"I'm tired of being so small and weak." The small bird twittered to herself, taking a large bite out of the juicy Pecha berry clutched in her claws. Aryll munched on the sweet-tasting food for a moment, and quickly spat it out in frustration. "If I was stronger, maybe my parents wouldn't have left me here! All alone!" The Taillow let the half-eaten berry fall to the ground with a wet thud as she began to weep loudly. "Talking to myself!"
She was on her own, again. After losing Shade and Shadow, she eventually found her way back to the Berry Bushes, where her lonely life had started one sunny day in late summer.
The flock was migrating to the South to live out the approaching Winter. Fledgling Aryll had only learned to fly a few days before departure, and was struggling to keep up with the others. Gradually, she fell further and further behind, until she was so far behind that she lost sight of the other Pokemon. Too tired to keep flying after them, she had sought out shelter in the branches of this very tree, waiting and hoping that her family would return for her.
Absorbed in her self-pity, she didn't notice the approach of another Pokemon.

An espeon watched tiredly as the small bird started crying. Poor thing, he thought, lost her family too.
He was too tired to do anything, though. He lost the will to do anything. Maybe if he helped her, life would come back to him. That thought made him pull himself to his feet and walk towards the baby bird.
"Hello," he called to her from a safe distance away as to not scare her.

"Hello,"
Through her sobs, Aryll almost couldn't hear the soft voice calling to her from below. The Taillow quickly dried her eyes and peered down at the Espeon. At first, she didn't know whether she should be afraid or not. What if he tried to eat her? But she quickly realized that if he meant her harm, he probably would have killed her already.
"Hi." She responded shyly, not fleeing from the Psychic Pokemon, but staying right where she was. A short pause followed. What to say now? She didn't want to seem rude."I'm Aryll, what's your name?" She asked, thinking it was the polite thing to say.

He smiled. "Nice to meet you, Aryll. That's a nice name," he replied. He took a seat, just watching her. What a cute little thing...why was she alone?
He remembered that she had asked for his name. "Oh! I'm called Auron," he said.
((Gah...my posts have been crappy...sorry. It's been a while since I've been Auron and I have to get into character, I guess.))

"Nice to meet you, Aryll. That's a nice name. Oh! I'm called Auron,"
Aryll giggled sweetly as the Espeon, who quickly introduced himself as Auron, complimented her name. "Thank you," she said, feeling a little bashful.
Happy to have found a friend at last, the little bird swooped down and perched herself neatly on his head. "So, Auron," she said, looking down into his face. "Whatcha doin' today? Do ya like berries?"

Auron's eyes shifted to try to look at Aryll on his head, though it was a very unintelligent thing to do. His eyes would hurt later.
"I do like berries," he replied, laughing softly. He realized how hungry he was. And the loud *growl* that came from his belly only agreed. "I like them very much." Heck, anything sounded good right now.
