Character's Name: Jay
Species: Shinx
Age: Early teens. Level 5.
Sex: Male
Description: Jay is your average Shinx; blue fur, black paws, short tail with a star on the end. His fur is always slightly unkempt and spiky, no matter how much he tries to flatten it. He's slightly shorter than most Shinx, and a bit on the skinny side. He has a short scar on his left shoulder, a reminder not to be too ambitious with his battling.
Personality: When you first meet him, Jay comes off as a bit devil-may-care. He considers backing down from a fight to be the ultimate dishonor, and is eager to show off. He's eager to take risks, and has never refused a dare.
In short, Jay is an over-confident risk-taker. Or, that's how the world sees him.
At heart, the young Pokemon is just a quiet wanderer who'd rather be left alone. He likes to explore new places, especially mountains. But he hides this side of his personality, thinking that he'll be perceived as weak because of it. indeed, he already has...
History: Jay was hatched from a Pokemon Egg in the Valley of the Western Mountains. He never knew either of his parents; they had left the Valley before he was born. His only clue to their identities was one of his egg moves: Thunder Fang, which must have come from a Luxray.
Jay lived in the valley for a year, hoping that his parents would return. But the lure of unknown lands beyond the mountains tugged at him, and he soon gave in to its call.
The young Shinx made the mistake of talking eagerly about his travels to a group of surly Geodude: they beat him up, calling him a weakling. Jay believed that all Pokemon felt this way, and modified his personality to hide his dreams of traveling to every place in Erymire. He began to get into scuffles on purpose, trying to prove that he was tough. But due to his relative inexperience with battling, he lost almost every one. He received the scar on his shoulder from a Sandslash, which told him to stop picking fights with everyone he met.
Now a little more cautious, Jay continues traveling through the mountains.
