is a good idea. We could take a good chunk out of the Horde with that." Darkfire added. "All I know, I'm only level 5 still..." He added. Darkfire shot up, his body covered in flames, as he used Flare Drive on another pillar.

"A band of anyone, really," said Coipher. "We aren't the only Pokemon that hate the Horde out there. I know that, for sure."

[Darkfire]

"I really wouldn't know. The only reason I even know what the Horde is called was because I was looking for information on them." Darkfire admitted. Then he thought about something for a second.
"Hey...can I ask you something? It's kinda personal, but since you're against the Horde too I guess I could tell you..." Darkfire said.

[fya]

"What is it?" asked Coipher, his small ears pricking up a little with curiousity. "I'm dead set against the Horde. You'd have to be sick and insane to side with the shadow pokemon."

[Darkfire]

Darkfire sighed lightly, still feeling weird about this, but sure he'd wanna tell someone. Just to get it off his back.
"...My parents were shadow pokemon and possibly in the Horde." Darkfire admitted. He felt better a bit, after finally letting that out. He just wasn't sure how Coipher would react.

[fya]

Coipher frowned. "How'd you escape?" he asked. And then, seeing Darkfire was sad, he added, "Sorry to hear that. But being parented by evil don't make you evil." He patted the smaller cyndaquil on the back. "It'll be all right."

[Darkfire]

"I really don't remember how I escaped. I know I got separated when I was a year old, but I don't remember it." Darkfire said, a bit calmer now.
"And really, I don't think they were evil. I remember them looking down at me, smiling, like normal parents do." Darkfire added. Then he smiled lightly at the encouragement. "But thanks."

[fya]

"Yeah..I've heard that parents act like parents whether they're light or shadow. But it don't matter," said Coipher. It didn't to him. He could care less what son of a bitch was someone's parent.

[Darkfire]

"...I guess." Darkfire murmured. He went up in Flare Drive again, bursting through another pillar and again feeling the recoil.
"I think I'm getting the hang of Flare Drive." Darkfire said happily.

Vince runs and stops too get some breath, then sees Darkfire and Coipher. "Hey!" Said Vince. " Arn't you guys cnydaquils?" "Im a cnydaquil!" "Did you guys have too run away from your family too?" "I had too."

Coipher glanced up at the other cyndaquil. "Wow..lotta people here, yeah?" he said to Darkfire. He puffed out his chest a little and said, "Hey there. I didn't run from my family. Why you wanna know?"

[~Handy~]

"I dont know, It just came out." Vince said embarrenced, then sat down, looking at the clouds. " A thunder storm is coming, I can sense it." Vince heads into a cave and sits down.
Vince uses smokescreen without knowing he knew that move. "Hey!" I must have leveled up back in the rain forest, cool!" "Well, Im heading back too the rain forset, see ya!"

[Darkfire]

Darkfire quickly used Flare Drive to light his body in flames. He turned to look at the new cyndaquil.
"Who are you?" Darkfire questioned threateningly. There was a dark glare in his eyes that hadn't been there before.

Vince was about too leave, then said "Im Vince, and Ijust thought i would go for a walk, then i found you guys." Vince walks down the mountain into the forests.

[Darkfire]

Darkfire let down the flames as Vince left. He sighed lightly, and turned to Coipher.
"I think I'm gonna leave too. I wanna train in as many places I can to train with as many different pokemon as I can. We'll meet up some other time." Darkfire smiled happily, and began to walk back the way he'd came.

"Ok...see ya sometime," said Coipher, watching the two cynbdaquils leave. This was his home, no way was he about to leave it. "Bye."
