Welcome to Erymire, Brandon..
I am Aurel; one of the local roleplayers with a fondness for writing paragraph responses more than a few sentences. If you want a challenge, try joining the thread rainy made that requires 250+ words per post -- I find it to be rather engaging. It's located in the Mountain Forest..
I think you'll fit in fine here. If you harbor any questions or concerns, feel free to express them and our members would be more than happy to help.
Enjoy.

Great. Erymire is getting some awesome roleplayers, active and literate to a fault. This whole site is getting better and better by the day.
Great. Makes me sad, makes me jealous. I know I'm literate, but on a different level than you guys. There are roleplayers, there are good roleplayers and there are literate roleplayers. Of the literate roleplayers, there are the moderate literates, the advanced literates, and the god-like literates. I am the first, the Moderate literate. You guys are bordering on the god-like literates and it makes me feel...well, jealous. Oh well. I'll just improve and attempt to surpass you people.
Glad you could join Brandon, enjoy your stay.

Aw. That's flattering to read, but I can't say I really deserve it. Just posted once and it wasn't really my best. BUT. I hope to be at full strength within a couple of posts. Don't feel bad about yourself! I read your writing and I liked it a good deal. Mhm. Now, Aurel is up there. Holy smokes, her posts are lusciously-detailed and filled with beautiful description. They really pop and her phrasing is just divine.
But maaaaan. This place is just crawling with characters and I can't wait to throw Moon Thistle among them and see it all mix up! Weee! Fun, fun ahead! I hope we can play soon. <3

Yo Brandon!
I have to say that I read your post and absolutely adored it. Forgive me if I'm wrong but I got a wicked Poe vibe from it. Poe being one of my favorite writers, I consider it a compliment to be anything like him. But that aside, I used to roleplay a long time ago, and am just now starting to get back into the swing of doing it actively. Erymire is tough for me in a sense, I've never been able to find a Pokemon roleplay before. But I'll get up to snuff soon hopefully.
Although I have to ask. What is with the small white centered font that is going around? Is it a font of prestige?

I dunno! I've always used that font on sites with dark backgrounds. And I make it kind of small because I post so much that sometimes, I stretch the screen. So if I make the text small, it doesn't stretch as much. But it does seem to be popular, doesn't it?
I slide it over a bit with the blockquote code so that it appears neater. =)
Ooo. Poe. I think I indirectly channeled him when I made Moon Thistle. That does give me something to think about. Thank you, Punk. That's funny. Like I'm calling you a 'punk.' I'm sure you're not a rascal at all. And if you are, don't be offended. =( I didn't mean it! Fweee.
Yes, I like this place quite a bit.

Hello Brandon. I hope to role play with you soon. I also like to RP in paragraphs, and find it hard to reply to people who do a line or two, though I sometimes run out of things to say. I'll have to read your post since everyone seems to be talking about it, but anyway...
WELCOME!

I blame my literacy on a certain friend of mine that enjoyed RPing via IM messages, and the limitations were crazy -- 150+ words in 120 seconds or something like that. If it wasn't for her, I'd still be stuck typing with no capitalizations, punctuation, or even varied word choice. Writing short stories, novellas, and doing my own RP plots also did me some justice; but enough about how I got to where I am as a Grammar Nazi..
Aeroth, you're spectacular! Everyone on these forums are, so I don't want anyone falling into the assumption that there are elitists on these forums. It's just there are a few members who like multi-paragraph roleplaying, and there are people who believe the short and simple method is suitable (which it is). Personally, both forms have their pros and cons; it's just up to the user to decide which works best for them.
God-like literates? o.O; -coughs- Well. Um..
<3?
Although I have to ask. What is with the small white centered font that is going around? Is it a font of prestige? No, it's just a little something to help the text stand out against this background -- gray on black is just too harsh for my eyes; not to mention small, defined lettering looks remarkable to me. Very professional.
I've been meaning to perhaps change the color though..

Oi. It does look very professional. I was just wondering because three new members used it, wasn't sure if you knew something I didn't. Curious, it's the opposite for me. Small text is some kind of deadly on my eyes. Although, I honestly don't expect any of you to change it. That would be rude, and I would feel awful. :[ Notepad is my best friend when it comes to roleplaying. <3

I used WordPerfect because Microsoft Word didn't come bundled with my Dell all those years ago. But on my laptop, I use... Uh... I don't remember what I use, I think it's Microsoft Works or something like that. I need something with spell check. OH. I think I know what you mean now. Do you copy the posts over into Notepad to read? I do that sometimes!
o.o
Shame? I think anyone who's brave enough to publicly express himself creatively deserves to be praised and encouraged. You're great Fires and Rivers and as a fellow writer, I have nothing but love and respect for you. <3 Fweee.

Haha! Yes. That's what I mean. I'll copy and paste somebody's post onto it, then open up another to type my response. It's font is simple, easy to read, and void of the distractions of the rest of the website. Dyslexia would get the best of me without it.
I'm very excited to hear somebody else does the same thing. It really can be useful sometimes. ;]

Haha. How cool is that? Such a random thing, but we have it in common. Just goes to show you that on the inside, we're all really quite similar despite our outward differences. Yay world unity.

Ha. So much talk about posts and such (and posting techniques). I always type my posts on Microsoft Word before placing them on here. But that's beside the point. I absolutely adore your post, Brandon! I'm not very good at posting, but pretty much everyone in this thread is exquisite.
Oh yeah, welcome to the site. <3

Well, we all have our own opinions about our RP'ing level and those of others. Let's just say that everyone here is a pleasure to work with, regardless of style or length.

You know, after reading your introduction and all of it's responces, it can only remind me of one thing. Other posters who just post what their characters say, short and to the point. Maybe a line, ussually half of one, that are hard to reply to with seven paragraphs. Think of what these less-posters think when you dwarf their half a line of post. I think it would progress something like this.
Man looks at seven paragraph post. . . "wow. . .I just got Pwnd. . . NUTS! NUTS!!!! NUTS!!!!!" He would say as he pounds his keyboard in frustration, and woolah his head explodes, and he has his own two lines of responce already done. Amazing what a little keyboard pounding can do. Just click 'post reply' and he is done.
I actually don't know where that came from. I don't even remember thinking anything about that. Weird. . . I don't think that is supposed to happen.

Oh man. How many times have I thrashed my keyboard in frustration? A lot. A loooooooooooooooooot. That made me picture those times and laugh. I think it's important to laugh, to look back, and to laugh again.
Fweeee.
