Cirenze poked around in the forest searching for her friend. She had no idea if he was near or not. Had he only intervened in her life once, never to appear again?

"Light grey? Is he an absol or something?" asked Jarreth. "But absols are usually with houndooms....ya know the dark blood or somethin' like that." He noticed that Cirenze seemed to be having trouble locating this friend. "Sniff for him," he suggested.

" No, he's bigger," said Cirenze, smirking a little. " A lot bigger." She sniffed around for him but didn't smell any sign of him. He had never had the strongest scent either, especially for a creature his size. She frowned. That's when she heard the laughter of a raticate not too far off. Whoever it was, that raticate sounded like it found something very funny.

" Maybe that raticate would know where he is?" thought Cirenze out loud. Raticates could be dangerous, though, so she wasn't sure.

"No, we met in the forest," said Cirenze. " But maybe his hooves left tracks...I dunno."
She started heading in the direction of the raticate. That seemed more promising than casting about until maybe they found him, maybe not. It was a big forest.

"Hooves? Is he like a grey rapidash?" Jarreth had heard of rapidash before, but he knew that they lived on the plains. They didn't like forests.

" Bigger," said Cirenze. " At least I think he's bigger. He has kind of a longer neck." She had only ever seen rapidash from a distance so she couldn't really say.

" We will, eventually, maybe." Cirenze felt a little stupid, but maybe that was just Jarreth trying to make her feel stupid. She came upon the raticate, but he didn't notice her. He was too busy watching someone else.

"Excuse us," said Jarreth, lifting a paw and poking the raticate in the back. It was the same size as he was. "We're looking for someone."

ic: The raticate dropped the berry he was holding and whirled around, his fur a little bit on end. " What--buh--uh--oh hello." He smiled, a little, but it was anything but happy-looking. " Uh who're you looking for?"
" My friend Alcatraz," said Cirenze. " He's an aruseus."
" Well I certainly haven't seen any of those prancing around these parts," said the raticate a little sarcastically.

" Yeah. It doesn't matter," said Cirenze, then regretted her words. It would only make her sound less sure of her own convictions to Jarreth.
She spotted the face of the mountain through the trees and decided to have a look.
" Whoa, looks like someone's been excavating," said the raticate, noting the pile of stone shards near the mouth of a big alcove. " Maybe an onix has been housekeeping..."

"An onix? I didn't know they lived around here," commented Jarreth. But it looked like something only and onix could do. Onixes were only myths to him. "Hey!" He spotted Lelaka.
Lelaka saw the three Pokemon enter. "Hello there," she said with a smile. "Can I help you?"

Lelaka laughed. "Nope, I'm an emurit. Ever heard of the six guardians? That's my type. Are you looking for Alcatraz?" She wouldn't have been surprised if the locals had already learned of Alca and wanted help.
Jarreth looked at Cirenze. "Wasn't that the dude's name?"

" Yes!" said Cirenze. " That was his name. He saved me. I wanted to get back here so Jarreth could meet him."
At that moment, Alcatraz teleported in with Coralyn. He hadn't had quite enough of a meal for himself although he had carried the liechi here for Coralyn. He set it down on the ground for her.
" There he is!" said Cirenze.
Alcatraz was surprised to see that she had returned. " Cirenze! It's good to see you again."

Jarreth's jaw dropped. He stared. "Are--are you really an--an aruseus?" He stammered, looking up at Alcatraz. The growlithe/eevee stepped back a little, afraid that this was just a dream.
Coralyn giggled and hopped off Alca. "Hi! I'm Coralyn! Have you guys seen a poochyena/zangoose mix? He's my brother. And he's been gone for a while."

" Yes," said Alcatraz, it was a little bit of a mumble when he said it though. He still felt shy over what his kind was when people reacted to it in amazement. He figured he would never totally get used to it. " And...yes. we're looking for kit of that mix. His name is Sassano."
" No I didn't see one," said Cirenze.
The raticate was standing back further from the group. He was pondering what to say so that the aruseus didn't smite him or vaporize him or do whatever he might do to him if and when he discovered that the raticate had been tormenting one of his charges. ~Just MY luck!~
Alcatraz's expression grew more serious. He looked at the raticate. ~ You've seen him?~ he spoke in the large rodent's mind.

Alcatraz nodded, " the beginning dimension. We can go there at will. We also inhabit this world when we help fulfill the destinies of others and guard over the planet's well-being. And when we have young, which is almost never." The young could not enter the beginning dimension until they had become elemental. Alcatraz looked back at the raticate, " where did you see Sassano go?"
" He ran off," said the raticate. " Back there. I didn't see where he'd gone after that."
" I'll check it out," said Alcatraz.

Lelaka closed her eyes. She'd be able to feel if Sassano was in the area. She knew how to find him. "Don't bother Alca," she whispered. "He's gone." She blinked back tears. They'd find him. She let her mind search for him. "The Horde."
"Sassy? Gone?" Coralyn didn't bother trying to stop her tears. She rubbed her face with her paws. "Horde? That's whe--where Marcol lives?"
Lelaka nodded darkly. She looked at Alca. "Have you ever been there? We'll need to get him out."
Jarreth was still curious about the aruseus, but from what was happening, he decided it was best to shut up and not bother them anymore with his questions. He felt dumb asking questions like that anyway.
