Searching for Experience (OPEN)

Kayuma pawed at the ground uneasily. There was something very wrong here, in this particular part of the forest. He was young, and didn't know many attacks. To be honest, he only knew Tackle and Thunder Wave. He could fake Bite if he had to, but he had very little fighting experience to begin with.

"Oh," he sighed softly, "I wish I'd thought this travelling thing thorugh... maybe I should turn back and head home?" He shook his head, deterimined.

"No! That's crazy talk! I came here to look for people to teach me how to fight, not to turn tail and run away!" Then he stopped, and sighed again. "I've really got to stop this whole talking to myself thing. Someone's bound to find me sooner or later..."

Dagger jumped from rock to rock, cliff to cliff, in search of prey or anything that could possibly interest him. He looked out across the horizon, the wind blowing through his thick white fur. As he looked down, a look of confusion crossed his face. There was an Electrike down there, far younger than him. "Odd." Dagger thought. "Not many Pokemon come here. Especially not young ones." Dagger narrowed his eyes and swung his horn, releasing a Razor Wind attack. He aimed it right in front of the Electrike, just to let him know that he was there, but not to hit him.

[Ren]

"My, my, violent aren't we?" a voice came as the attack made way. The clearly female voice seemed to do nothing to stop the attack, though. Nine golden tails swayed about lazily as a ninetails looked down upon the young one. She kept an eye on him as she looked towards the absol. "Now, was that necessary?" she asked. Clearly, since most of her life she had to take care of young ones--even when she was young too--she felt compassion for the little Kayuma. Not because she knew him personally-for she did not-, but because she felt resonsible for lost children.

Kayuma jumped back, gasping in surprise. Clearly the attack wasn't meant to hit him; just to warn him. He looked all over for the source, and, just above a hanging brush of lanky vines, stood an Absol. He whimpered slightly. Absol were usually recluse, and hardly showed themselves to anyone. Why was it acknowledging its presence now?

To his left was an earthy embankment leading up to it. Go on his instinct nudged him. His common sense said otherwise, but it couldn't hurt too much. Perhaps it really was just an old rumor anyhow, about Absol being harbingers of destruction and all.

He padded up to the Absol, spotting a Ninetales a few feet away, her eerie dark eyes staring at him, as if they were looking into his very soul. "Did you want to say something?" he asked the Absol softly. His fur crackled with electricity. Did the air here have to be this humid?

Dagger narrowed his piercing red eyes and growled deeply. He shot a quick, but angry glare at the Ninetales who had questioned him. He then jumped off the cliff he had been standing on and landing in front of the Electrike. His fur bristled with anger as he continued to growl menacingly at the young Pokemon. Dagger's blood-red eyes conveyed a single message, 'Get out NOW!'.

Kayuma backed himself up, breathing irregular. He wanted to shake his head, to yell, 'No, no, help!' but he couldn't. Could he? He wasn't sure.

"I..." he stuttered, "I don't know what your saying. Is this... your territory? I-I'm just passing through, honest!" His voice was as controlled as he could make it, only going half an octave higher than it would've if he were scared. His fur crackled with so much humidity in the air. All that electricity in close proximity to a conductor was really bad.

(OOC: Hope you don't mind if I join in here. ;P )

She sighed. Today was a slow kind of day, where no matter what she tried to do, nothing seemed fun at all. On days like these, the most she could hope for was that at some point things would pick up. Resigned to her fate this day, she put her head on her paws, closed her eyes, and began to doze.

When she heard the sound, Sasha quite literally jumped. What was that? she thought, looking around her quickly. When she discerned that she was in no immediate danger, she began to relax. It sounded like a rush of wind... she reasoned. Curiosity getting the better of her, she followed the direction of the sound.

The sight that soon greeted her was an interesting one. Apparently, an Electrike had gotten on the wrong side of an Absol. As much as she sympathized with the little guy, she couldn't resist having some fun with them.

She concentrated, closing her eyes so as to eliminate distractions. She had only done this once before, but she remembered the reaction it got. It's coming a lot easier this time, she thought to herself.

Sasha's efforts began to show, as the air around the Electrike and the Absol begin to shimmer. Soon, eerie orbs of flame began to circle the two, darting in seemingly random patterns, though in reality being controlled by the Vulpix. After she felt she had enough control established, she brought a single flame around, to pass directly in front of the Electirike's nose. And after this, Sasha opened her eyes, sure that she would not lose control of the flames, and wanting to see their reaction.

(OOC: Will-o-Wisp. ^-^ She just wants to mess with them though, not trying to hurt them or anything. <.<)

[Ren]

The ninetails' eyes widened when she saw the familiar attack. She was up in an instant, and before anyone could blink, she was behind Sasha. "Now, now, we don't interfere with other's affairs," she scolded lightly. In all truth, she wanted to see how Kayuma would react to the absol if it chose to fight.

