The summer breeze barely faultered here among the wide groves of Spruce touching the early afternoon glow of the mountanous regions to the west, and all pokemon daring to call the slopes and sparce greenery home were there to welcome it all. Golem and short groups of Gravelers plodded from their hidden caves to seek the open warmth of the sunlight looking straight down upon their homelands while many other grass pokemon romped merrily through the underbrush and shade of the trees. The skies were clear, only dotted every so often with one or two wandering fliers seeking higher altitudes closer to the glorious sun. Then at once the world stopped, curdled by the sound of giant beats against the weathered gusts.
He screamed, a call deep and foreboding to any that knew him as a fair wanderer of these lands, none daring to question him simply for his demeanor. He called again, tones ranging from deep to a low nearly inaudible rumble as he watched many pokemon scramble for safety. The Aerodactyl swooped, clearing the rest of the land with his girth shown in his shadows that seemed more ominous than he dared. He did not seek sustinance, no, he only hunted the feeble magikarp that flooded the streams by the dozens, they were plentiful and nutritious as he knew was what he needed. His giant webbed wings gave a few shortened strikes against the open air slowing himself to a careful decent to a grassy patch below.
Long sharp claws met first with the terra before his taloned front limbs took his entire weight with a gentle thud. Jaws slung shut he looked about, the sure picture of an ancient and wise dinosaur ensuring his seclusion before growing into a lean yawn. His fanged jawline opened only a moment in revealing his icy blue tongue before slipping closed once more. The motion of the yawn drew a warming shake to him, starting first with his head before rocking down along his body, the motion slower and bulkier than any other animal...more expressed as if he were a stegosaurus shaking the plates upon its broad back. Living life among the stony plains high above was always what a winged beast such as himself desired, but as he aged he realized that comfort was found in many forms and thus took to rests in the woods, grass as his bed.
He sighed, only long ago had he been a battler, but only for mates and nothing more, now he was just a symbol that others avoided and in a way he was glad of it. He allowed his long webbed arms to relax, falling lazily to the grass below where a small sigh escaped him. Time was little spent as he dozed off, though never had he had the true chance to sit alone here for long, so little did he expect that this day would be any different.

An espeon collapsed when he reached the forest, too tired to run anymore. His persuers were gone, and had given up the search for him. But a red liquid continued to flow from a wound in his foreleg.
He noticed a large pokemon he had never seen before, but didn't worry about it. It was asleep, after all. It wouldn't cause him any trouble. It was probably the thing that scared his persuers away. He smiled weakly, silently thanking it. And if it were violent? Auron was ready to die now. Sure, he had no kids nor mate, for he was still young; and he never found his sister. But his leg hurt so much, and he was so tired, he didn't care.

The silence was always a bonus for that brief few minutes where the large winged dinosaur could enjoy the sound of his own being breathing, heart beating, even the gurgle of a well fed belly. As he listened to the world about himself and the noise of himself he came to realize an approach was being made which he quickly began to pursue through listening and the scents that followed. It was a quadroped, that much he could gather by the repetative forebeats it created, yet one was shallow and weak while the others were rushing to take place of the disabled. The metallic twinge plunged his sinuses curling the very midst of his mind, a knowledge he was well accustomed to as one deep blue eye blinked open barely.
An eevee evolution, an Espeon as he could gather which in his days he saw very few and was a little surprised to see one so high up in the mountains. He examined it on first note, keeping the depths of his lids solidly pinched to ensure that he would go unnoticed in his arousal. Its wounds were extensive, body form worn as his had once been long long ago, weary and beaten he knew this creature needed help. Slowly he lolled to one side, pulling the tiny grip of wing that tucked under at some point and raised a weepy skull off the earth. Leisurely he rose upon his hind claws and winged talons, staring down upon the smaller creature as if he were some new toy perhaps. Eyes shifting warily from the wounded he made his way toward the nearest brook filtering his way through the giant trees until coming upon a small gathering of luscious trees.
He was well aware of most of the plants around here but this one, with its large yellow fruits growing nearest to the sunlight, was of particular interest to him then. A gentle nudge of the thin trunk brought down gatherings of the glowing fruits, that of which he gathered quickly and efficiently in the length of his prehensile tail. Heading back he searched the Espeon, once more surveying what he was dealing with before dropping four of the fruits before it and using the rest over its injured limb. The squeezed juices escaped in a long steady stream over the bloodied wound cleansing and helping the healing along, thus was why he enjoyed the company of Sitruses so much, though eaten they did a much more sufficient job.
The remaining rines and pits were soon tossed to the wayside, allowing the usually solitary pokemon to return to his resting spot where instead he lay and watched the Espeon, assuring himself he did the right thing.
Seems trouble left you high and dry...guess luck would have it you wandered up here then!
His voice echoed in deep tones and set the pokemon into a frenzy once more, yet this was normal to him and he didn't mind it in one bit as he simply awaited some words from the other pokemon.

