Lala dried her tears and returned to the herd with the others. So did Natalya. Ace and Pax and them weren't returning and in Lala's mind...she wanted to believe it was all Rikku's fault. If he hadn't come, then they wouldn't have attacked him and been driven out. " Why did all that happen Mommy? Why did they attack him and then they all had to run away?"
" I'm not sure," said Nakeela, and that was the truth. " Maybe someday they'll return, but not right now. Right now we need to leave this place and find a place more suited to us, and one where we can be safer."
" We have to move again?" said Natalya. " Uggggh." She rolled her eyes.

ic: "Would you be kind enough to let Caloura and I join you?" asked Shyis. She was afraid the other tropious wouldn't want her and her daughter. But she desperatly needed a herd and she, like them, needed to get away from the bull.

"Thank you," said Shyis. "This place holds dark memories of my own so a move will not be an annoyance." The tropious cow was relieved. She felt much safer with others of her kind again. After the entei had wiped out most of her old herd she was always edgy.
Caloura approached Lala. "Hi," she said shyly.

" Creat got eaten, but they thought the Herdfather did it, but the Herdfather wasn't with us then. We only met him here. So he COULDN'T have done it!" Lala stamped her foot. Stupid Ace...and stupid Pax. But their stupidity in that situation frustrated her, because she really did like them.

Nakeela gasped when she overheard what the other calf said about the Herdfather. Tropius law said that if you joined a herd or were part of a herd, the Herdfather had to be respected. He was dominant and the protector of the herd. To speak out about him this way was unthinkable. " We do not speak this way of the Herdfather," she said to both of them.

Caloura ignored Nakeela. It was obvious no one liked Rixun and when had he become herdfather anyway? Just walked in and took over? Totally unfair.

Nakeela sighed. It seemed that this was a stubborn calf, but she was just a calf. It was understandable. Eventually she would come to understand.

Rixun just let them chat it out. Calves could say anything and get away with it, he wouldn't say anything against them. Really, he thought, they were lucky to be alive.

Lala sighed. The other two had picked such good pokemon to be. She couldn't think of anything. " What do I be."
" You can be a pikachu," said Natalya as she tried to think of something. " Or a pichu. They're cute."
" I don't wanna be a pikachu or a pichu."

" I don't wanna be the predator again," said Lala.
" I'm not being a predator, I'm being an espeon," said Natalya. " Well, it's a predator but it's not a mean predator that tries to kill everyone. You have to be the predator."
Lala wondered why she always got stuck playing the predator. It was because she was the youngest and everyone else always got their way. "I don't want to be the predator...."
" You have to or the game won't work!" said Natalya.
" Fine I'm not playing," said Lala, and she started to walk away.
" No wait," said Natalya. " Please play, please please."
Lala sighed loudly. " Okay. But I don't--"
" I know, I know. You can be a houndoom," said Natalya.
" Hmmm." Lala wasn't sure. " Is that really a mean predator?"
" No, not really," said Natalya. " We still run away from it but it's not that mean."
Lala got the faint feeling she was being tricked again, but decided to give it a try. " Okay."
Natalya took off flapping into the air. " A houndoom! FLY!"
" You're a flying espeon?" said Nadillia, smirking at her younger herdsister.

Caloura thought they were being sort of mean to Lala, but she didn't have a say. At Natalya's cry, she got off the ground. She'd been just learning to fly and wasn't very good at it. She flew off keeping towards the ground.

" Hey no fair!" said Lala as Natalya, Nadillia and Caloura took off. She tried to flap into the air as well, and managed to get her feet off the ground for a brief few seconds. " Hey, I'm learning to fly!"

Caloura giggled. She was only about three feet off the ground but it was enough for her. "Keep trying then," she called back to Lala, "that's how I got the hang of it!" Or however much hang she had of it.

Lala kept up her trying, and soon she was able to fly a longer distance. But not really high like her herdsisters were doing.
Nadillia had landed once more. " That's good Lala! Keep flapping your wings, and when another breeze comes it'll make it easier."

"Yeah," said Caloura. She hovered where she was, waiting for Lala to catch up some. Even though she wasn't that great a flier, she was still proud of where she'd gotten to in her own flying progress.

Lala was doing more running than flying, but at least she was getting off the ground. She flapped furiously trying to catch the wind and again lifted off her feet.
" Go Lala!" Nadillia ran and flew alongside her little herdsister.