Sasha quite literally jumped when she heard the Ninetales's words. As soon as she broke her concentration, the flames she was controlling flickered and died out. She immediately turned around to look at her unseen assailant, readying an Ember attack. I didn't even hear it sneak up on me! she thought quickly, scolding herself for being caught offguard. When she got a good look at who was behind her though, she faltered. It's... a Ninetales?

She didn't know what to do. The Ninetales had scolded her though, and she felt the need to justify herself. "I... I only wanted to see what they would do!" she said indignantly. "It's not like I wanted to hurt them or anything. I was just trying to have a little fun!" With this, she glared at the Ninetales, as if blaming her solely for ruining her own fun.

[Ren]

The ninetails, Ai, smiled as if she were laughing, but no sound came from her. She was just like Shadow, her "little brother", so Ai wasn't angry at the vulpix. "I know," she replied. She looked around. Something didn't smell right... Shrugging it off, she looked back down on Sasha. She sat, hoping to have a conversation with her. "What brings you here?" she asked.

(OOC: Bleh, this was harder to write than I thought it'd be. x.x )

Still somewhat uneasy, Sasha hesitated at first, but sat down as well. "I was just... passing through I guess. I don't really have anywhere I can permanently stay," she responded quietly. "I was nearby when I heard something like a big rush of wind. I came to see what it was." She looked back over at the Absol and Electrike, wondering whether or not they had figured out what had happened yet.

"Well... what about you?" she said suddenly, looking back at the Ninetales. "Why are YOU here?"

With the Absol pushing on him, Kayuma hastily knew he had to make his choice now. His breathing rattled in his chest, and his heart thudded heavily against his ribs. "I..." He kept breathing, kept back ing up. He felt the moment he;d walked through this forest that somthing wasn't right. Kayuma had by now back himself up against a tree, the Absol still approaching. Kayuma knew he was too weak to overpower him, so he'd just have to improvise.

Kayuma jumped on the Absol, pushing against him with his front limbs, back against the tree, and again against the tree and over the Absol. Adrenaline was pumping throughout him with such a rush that he thought he might actually stand a chance. It wasn't until he saw the Absol's horn and remembered he only knew two attacks that he turned and bolted off, using his leg muscles as much as he could. That Absol was fast, but he was faster. Younger, smaller, and faster. He vowed not to stop running until he was out of the forest at last.

"Ha ha," he taunted, his voice echoing through the canoy of trees, "you can't catch me! I promise I'll leave here, so don't you worry!"

And with that said, he gave one last burst of energy and rocketed off through the forest toward the eastern plains of Erymire.


OOC: Apparently having more than one post with one Pokemon isn't allowed. *shurgs* Oh well. I know, I started this post, but you guys can keep on going with it. Btw, you're an awesome RPer, Umby, I love your style. Maybe I should create another charrie so I can RP with you, lol

Ai blinked. The smaller version of herself wanted to know why she was here? Hmm, curious little thing. She smiled. "Well, I'm actually looking for these three pokemon to return to their mother. They ran off and the mom asked me to find them," she answered. That was it. Simple. Of course, the task of finding the three was easier said than done.

((Erm...okay...maybe a hint of GMing there, but if Rai-san is okay with it, I'll let it pass. Junkie-san, you needed to leave, right? So, I'll let it slip this time. ^___^ Happy rping!))

Dagger stood up and nonchalantly shook the dust out of his thick white fur. He turned his broad head in the direction the young Electrike had run off in and snorted. Insolent brat. He thought. The Absol shot a quick glare at the Vulpix who had used Will-o-wisp and growled. Warning her not to try something like that again. Especially not around him. He then turned to the Ninetales and finally spoke. "Why are YOU here?" He asked her; his voice deep, but smooth and calm. "I do not recall giving any of you permission to be in my part of the mountains." Dagger said, giving the Vulpix another quick glare.

(Ooc: ARRGH! I'm sorry it took so long to post!! I couldn't think of anything and when I did...all this stuff happened. I'm sorry.)

[Ren]

Ai stood up, quite miffed that the absol would speak to her in such a manner. Not only did she not like repeating herself, but she saw his name nowhere on the mountain.

"I don't recall you being owner of these parts," Ai replied; she would know, too. She was born here, even though she was a fire-type. Her mother liked to travel, and this is where it happened. She spent some of her younger life here.

(OOC: Actually, if you remember from the games, Vulpix/Ninetales can live in mountainous areas. (ie Mt Pyre in R/S/E ), so it's not unusual for us to be here. =P)

How dare he! she thought. I bet this is why he was fighting with that Electrike!

"You've got some nerve," she said, claws digging into the ground in anger. "If we wanted to do you harm, we had plenty time while you were too busy to give us a second thought!" Sasha then stood, and began to circle behind the Absol. "Another thing," she said smugly, "I don't think you're in a position to threaten us!"

She stared the Absol down, and when he didn't respond, she said triumphantly, "That's what I thought!" She then turned to the Ninetales. "Don't be too easy on him! I wish I could stay and help, but I think I should get going."

With this, Sasha left in the direction she came from.
