" I've never been there!" said Alcatraz. " I've never even heard of this...Horde." Yet when Alcatraz turned psychic, he could feel a strong, strong pull of darkness coming from out in the east, like a deep hum in his mind that radiated all through him. Something was out there, something powerful and he didn't know if he could even stop it. " Oh...Sassano...Lelaka do you feel this...huge force?"

"Yes," said lelaka. She looked at Cirenze and Jarreth. "Do you two know anything of this Horde that I've heard of? This total darkness?"
Jarreth grimanced. "It's in the eastern mountains. No one comes back alive. Evil Pokemon live there. If your friend is there, I would stay here. It's certain death, or whatever torture they do, if you go there."
"I DON'T CARE!" yelled Coralyn. "HE'S MY BROTHER!" She scrambled back on to Alcatraz's back, still crying. "You can fly. Let's GO!"

"I can't take you with me," said Alcatraz. He turned his head around, picked her up delicately in his mouth and set her back down on the ground. For a little kit, she could sure climb fast. " If something happened to you I'd never forgive myself. Lelaka, do you want to come or stay here and watch over them?" He himself was going out to have a look at this place. He knew he had the power to destroy it all, but that was the last thing he really wanted to do. That wasn't how his kind really solved problems.

"I need to come," said Lelaka. "He's like my own child." She looked at Coralyn and the two other Pokemon that had showed up. "All of you--don't do anything stupid." She looked at Cirenze and Jarreth who both looked a little older. "Keep an eye on each other please." She looked at Alca. "Let's go." She leviated onto his back where she'd rode so many sea trips back on the Arua Atoll.

" Are you sure you want to just leave them?" Alcatraz didn't think it was such a good idea. They were all just young kits. And who was this raticate anyway? He looked capable, but he didn't even know his name.

"I'm not letting you go alone," said Lelaka. "I can't. Sassano's my responsibilty." But then, Coralyn was too..and she was leaving Coralyn. But one of these older kits knew Alca so they must be safe.

" They might not be safe left here alone like that." Alca knew what he had to do, and that was use the power he had. He looked at the raticate. " I charge you with keeping them safe until I return. Will you do this?"
" Yes," said the raticate, who had a distinct feeling that 'no' wouldn't be quite an acceptible answer.
" Good, and thank you. Okay Lelaka," he switched to his psychic form, " let's go." And he teleported towards that humming source of darkness.

Coralyn glared darkly at the spot Alca and Lelaka had last been. Now they were gone. She frowned. "Not safe they don't know who they're talking to."
Jarreth laughed at the younger kit's statement. "You don't want to go to the Horde, kid. They probably shouldn't have gone. Better get used to me and Cirenze, we'll probably end up as your family. They won't be back any time soon."
"What?" This surprised Coralyn.

"Yeah, they took on an awful lot, going there. I mean no one returns from there--in a normal state." The raticate's whiskers twitched.

"No...returns?" Coralyn's eyes were big. Mom and Alca and Sassano..they'd never be back. "But he's an aruseus. And Mom's an emurit. They'll come back," she whispered to herself. It wasn't terribley reassuring to her, though.

Jarreth nodded. "I've only heard shit about that place." He gave Coralyn a smile. He could see she was pretty upset. "Hey you got two of the most powerful Pokemon around helping you, your brother should be fine."
Coralyn gave a small nod. SHe couldn't do much else.

The raticate was fast growing bored now. The aruseus and pixie were gone, robbing the scene of any awe-inspiring content it had had, and in addition, he had sworn to the god of pokemon to protect these kits. He sat down and dribbled his lips.

Coralyn sat there, holding back tears. She was scared. Really scared. Scared that she'd get taken away, scared that if she didn't Alca and Lelaka and Sassano would never come back. She whimpered softly.
