Enjoying the Sunset (closed)

[talon]

Jay padded up to the top of the Volcano, Talon and Striker following. Destiny had come along with them, and she was excited to see the volcano. "Were here! We made it by sunset, too!" striker barked excitedly. Jay smiled as he watched Striker run around. Talon was digging a hole in the ground and setting oran berries in it. He had dragged some along when they had left. Jay bent down, ready to let Destiny off his back.

Destiny leap lightly off his back and snuggled into his chest between his front paws. She reached up and licked his chin lightly. "Thanks. And the sunset is so glorious. The sky is gold and pink." She said quietly.

[talon]

Jay smiled. "I can just imagine it right now." he said, looking up at the sky that Destiny said was gold and pink. He sat down, listening to Talon and Striker try to get comfortable on the rocks. He was about ready to fall asleep from the long journey, but he wanted to stay awake with Destiny. He listened as Striker and Talon's breathing slowed. They were asleep, leaving only Destiny and himself awake.

Destiny watched as the sun sank lower, and as the light glanced off her, her golden flecks began to shine. It seamed she was almost glowing. She knew he could not see her but maybee the splender of it might give him a minds eye mental image. She snuggled closer into his chest. "Jay...I love you." she whispered.

[talon]

Jay concentarted completely on the sky. He hadn't heard completely what destiny said. He heard 'love you', but nothing else. He had to guess what she said, and finally figured it out. He blushed slightly, thankfun that he had fur to cover it up. He pinned his ears back as he realized Talon had been awake the whole time.

Destiny say the pinned ears. She sprang away from him as the sun dipped below the horizon. Her fur stopped glowing and she pinned her ears. "What? I am not enough? Or am I just a toy for you? I tryly thought we had something special...It appears I was wrong..." She said, looking at her feet. She looked to the rising moon and her gold flecks now reflected silver light. She then turned her back and walked quietly down the side of the volcano.

Jay got up and stumbled towards destiny. "Destiny, wait! It's not you!" he barked down, trying to get her back with him. He sat back down, depressed. She was his first real friend- and she was even more then a friend to him. He threw his head down, wishing she would come back. " I told you she was trouble." Talon growled, sitting next to Jay. "SHUT UP!" Jay snarled, glaring at Talon. He launched himself at Talon, rolling around with him and biting his paws aggresively. Talon flipped up and pinned him down. "Dont make me, Jay. She was trouble, and you know it!" he snarled. Jay howled and flipped over, glaring at his brother through blind eyes. This wasn't like him. He was never aggresive. Striker lifted his head up and saw the two fighting. " Destiny left?" he asked, not even sounding worried. "Your all the same! I knew it! You guys need to learn to trust her more!" Jay snarled, laying down. He had still been tired, but he coildnt even close his eyes now. Striker shivered, and Talon just snorted. Finally jay managed to close his eyes, but he couldn't actually get to sleep. Jay whimpered. He missed Destiny already, and nothing would change that.

Was she really... Gone?

Destiny heard the sounds of fighting behind her as Jay called her name. She descied she would give him another chance...in the morning. She found a small hollow under a bush and made a comfortable bed. She knew Jay could not sleep without her...and she without him. She lifted her muzzle and let out a soft lonely howl.

[talon]

Jay pinned his ears back guiltily as he heard the howl. He could tell it was Destiny's. Why would she think he thought that way about her? It was Talons fault he pinned his ears back, and now he was blaming himself.

Why was he so... alone?

Destiny tossed in a fitful sleep. She kept haveing night mares about the mobbing. That had been the scariest thing in her life so far. She woke with a gasp and she stood up shacking. She stumbled out of her den and walked quietly up the volcano the way she had come. She say Jay when she reached the top. She quickly darted over to him and snuggled in beside him, not saying anything..

[talon]

Jay lifted his pinned ears as he felt Destiny's pelt rub against his. He could finally atleast get some sleep. He closed his eyes and his breathing slowed, drifting himself to sleep.

The cooing of pideys woke Destiny in to morning. The sun was risin and she got up and streched. Her little tummy growled and she scented the air for food.