Auron looked up weakly, hearing a voice. Of course, he heard the creature move and had felt a light sting when some liquid was poured on his leg, but he took no notice of it.
He gave the bird-like pokemon a tired grin. "Yeah...lucky..." He then looked around and his eyes met the yellow fruit. His gaze went back to the strange pokemon and his eyes were asking if these were for him.

Granite watched with curiosity and hope that his work would do its job, sapphire blue of his oracles glossed over with absence of blinking while he stared. The espeon queried the fruit wordlessly, showing his misunderstanding of if the fruit was brought for him with which the great Aerodactyl responded calmly with a gentle nod. The wound itself had seemed to scab over, if only a little, stopping the consistant flow of blood slowly but surely. He sighed, dropping his large ancient skull to the ground a few inches from the espeon, glances passed as he shifted blinks to shut eyelids. He listened then, knowing that the chaotic surroundings of trees would prove faulty of his vision and that his hearing would warn them of approaching danger, all the while he listened carefully to the slowing rate of the espeon's heart, showing him that the pain seemed to be subsiding.
No matter, you're safe here. I am Granite, Aerodactyl of this neck of the woods.
He smiled, speaking with shut eyes as he simply fell to a silent watching of their defenses. Had this been any other Aerodactyl this espeon would have encouraged a rage, but Granite was far from ordinary...a guardian of sorts when the time was needed of one.

Auran had busied himself with the fruit, but did tell the Aerodactle his name and species, thought the ancient pokemon probably knew the latter information.
His wound was healing; it didn't hurt anymore. He stared at Granite in admiration, partly because he was a strange pokemon in the espeon's eyes, and mostly because an Aerodactle-he now concluded-looked like a vicious pokemon. But this Granite was not. He looked wise with age. He could ask the question that had plagued him through most of his life. It was worth a try.
"You...haven't seen an umbreon...running around...have you? I can...smell her. She was here once..."

His eyes fluttered under his shut lids as the espeon spoke on wondering of a previous passerby. In the usual life of Granite there was rarely a time he wandered to the ground unless the need arose or the desire encountered him. He thought long and hard, for only a few pokemon were met with his guidings and as he wandered through his growing expanse of a mind he found no Umbreon wandering anywhere near this mountain range. He sighed, eyes slipping open once more to reveal the deep hues of his soulful stare, head lifting again as he grew curious of why this pokemon would be curious of that? Had it a sibling that has long been lost in his wanderings and thus the reason for his injuries? He thought not, but stood and approached calmly, long clawed dagger-like digits of his wings clamping the earth as he drew close.
I have not, I'm afraid. I remember most pokemon that cross my path and not once have I met an Umbreon.
He shuffled down a little, an idea plaguing his mind in which he put forth, smiling only slightly as it was rarely noticeable beyond the long fangs protruding from his jagged jawline. He stood tall, reaching forward and gently grasping the espeon without a second thought. He swung his limbs gently and placed the small pokemon between his shoulders before leaning forward and placing his claws back to terra firma. He turned one bold eye to the Espeon, his smile broadening with each indication of his intentions.
Though, now I can help you. These mountains do little to suit me, and the skies are better for searching anyways...we'll find them for you, no matter what it takes.
His truly atrocious boredom peaking through with his wiles set forth, he chose now to join an adventure like he had never done before. Slowly he trudged forward, assured the small eevee-lution would protest, and as the ground dropped off he let his wings draw out and soon they were airborne and gaining altitude quickly. He roared and all below them scattered once more as soon the treetops were left behind and they were high above anything that could reach them without wings.

