"Damn, but it went faster than I thought it would, I thought he'd get away for a bit," Chancol admitted, "but it means an easy meal," he gave a small smile, brushed off the charred fur and patches of skin, then dug in.

"Yeah," said Chyna with a smile and a nod. She then ripped some charred fur from the raticate's body and dug in with her claws. Soon dark red blood littered her golden skin on her arm. She enlarged her tail flame and began to roast the meat.

Chancol just roasted a few bits of meat, then tore off some raw ones, liking both tastes at the same time. He chewed quickly and swallowed, then went back for more, "So how do you like it in the Fortress?" the charmander asked, wanting to get Chyna's opinion.

"Well," said Chyna as she began to eat. "I like it..but really I've never known any other place. I was born here. My mom was born here too, though her momma was a prisioner. My pops..well he lived here but he left. Dunno why. I was pretty tiny. But I like the atmosphere. My brother..dunno what's up with him. All he does is talk of freeing us from the darkness and bullshit like that. Haven't seen him for a while..he ran away."

Chancol nodded, not really remembering his family that much, it was more so a blur. He knew he had a few siblings running around that he never got to know.

Duran listened to the talk, watching over his siblings as they nursed and then rested. They were growing bigger already and would soon be able to eat solids. He found himself admiring the one who had saved them, the beautiful bitch Syris.
He had grown larger himself and hoped to attain the size of his arcanine father one day...he knew that was likely wishful thinking, but he did have size coming on. Maybe then she'd notice him...if he could take this pack for his own.

Chyna smiled at Chancol and then looked away and chewed the rest of her mouthful of kill. "Good food, stringy or not," she murmered, trying to fill the awkward silence.
***
Roy stopped the nuzzle as Syris let out a groan of satisfaction. His eyes danced darkly, seeming to say 'can't give you too much now can I?' and this was exactly what he'd wanted from the houndour bitch.
Syris hadn't meant to let out the groan. It had just come. She pulled sharply away from Roy and looked away. She looked at the pups and made herself busy grooming one. She took a quick glance back and saw Roy was sitting, watching her carefully. "Well!" she snapped. "What do you want?"
A bit taken aback, Roy decided to give her what she wanted. "Nothing babe," he said and padded away from her.

Duran felt a little jealous, but then, he was too young to really care deeply about her in that way, even though he had grown a lot since first meeting her. The summer was at its high now and he hoped he would be evolving soon.
One of the little poochyena pups looked at Roy and said, " Wha'ya want!"

Chancol looked up, "Yeah, I guess you can tell I'm not much of a talker," he chuckled at how Chyna reacted to the awkward silence. Silence doesn't bother Chancol very much at all, unless it is the silence in a dark, suspicious place. "Hehe, that's the main reason why I don't have very many friends, I don't bother to talk to many people," he said explaining that Chyna's uncomfortable reaction was just something that he gets quite a bit.

"Aww," said Chyna, putting a golden claw on his shoulder. "You should talk more..you have good things to say!" She had almost said he had a handsome voice, but that was just insane. SHe wouldn't stoop down that low even if her heart nagged at her like crazy to say it.
***
"What do I want?" growled Roy, glancing at the pup. "I might ask the same to you, bonebag." It didn't bother him much, but these pups needed to be put in their place. They were related to Duran after all.
"Don't talk to him like that," snapped Syris. "He's only a pup."

" Yeah," said Duran, daring to talk back to Roy, He just couldn't wait until he evolved . He wondered if maybe, like his great father, he could evolve by stone, but he doubted it. He wasn't an arcanine after all even if he had inherited a few of that species's traits.

Chancol looked at Chyna, shaking his head, chuckling a bit, "What do you mean 'good things to say'?" he asked, wondering when he said anything 'good'. The charmander got up and began to wander about through the tall grass. He acknowledged Chyna's effort, but what she did say just didn't seem to fit for trying to cheer someone up. Chancol wasn't storming off just because of what the other charmander said, but more so to explore the area a bit more, seeing wondering if there were any more odd structures around the Fortress. He left the rest of the raticate carcass for whatever Chyna wanted to do with it.
As Chancol pushed away blades of grass, he began to experience some pain in his head. subconsciously his claw drifted to his head, hoping for the pain to go away. He tried to remember what might cause the pain, but nothing rang a bell in the back of his head. The charmander took a few more steps before sitting down to rest, it was taking quite a lot of energy to keep his balance.

"I me--." Chyna broke off when Chancol walked away. She sighed. She guessed she'd meant he was interesting..at least to her. The amber charmander looked at the kill and tore a bone off it. It was a thin, weak bone and she easily snapped it with her claws and flung each half at a nearby tree one by one. They made a nice crack sound when they met the tree's hard dark brown bark and it gave her a smile. Chancol would come around. She knew he would.
***
"I don't want to hear your squeaky voice talking back to me, kid," growled Roy, his tail lashing. The dull ache of his head came back at the sound of Duran's voice. Evolution had made him feel older than the rest of the puppy pack. He was just an adolesant like the rest of them, though and he had simply hit evolution faster then them. After all, Syris was unveolved, yet she had had her own litter before they'd been killed when her pack had been captured.

Duran just gave him the most hellish glare he could muster, not saying anything. He then mumbled that he was going off to hunt something else down for Syris and loped off.

Chancol slowly regained his composure, his headache fading for the moment. As time went by he finally went back to where Chyna was, he stuck his head through the grass, "I thought you 'couldn't let me outta your sight'," he laughed, "If you're that bored let's go explore the area later... I have a headache at the moment." Chancol sat down next to the golden charmander, grinning, he came back because if he passed out from a headache, he didn't want to be alone when it did happen.