[talon]

Talon woke up and yawned. He spotted destiny out of the corner of his eye. This was perfect. They were the only pnes awake. Talon grinned evilly and padded over to Destiny. "So your back..." he growled. "I always knew you were trouble..." he growled. He attempted to make a kill, launching himself at her. He missed, jumping over her and almost falling over the edge. He hung on with one paw, almost ready to slip into the lava. He snarled at Destiny. "You can never be trusted..." he growled, almost slipping.

Destiny watched Talon at the edge. She was torn, save him and risk her life, or let him die. She looked at jay and called, "Jay! Wake up! Talon is in trouble!" She darted over and pressed his paw to the earth, holding him as hard as she could.

[talon]

Jay shot his head up. "Talon!" he howled. He carefully padded over to the edge pf the volcano where Destiny was holding down Talons paw. Jay leaned down and grabbed Talon's other paw. "Stwikew! Hewp meh puww Tawon up!" Jay howled, holding onto Talon tightly. Strikers eyes widened when he lifted his head up and he dashed over, grabbing onto Talons ear. They tried as hard as they could to pull talon up. They managed to move him, but there was a problem. It was a slow process,

And the lava was rising.

Destiny pulled with all her tiny might. She could not let Talon die. It would hurt Jat and Strikers so much. What did it matter if he was mean sometimes. He was family and family is always worth saving.

[talon]

Jay pulled, trying not to fall in himself. Some sort of strength took over, and it seemed like talon was just a pebble. He pulled up Talon easily, and sat down, panting. What was the strength that had taken over?

As soon as Talon was safe, Destiny nosed his all over making sure he was ok. She dearly hoped everything was ok, and maybe...he would accept her into the pack. She finished checking him over and went to Striker and checked him over. Finally she went to Jay, she looked up at him and licked the underside of his muzzle.

[talon]

Talons eyes widened as he was pulled up. He had been proved wrong. He nudged Jay and padded over towards where he was laying. He layed down, panting from the shock of almost falling into the lava.

Jay smiled as Destiny licked his muzzle. He watched as Talon layed down. "Do you know how he slipped?" he asked, confused.

Destiny looked at Talon, and desiding to hide the truth she said, " It was my fault...I was going to find us some breakfast and Talon woke up and wanted to play. So... he tryed to sneek pounce me, but I heard him coming, so I dodged. He slipped and almost fell. Thats when we saved him..." Her tummy grumbled loudly and she giggled. " I will be right back with breakfast."

[talon]

"Talon wanting to play? He mustve gotten into something last night..." Jay sighed. He stretched and stood up. "Ill help you find some food if you would like. Striker can tend to any scratches Talon has." he said, bored. He wouldnt be able to do much just sitting there with Striker and Talon, so he wanted to atleast make himself useful.

Destiny smiled and said, "Well! come on! I found a nest of doduo hatchlings! They will be a nice breakfast!" She sniffed and led Jay down a narrow winding game trail.

[talon]

(lol, I just realized that earlier I said Jay watched talon lay down xD)

Jay strayed down the path, stating close to Destiny's side. He sniffed the air, interested in some of the scents.

Destiny stopped and went ridgid. Her body shook as she whispered, "Look. There is an archenine. We must leave quickly." She hastlily turned around and waited for Jay to do the same.

[talon]

"Wait a minute. I don't know what an Arcanine looks like, remember? And where exactly is it?" he asked, looking around confusingly.

Destiny shifted his muzzle so it was pointing at the archenine. "Over there and it is the evolved for of growlith. It is huge and very mean. We must leave!" She pulled on his tail and tryed to get him out of there.

[talon]

Jay nodded. He turned around, getting ready to dash up. He remembered what happened to Talon and slowly climbed up the side of the volcano, hoping the Arcanine wasnt as huge as Destiny made it seem.

Destiny followed Jay up and when the large dog disappeared. She sighed and said. "That was close...." She hoped never to see it again.

[talon]

Jay sighed and padded to the side of the small cliff they were on. He stared down, obviously bothered by something. He closed his cloudy blue eyes as if he were going to be able to see after he opened them again.

Destiny scenced the was something wrong. "Jay, love, what is wrong?" She asked, licking him under the muzzle again.
