Sandy, as she always does, was sleeping in a 3 foot deep hole she made a few hours ago. She kept mummbling in her sleep, "Ugh. . . No. . . . .ah!" Yet, she fell back asleep.
Sandy finally woke up, looking up into the bright sunny day. She growled alittle to the sun, "Dang it! Why soo bright!" Then she curled back into the soft, sandy hole. She turned and turned in the sand of the vast desert she is searching in, to find a new home.

Faya wasn't sure how long she'd been traveling. But by the burning feeling in her paws, she could tell it had been a while. Her soft brow furred tiredly, she slumped down, panting.
"I thought the sun is supposed to make me feel stronger, not toasted."
She muttered. Truly, she felt embarassed. A vulpix being beaten down by the sun? But she was determined not to let that happen, so with a slight tilt of her tail, she was back on all fours, picking up the pace now as the sand slid sinuously from under her paws. That was when she spotted something. A creature moving, around and around it looked like. Maybe it could give her directions! Bounding over, slipping and stumbling along all the way, she came to a clumsy halt by the sandshrew, taking in deep breaths. This wasn't like her, being a tottering mankeey. She was usually so dainty and charming, but maybe it was the sand. Yes, the sand was messing with her mind and stature.
"Hello down there! Excuse me, my name is Faya. I was wondering if you could give me directions to the nearest route out of here."
She said, standing over the hole, looking down at the pokemon inside. She had never seen a pokemon like this. It had a tannish shiny smooth rock-like film along its back and a softer looking skin beneath. Long sharp claws sprouted from Sandy's hands and feet, giving an ominous, almost intimidating expression.

Sandy, still in a light sleep, heard a voice from behind her.She wiggled to the right a bit and then to the left. She was still sleepy yet she was trying to wake herself up by moving alittle bit. The hot sand that would fall into her little hole help out a bit in waking her.
Sandy finally is wake enough to open her eyes and stand up out of the hole. She was no different than any other sandshrew. She used her little claws, to her, her claws are small compared to her father's who was a sandslash, to climb out of the hole. She kicked up a bit of sand on her way out. She stretched out a bit, reaching out in front then to the sky.
She turned around to the pokemon that had talked to her. It was a vulpix. Her lush, brown fur was gleaming in the hot desert sun. Her six tails seemed to be held up by force, as if she was exhausted. Sandy took another look and the pokemon was exhausted. It was struggling to stay firm on the sand as her paws were sinking. Even if she was a fire pokemon, the desert wasn't the best place for her.
"Ugh. . . Hello. . .Sorry but I just woke up," She looked up at the sun, "Why can't you be covered sometimes!" She stared back at the Vulpix and blushed, which came out to a light pink. "Sorry about that, I get grumpy when I wake up."
Sandy then remembered the Vulpix's question, "Oh yeah, I'm Sandy. Sorry but I don't know much of this desert myself. I am trying to find a new home after I left my family. If you want, we can travel together, until we find a way out of this desert."

Faya sulked slightly at the fact that the sandshrew didn't know a way out either. But her ears pricked at the mention of a traveling companion. She couldn't remember the last time she'd journeyed with another pokemon. Maybe they could even grow to be good friends.
"Really? Wow, sure. That's be great."
She smiled, her six tails wagging for once since two days. But then she remembered her predicament. She would need food and water fast. She felt pathetic, a fire pokemon exhausted beneath the sun. She should be drinking in its power, firing up like a charizard. But no, she was slumping about like a snorlax.
"Oh... You left your family too?"
She asked, immediately regretting the question. It had just slipped from her mouth. She herself hadn't left her family. She had been swept away litterally. But she couldn't help but be curious as to why Sandy would leave her home.