Roy flicked his tail dismisivly. He knew he should go hunt as well...it wouldn't be like anyone would bring any kill back--just scarf it all down. He wondered how Dalla and Raker were doing with their hunt. He hoped there was a lot of prey around here since numerous dogs were out hunting: Dalla and Raker, most of the weak houndour bitches, Duran, and a few of the other puppies. One small Vulpix/poochyena pup had managed to kill a ratatta and had brought it back to eat with her friends. The smell of blood tempted him to leave and hunt. But maybe he'd get lucky and someone would bring somthing back. Besides, someone responsible had to guard the camp of weaklings.
***
Chyna grinned and laughed. "Oh you want me trailing you everywhere, huh? Oh I bet you like it." She stood up and put an arm around his shoulders. "Lets stay here for a bit. It's quieter here then with all those puppies and stubborn bitches," she suggested. "For your headache."

Raker was having less luck finding any prey than he had hoped. "Maybe we'll just go to the dungeons and eat a prisoner," he mused to Dalla.

Chancol nodded, "Yeah, I dunno why I'd be having headaches now. I never have headaches unless they are caused by something," the dark green charmander said, shrugging. He wondered if Chyna liked him at all, more than just a friend.

Dalla nodded and chuckled. The umbreon then said, "Not a bad idea, all I can get a whiff of are damn rats." And she was way above eating them. She wondered how the rest of their growing pack would fare, especially the boney houdnours.
***
"Maybe it's because there's less dark energy around?" It had been some time now since the aruseus had come and caused trouble, that had been back in the spring. Now it was midsummer and the Fortress was getting weaker. The golden charmander shrugged, but still smiled. "You could be catching something..a sickness, ya know. It'll get better. Or I'll make it." She softly kissed his cheek. She hadn't really meant to go that far, especially with Chancol not in the greatest mood. But she had.

Scrappy winced when she said "rats," though the wince was involuntary. " Maybe it's a good thing that the fortress is overall weaker...so we can have an easier time taking it over." Meh--he had to go check that female in the dungeons to see how his young were doing!

Chancol grinned, and leaned gently against Chyna, "Thanks..." he sighed happily, nuzzling her a little. His face was shaded with some red, blushing from the kiss. He suddenly remembered that he had hit his head when hunting that phanpy with Scrappy, "Ah...I remember...I hit my head on a tree when hunting that phanpy a while back..." he said, his hand gliding over the knot he had on the back of his head.
He looked into Chyna's eyes, in much a better mood than earlier. He wondered why femmes had this much power over males... ~Oh well, she's nice and pretty,~ he thought as he sat next to the golden charmander.

Dalla had practically forgotten Scrappy had been around. The umbreon laughed and said, "Hey maybe if you weren't so busy with the ladies than there wouldn't be so many fucking baby rats around here!" She grinned back at him and said, "to the dungeons now."
***
Chyna couldn't help becoming a little pink herself, but she had soon forgot about it and said, "That sucks..it'll get better though." She lay her hand on the bump on Chancol's head and stroked it for a moment and then gave it a tiny kiss. The golden charmander then lay her head on Chancol's shoulder. It was beginning to get dark.

"Well, do you think we should head on in now? Or stay out here enjoying the night sky?" Chancol asked, putting an arm around Chyna's shoulders. The other meal that they had caught in the middle of the day was beginning to fade, replacing itself with hunger. Chancol's stomach growled loudly, "Well, I'm hungry, wanna go get somethin' else to eat?" he said getting up, he wanted to enjoy the moment more, but he wasn't going to get caught out in the dark hungry, no one wanted to be attacked on an empty stomach.

"Sure," said Chyna, standing up as well. She had a good feeling that these moments weren't going to be extremely rare. "Feeling better?" she asked. He certainly sounded like his head wasn't hurting as much as it had been before.

"Yeah, it's faded quite a bit, I just hope it doesn't come back as strong as it did before," Chancol replied. "Let's go find something else to eat, hopefully we don't find another rat...personally I don't like the stringy taste," he said sticking out his tongue. ooc: took me forever to remember how to spell tongue >_< i feel retarded... ooc: Lol I always feel retarded. ;P
ic: "Yeah. I don't really like rats," said Chyna, though there were a lot for rats around here. She got up and began to walk, listening for a sound that might hint a good meal was near by.

The 'coo'ing of pidgeys were heard nearby, "Hey...I think there's something over there," Chancol said, brushing just a little bit of grass away, seeing four of the mixed brown colored birds. He waited for Chyna to be ready before he'd attack, with birds timing was everything.

Chyna locked her eyes on the pidgeys. They were chattering amungst themselves as they picked at seeds and worms in the ground. A slight nod of her amber head gave Chancol the signal that she was ready.

Chancol nodded, then dashed out at the birds tackling one of the birds, trying to hold it down as it fluttered and struggled to get out from under the charmander. He scratched its wing before it freed itself, but unable to fly. He turned to see if Chyna was able to get anything.

Chyna leapt on a small, but still fat, pidgey thinking that Chancol could get his own. One bird wouldn't satisfy two charmanders. She had leapt at the same time as her friend so that she still had the element of surprise. She was now wrestling with the bird. Its claws raked her chest and in return she blinded it and cut its flight feathers off with a good swipe of her claw. It fell back and she took a moment for a breather now that it wouldn't get away.
