In 2109 the United States began project "Austin" and created the first human-animal hybrids hoping to uncover a military application. After 75 years of research the government dropped funding for the project when an information leak occurred, alerting animal rights activists to the project.
The government released the specimens and offered several things to apologize for the project. Now, some 740 years later, the hybrid community is thriving. Living in the Mars-based complex that housed the Austin project, the hybrids are living a new life.

Initium Novus is a human-animal hybrid roleplay. Members create and take on the role of their own vulpine-, canine-, equine-, or feline-human hybrid (or even hybrids of the hybrids =o), also known as a furries or anthropomorphs. This is a fully literate, mature, and intermediate and above roleplay community rated PG-13+.
