“Wow! I – oh – wow!”
The miniscule skitty was walking alongside the lake, expression that of awe. Her red-brown eyes were bright with excitement, tiny little legs rushing along the shore. “It’s just so BIG! Wow! If Henry saw this, he’d say something like, ‘the blueprints of our world are more wondrous than anything we’ll ever make.’” She sighed a moment, eyes dull with sadness, before perking back up. “I’ve nevereverever seen anything so big!” Tail flicked from side to side, little yellow bits swaying precariously. “It’s so beautiful! It goes on forever!” She sighed, pausing a moment and staring into the enormous blueness. ‘So pretty.’ Eneko thought to herself… and this perfect, peaceful moment was interrupted by –
Her growling stomach.
Eneko winced. That was one thing she hadn’t adapted to in the wild: feeding herself. She’d been feral maybe two weeks, and she’d been living off berries, caterpies, and wurmples. She couldn’t bear to kill something like a ratata when she could hear it talking to its friends – and besides, her dull paws weren’t designed to rip fur! The little feline still winced at the thought. She’d killed the caterpies and wurmples just by crushing them.
At the thought of 'civilized food', Eneko's mmouth actually watered. What she wouldn't do for Meowth Mix! Especially the Miltank, Magikarp, and Pidgey-egg-flavor mix she was so fond of...
and Henry had always poured it into the bowl, laughing when his little skitty perked up from her nap and hurried over.
She frowned. Her tail drooped. The little housepet-gone-wild still hadn’t met anything but her prey and the rodents since she left. It seemed empty out here – worse than a construction site in the middle of the day, when the humans were having their lunch break. Eneko was surrounded by beauty, but without her human, she was completely alone.
