Claiming a perch atop a jagged rock, Hibou took a moment scan his surroundings. The sun was slowly sinking behind the great Western Mountain Range, tinting the skies with soft hues of gold and orange. Night would soon blanket these lands, and Hibou would only just be starting his day.
After stretching the stiffness from his tired old wings, Hibou abandoned his perch and fluttered to rest on the bank of a fresh water stream. Dipping his beak into the rushing water, he helped himself to a few greedy gulps to quench his thirst. Straightening up, he shook the water from his feathers and took a quick second to preen. He paused abruptly when his ear caught, what sounded like, movement in the brambles.
"Who's there?" The old owl hooted, unsure of whether or not he should retreat to his perch. Not long before this present time, Hibou had found himself beak to beak with a few rather unpleasant members of his kind. He had -barely- managed to escape them. Had they followed him all the way here?

Mudds got scared and cried "Don't hurt me!" to the Noctowl. He was a skimmish, lonely Grimmer.

A young Poochyena was sprawled out hidden underneath a small patch of vegetation. The dog like Pokemon was almost completely motionless except the slow waves of it's breathing. It had been a long day for this worn out pooch so he had decided to catch a few rays before using the nighttime veil for hunting.
He was entirely enveloped in his dreams, fresh in his mind were memories of yesterday's battle. A furious Absol chased him into the Western Mountains after catching him trying to swipe one of her kits in broad daylight. Not one of the Poochyena's most intelligent moments, but he was famished. The kits would have been easy prey if their protective mother had not been around. The red eyes of an Absol were haunting his dreams, and a paw brushed against the ground as he tried to run from it.
The sharp hoot of a Noctowl snapped the Poochyena out of his dreams. Although he was thankful to have been woken up, he instantly put himself on guard. Gray ears stood erect as he listened intently for any other sounds in the forest. His red eyes peered through the thin branches of the brush taking note of the Grimer and Noctowl in front of him.

Blinking his yellow eyes in surprise, Hibou stared down at the Grimer. The muddy-looking Pokemon seemed to be afraid of the big owl. "Nothing to fear, sonny boy." He hooted in reply, ruffling his chest feathers. "I thought you were one of those hoodlums, trying to play tricks on me." He explained. Still, Hibou thought he could sense another presence...

The Poochyena named Dormin continued watching through the bush's branches as the Noctowl spoke to the Grimer. Seeing a sludge Pokemon in an area that is almost entirely without pollution was unusual, his eyes followed the trail of dead grass that the Grimer had just walked on. His sensitive nose caught wind of the pungent odor it was emitting, and he let out a snort before jolting out of the bushes.
He ran over to the other side of the pair with his fangs bared at them and ears standing straight up. True to it's nature, he would bite anything that moved. Though it was not the most intelligent of moves to threaten a much older and more experienced bird Pokemon, even threatening the Grimer was a mistake. All it knew was Howl and Tackle, neither of which would be much use against a Pokemon who didn't have a solid form.

Beauty. It was simple, single word that could describe the female now trotting across the land. Her delicate paws touched the soft compost for but a moment at a time, and her tail swung temperately behind her. She knew very well that any place was dangerous, and she was well aware that any Pokemon would stumble upon her and think that she was then his to harm or befriend. But her gentle looks fooled many. Vixen was quite capable of defending herself; but it didn't really seem like it. She appeared an angel; sweet and gorgeous with her sleek brown pelt and soft amber eyes. She was the opposite of her harsh, cruel friend. She hadn't seen him in years since he destroyed her entire family. She was the only survivor beside Amoraq and he didn't even know she was alive. It was a good thing, probably; because if he knew she was still dwelling on the Earth, he'd take care of it, no doubt. Vixen had even heard of the new Horde that was spawning darkness and hate amongst the lands, and she just knew he was part of something like that. She missed him, though; for they'd been so close when they were little. She often sparred with him, and she always won. She still could, but she had no intention of crossing paths with him again. It would be awful if she did, and she was aware that only one of them would walk out breathing. It would be bloody and terrible, and Vixen just wasn't willing to do that. Despite Amoraq's frozen heart and devious ways, Artemis would still love her friend; but he would hate her, she was sure.
The smells hit her before the noise did. Others. But the sound of grass rustling at no specific pace started to irritate her. Lips rose above her sharp fangs in a quiet snarl as her hackles raised. Were they planning to ambush her or something? Well, if they were, they were doing a pretty awful job. Or maybe thye was lost? Vixen sighed heavily before picking up her steady pace towards the source. When she eventually reached them, she felt a wave of relaxation spread over her. Not a single one of them seemed hostile, and she suppressed another sigh; but this time one of relief. She had been alone for so long, and she barely talked to anyone. They didn't look too threatening, so she slowly brought her lithe legs towards the group. She moved in a swift, fluid movement until she was a few feet from them, halting a few feet away from the Grimer. Her large ears flickered a bit as her eyes watched them intently. A smile slowly formed on her attractive facade as she took a hesitant step forwards. "Hello." She greeted, her words gentle and feminine. The female tilted her head to the side while her warm eyes stayed fixed on their own features. She quietly waited for a response from either of them..
(Sorry it's so short. I only had ten minutes and I had writer's block. : ( )

Bruno walked along the mountain, alone as usual. He almost expected to become used to being alone but he hadn't yet. The only thing he wanted was a friend. There would always be plenty of food and water and shelter for him but no matter how hard he tried he just couldn't make any friends.
Maybe it was because he was almost constantly traveling from one place to another. Every pokemon needed to have a home right? Bruno just never felt at home anywhere though. Maybe that was why he was always traveling. Maybe deep down Bruno just wanted a place to call home, friends, and a family. Bruno shook the thoughts out of his head for now. The only thing that he really needed was a drink. He had been traveling for a while and needed a place to lie down and rest. In the distance he saw a stream. The water looked cool and clear so he headed walked toward the stream.
As he got closer he could hear the voices of other pokemon. He gripped his club tightly, unsure of whether the pokemon were friends or foes. Bruno hoped that they weren't hostile because only knowing Growl and Tail Whip made it difficult for him to defend himself.