Needless to say, being a mammal-pokemon and thus not having the ability to fly, Auron's eyes widened as the ground escaped him. He had never been in the sky before, aside from jumping and such. It was a strange feeling too. Flying was certainly different.
Not only was exhilaration flowing through his body, but hope had returned. He would find Luna if she was still alive, having a "bird's eye view".
"This is amazing!" he shouted, glancing over at the ancient bird pokemon.

Granite chuckled, having brought up the hopes and assurance of the younger pokemon that he would find that which was important to him. He soared higher and higher, taking sharp glimpses of the ground now much farther below, yet the pokemon down below were still clearly visible to even the Espeon, not quite high enough to distort them into tiny dots that no one but Granite could identify. He beat his long wings a few times to keep at level until they passed the tip of the highest mountain and sought out the opposing side of the mountain range. He rarely came here, he preferred to stray away from this area as long ago it was his flight's home and they were ruthless, cut throat and dangerous. it had been long since they had all moved on or died out, leaving him the only one who remained alone of his entire group, to live out in secrecy and enjoyment of the company of less threatening pokemon. He let forth another call and it set the ground below in motion, anything with half a brain and the ears to sense his cry would scatter for fear of their lives, and perhaps one of them would be that Umbreon his new friend was searching for.
Keep your eyes moving, they all scatter quite quickly...
He bellowed, shouting a little over the screaming wind passing by them.

Auron's eyes darted around, searching every pokemon that ran in whatever random direction they so chose.
Disappointed, he sighed. "Nope. She wasn't there..." he told Granite. But he was quick to encourage himself. "But she's a weird one. She's probably waiting in the bushes to jump whatever pokemon looked at her the wrong way," he joked.

He sighed, surely discouraged himself at the young pokemon's words. Still, his eyes wandered to and fro as his hopes would not be damaged to find this Umbreon. So still he flew on and wandered beyond his usual territory. To the East he drew his strength in long strokes against the blank sky until the smell of death and darkness engulfed him. Wings rolling he stopped his forward motion, staring off into the distance where just a glimpse of the lands of the Horde could be seen. He knew there danger slept, warning all passers by to stay away. He screeched, floating high above the earth in one spot simply surveying their options.
My friend. I do not think we will get far if we stick to safe passages. Lucky for me I am a quick flier, so shall we continue on?
His eyes lit on the Espeon, he was ready for this venture but would the other be just as inclined? He hoped so, for the mountains had long lost their call to him and now the open world sought his heart out. He knew it could be perilous, even deadly to a great ancient pokemon such as himself, but it would be something he could accomplish for the first time in his long life.
((Did you want to take this to the eastern lands closer to the horde? Maybe find some others to rp with?? Oh, and will he tell him his name as well? if you want to move on post here and I'll start a new thread elsewhere after the finishing post from me here. ) [/size][/blockquote]

((We have to keep them away from the horde, because that's where Luna is and they can't be reunited yet! She's kinda in this plot post with Chancol and Zeelo anyway. But I do want to send Auron somewhere else now, so let's go! Do you want to start the thread?))

((yup...I'll start it. Actually, it's in Personal Expedition. Figured I would just throw those two in there as well to invite the new person in on a sort of open plot.))
