Alcatraz found no words to respond to his mother's statement. He knew she was right. He had faced something similar with the pack, but back then, afte his mate's death he had been on the move much too much to establish himself as a real presence in the area like he was here. ~I'll try to stop.~ And in the meantime he would try to figure something else out. ~Please tell me who it was who told you this--who has been spying on me?~
~I can't tell you that. Alca, your father and I don't want violence among our kind to erupt. There has already been one upset in this epoch...~

Then she was gone, and in the morning Alcatraz saw no signs that she had been there. For all he knew she could have been halfway across the land.

Lelaka awoke slowly. Sleep had been excellent and she was fully revived and ready for the day. The emurit slowly levitated out of the hollow tree to see that the kits were still asleep, but Alca was up.
"Morning Alca," she said as she saw him.

Alca opened his eyes, still lying where he had fallen asleep, but he smiled a little at Lelaka. " Morning." He still smelled the sickness from the garden's ills, but it was clearing away. The bulbasaurs and their evolutions were going about their normal business, still perfectly healthy. Yesterday's accomplishments had not been a dream, and neither had his talk with his mother.
~Lelaka...I'm afraid I've messed up yet again.~ He would try to get to the point quickly with her. ~Healing every sick pokemon in the world or in an area is just not something I or anyone should do. My mother warned me about it last night, she said the community of my kind may be very upset about it. But I just don't know where to draw the line.~

Hachi paused, he had heard them talking. He stopped a ways away, and sniffed the air. The sickness was terrible, mind boggling, he gagged. "Maybe I should leave..." He whispered to himself, but, there were others there, maybe Rose was there too.
He walked forward, sniffing the air curiously, but no, she wasn't, he walked up to them. They all look so sick... He thought, " Hi." He said.

ic: Alcatraz turned to look at the cyndaquil. It was a different cyndaquil than the one he'd seen earlier. The aruseus nodded his head regally, since that was generally the way his mannerisms looked. Not out of any effort to look regal. " Good morning."

Hachi shifted uncomfortably, " Do you need any help?" He asked curiously, his eyes stayed on all the poke'mon around him, he wasn't used to this. Not at all. He shivered.

He couldn't heal everything...but when it just came begging and asking, how could he say no? ~But you can't just say 'no you're supposed to get sick and die' when Pokemon come and ask...,~ she added.

~That's exactly the dilemma I'm having. I can't refuse someone who's dying and comes to me for help. Maybe I ought to try hiding us a little better...~ Alcatraz didn't know how to, though, when word was out already. Word would only spread, especially now he had healed a whole garden. The worst part of it was, these pokemon could easily sicken again. The blight was still in the region.

~Yeah...maybe that's why most Aruseus live in your little realm,~ sent Lelaka. That was a good reason. Normal Pokemon wouldn't be able to find them and cry for help. But why couldn't alca help those who came to him? Or what if it was his friends, for example the kits, that were hurt?

Hachi stared at Alcatraz then tore his gaze away to look at his paws. Again he was feeling uncomfortable, and...alone. He was painfully aware of the way they ignored him, not on purpose, but still...

Coralyn saw the cyndaquil. "Hi," the zigzagoon/zangoose kit said. She padded over to Hachi. "I'm Coralyn. Who are you? Are you from around here?"

"Hi Hachi," said Coralyn. "Did the Horde get your friend? My brother--he's still sleeping--got caught by the Horde but Alcatraz save him. Alca's really cool." She nodded over to Sassano as she spoke. He wasn't her real brother, he was a half brother. Sassano was a poochyena/zangoose mix.

"Rose? That's a pretty name," said Coralyn. "Sassy almost didn't make it. But Alca made him better. It was real cool. Alca can make any shadow Pokemon better." She grinned and the kit wiggled a little with happiness. She loved Alca. If it hadn't been for him then her brother would have still been evil. "Alca's an aruseus. A god. So is my mom, Lelaka." She pointed at her foster mother hovering over near Alca. "Lelaka's an emurit."

Alcatraz had been heretofore, a little too shy to say anything. The usual reaction he got when people found out he was...it made him feel a little squirmy and hot under the fur. " Yes, what Lelaka says is right. It's nice to meet you."

" Don't worry...I'll be staying around here as long as you need my protection," said Alcatraz. He smiled down at her. He knew she had been traumatised by the events in the fortress, suffering things maybe beyond his imagining. As an aruseus there was likely nothing that could really hold him prisoner. He had been held almost-captive a few times in very early youth but nothing like what they'd gone through in those Alazar-cursed dungeons.

~50 years isn't much time it's true. Well, my kind isn't too happy with me, and even though there aren't that many of us it still would mean a lot to me if we could get along. They claim I'm not even an aruseus now. That I'm lost...I sometimes wonder if that's true. But my parents have stayed by me. They want to help me.~ At that moment Alcatraz felt their presence close, and his mother came walking out from between the trees. She was smaller and more lightly built than he was, and a lighter, warmer grey.
" Alcatraz," she said, like her heart would break.
Alcatraz went to her and nuzzled her. " Mother. How are you, it's so good to see you."
