[Mercury]

The young Quilpix looked up at the volcano before her. The heat that radiated from it was certainly inviting, and Mercury's ruddy orange markings suddenly glow with magma as Mercury's excitement rose. Her mother had suggested this be the first place the Quilpix visited, for her brothers had all ventured off into more dangerous territory. Here, Mercury could explore without worry of falling into water or (hopefully) running into trouble.

Mercury snorted with determination and began to scale the slop of the volcano, feeling the temperature rise as she continued on her way up. Hopping up onto a ledge, Mercury discovered a cave. "Hmn," Mercury hummed before entering, but paused and suddenly growled with anger, causing her pads and shoulder blades to burst into flame that lit up her dark path in the cave, and she continued on.

[Rachel]

A Ninetails watches silently from a small chamber above the main cave that mercury is in.Her eyes glow a dark red jumps infront of mercury. She growls and flares her tails.He opens her mouth and shoots a giant fire ball at the quilpix. She bares her teeth and growls.

[Mercury]

Mercury yipped with surprise and sunk to the ground as the Ninetales appeared and flared out her nine tails. The red glare in her eyes causes her pads and shoulders to douse out and the magma to flow through her markings. She had thought that there was nothing to fear, here, but she was sure wrong.

The fire attack that hit her only triggered her special ability called Flash Fire, which just made her own fire attacks stronger and other fire attacks against her weaker. The fire ball didn't hurt her, but she was still too scared to move. As the Ninetales began growling at her, the scared Quilpix whined and covered her muzzle with her paws, shaking with fear.

[Rachel]

The ninetails stops growling and stares. "Will you attack?"Asks the ninetails. Two vulpix's poke their heads through the hole in the ceiling that ninetails had come through.

[Mercury]

Qwivering, the Quilpix heard the Ninetales' question. Removing her paws from her muzzle, she shook her head no. "I had no intention to what-so-ever! I was just exploring." Mercury explained, glancing up at the hole the Ninetales had jumpped through. Two vulpix where looking down upon her. So that's what she was defending, her cubs.

"I didn't know, I'm sorry... I've never been here before."

[Rachel]

The ninetails blinks and says, "sorry about that. It's just very dangerous around here. Anything could be a threat. Maybe you should stay with me." She jumps back into the hole and waits for the quilpix.

[Mercury]

"R-really...?" She asked, hearing that it was dangerous around the volcano. So much for being a safe place to explore... Mercury looked up at the Ninetales, who was now suggesting that she stay with her. The air around the Ninetales was now much calmer, and she was sort of reminding her of her own mother.

"Okay," Mercury finally said, shakily standing and then leaninging back down toward the ground to store power in her legs to leap up into the hole with ease.

[Rachel]

The two vulpix's immediatly approached the quilpix. The ninetails said, "I'm Flare. These are my children, Neo and Zack. What's your name?" She flicks her tails.

[Mercury]

The Qulpix looks up and around, absorbing the details of the place she was in. Soon, she was greeted by the two Vulpix. Mercury smiled and sat down to face their mother as she introduced themselves to her. "My name is Mercury." The Qulpix said with a smile.

[Rachel]

"Well murcury, make yourself at home"Says Flare.The vulpix's jump down to the main cave and return a few minutes later with a bunch of hay. They go to the back of the cave and place it next to 3 other piles of soft hay. The vulpix's run back to flare and sit down next to her.
