Shadow, a 5 year old Treecko, was enjoying the nice calm forest and the many berries that this part of the woods is known for. He relaxing up in one of the trees, his darker coloration making look more like a shadow of a Treecko rather than a just a normal Treecko in the shade.

" He's somewhere around here," said the voice of a growlithe bitch from the nearby trail.
" How do ya know that when we don't even got the smell of him at all?" said a second voice, this one belonging to a male.
" I know," said the female. She was a normal coloured growlithe except her fur was a little more tawny instead of orange. " Shuffle would head down this trail."
" Hmm...I dun smell Shuffle but I smell treecko," said the male.

Shadow heard some chatter nearby, it was just loud enough that he could tell it must be a dog of some sorts by what was said. ~Uh oh... just what I need, some damn dogs coming along and tryin' to make dog chow outta me!~ he thought to himself, ~Hmmm.... I need to get to higher ground, I really don't need to start a fight, esspecially if they're fire types.~ He hopped up to higher tree as quietly as he could. Then he looked down and watched the grounds to see where the pokemon were.

Both growlithes stopped and looked around. The first one raised her head, looking up at the tree. "Skell... It went up there, I heard it."
" Well that's out," said Skell. He sat and scratched an itch.

Shadow carefully eyed the two pokemon. He was just going to wait them out, he didn't want to sit there all day though, but he couldn't face off with the two Growlithe, they were fire types, they'd roast him easily.

The growlithes moved on in their search, since they hadn't found him in this area and no treecko was just stepping up to be their next meal.

Shadow sighed, ~Well... at least their gone...~ he thought calmly. He was almost curious what they were looking for, but he didn't want to be a meal for those growlithe. He looked around to see what else was on the move here, ~I wonder if there are any other Treecko living here...~ he thought quietly.

There were signs of other treeckos, in fact, a whole pack of them and their evolutions who had passed near some time ago.

Shadow carefully looked around and spotted traces of other Treecko and evolutions. ~Hmmm.... I'm going to follow these trails... they have to lead somewhere...~ Shadow thought to himself. He started jumping from tree to tree following the traces of the other pokemon.

The trails soon became fresher and fresher, leading slowly on towards a full pack led by a sceptile.

Shadow soon arrived on the pack. He moved closer, knowing he had probly already warned them of his presence, he wasn't very good at hiding from others of his kind. He remained silent, waiting for them to speak first, if they did at all.

It wasn't long before they noticed his presence. They were keenly tuned into the forest and its inhabitants. One grovyle turned her head to look, then spoke to the alpha. The sceptile stepped towards Shadow. " Ahh, an intruder?"

Shadow eyed the alpha carefully. "Intruder... no." he said calmly, "Just, a treecko exploring the world... with no home of which to speak of..." He remained calm with no intent to fight, just to meet the pack, and possibly join.

"Somewhat, enough to get by, but that's about it. I've had little experience with hunting with a pack yet, or dealing with something larger than myself." Shadow said calmly. He knew four attacks, Pound, Leer, Magical Leaf, and Grasswhistle. He calmly told the Alpha these four attacks. "May I join your pack?"
ooc: I did check Serebii's Fourth Gen. Pokedex to conferm these attacks. Pound and Leer he starts out with, Magical Leaf and Grasswhistle he was born with through his parents.

" They don't seem to come here in large numbers, more like ones and twos, and they steal people away...never to return," said the sceptile. " One time we managed to catch a Horde member. We grilled him with questions, but he refused to reveal much of anything before we killed him."

"Maybe so... maybe if we work together... we might begin the end of the horde...." Shadow said with a slight smile. It would be something to look forward to and it would leave a imprint on the lands that would stay for many years.

The sceptile was not surprised in the least that someone would be coming along. Prey came to these parts all the time. She waited for the stranger to approach closer..