Mudds stopped crying. Than he saw the young Eevee that came up to him. “Hello I’m Mudds.” Mudds said to the Pokemon. He thought he could make good friends with the Eevee.

When Bruno made it to the stream he saw that none of the pokemon seemed to be hostile and he loosened his grip. He flashed a quick smile at the group before he sat down on at the stream. Carefully he set his club down beside him. The bone was his mother's femur. It was the only thing he had to remind him of her. Bruno carried it with him because he thought it would bring him good luck and protect him from those that would harm him and so far it was working.
He cupped his hands and brought the sparkling water to his lips. It tasted crisp and clear. He drank from the stream until his thirst was quenched. Then he picked up his club and just started staring at the water. The scene was gorgeous, the way the setting sun reflected off of the stream was a sight he hoped that he would never forget.

As soon as the new scents of other Pokemon reached Dormin's nose, his lips closed over his teeth and his lowered his body to the ground in a submissive position. There was more Pokemon here than he could handle at the moment. Since he was only two years old, he was still classified as a puppy and felt uncomfortable surrounded. His dark colored body quickly jolted behind the large Noctowl. The fact that this Pokemon was older lead him to believe that he would be less likely to feel threatened by the Poochyena.
A black masked face peeked out from behind the brown colored owl Pokemon. From a distance he watched the almost shy Grimer speak to the elegant Eevee. As he studied their facial expressions and movement, he determined that both of them appeared to be exceptionally friendly. But this brief moment of ease was ceased abruptly when his ears caught the faint sound of movement near the water. His eyes darted to the left to catch sight of a Cubone casually quenching his thirst.
Dormin looked up at the normally nocturnal owl he was hiding behind. It was a strange sight to see. Most Hoothoots and Noctowl waited until after dark to start their 'day' so to speak. A quick glance at the sky indicated that the sun was only just setting. The warm hues were just starting to spread out across the entire sky. Not feeling like bothering the other Pokemon, the Poochyena laid down on his belly leaving his hind legs sprawled out behind him as his head rested on his front paws.

Bruno continued to watch the sun set. He had seen a good amount of them in his short lifetime but this one was different. It was almost as if this was a marking of a new era for him. He let his mind wander as he watched the scene. Bruno wondered what it would have been like to actually have a mother. He knew he had one but he never knew her, like all Cubones.
"What was my mother like?" he thought. Bruno stared at the water hoping that somehow it would be able to answer him. It didn't so he turned his eyes back to the sunset.
"This is beautiful," he said to know one in particular. Bruno set his club in his lap. Now that he was done drinking Bruno felt that it would be safer with him then on the ground.

Bruno turned his head when he heard another pokemon approaching. It was a pichu probably about his own level. He had seen the same lonely expression the Pichu was wearing whenever Bruno saw his own reflection. Bruno stood up and took his club in his hand. He walked over to the Pichy.
"Hi," he said cheerfully with a warm smile on his face.

The Noctowl had observed the arrivals of several pokemon in silence, grinding his beak and tilting his head sharply as if in deep thought. 'Where did they all come from so suddenly?' Only moments ago, he had been sipping from the stream, completely alone. Now, he was up to his crest feathers in Pokemon. He scanned their faces with wise yellow eyes. A Grimer, an Eevee, a Poochyena, a Cubone and a Pichu; what a colorful bunch of characters!
Turning his head completely backward, Hibou examnined the young Poochyena, who had taken cover behind him. "Hello, my boy." The owl hooted. "Are you hiding back there?" He questioned, curious as to the reason for this behavior.

The Poochyena was sprawled out on the ground, his head still resting between his front paws. He looked through the corner of his eye at the newly arrived Pichu and watched the small mouse like Pokemon wander around in search of companionship. Then was mildly interested once the Cubone approached the electric mouse. This group couldn't nearly be as dangerous as he thought.
Dormin picked up his head and looked up at the Noctowl who was now speaking to him. After shoving his hind legs underneath him he rose to a stand before plopping back onto his rump in a clumsy sit. "Hello, Mister Owl. No, I'm not hiding." Dormin said in a vain attempt to sound brave, although he was lying through his teeth. All the Pokemon suddenly showing up startled the puppy.
"My name's Dormin!" The Poochyena stated, his eyes shut tight and muzzle curved into a smile. A fluffy gray tail wagging slowly.

Night had come quickly onto this little Stunky, and Violet Rose shivered slightly, not liking to be out in the cold and the night so much. She could be seen as prey, by some types of pokemon. But her poison nature would make them think twice. Her family had warned her about the dangers, over a year ago when she left. They had been trying to frighten her into staying home. Home.. A place desolate and lonely. Where there was few other Pokemon, save for her family. She wanted more out of the world. But for so long she had been wandering, finding very little. But now... Her nose catches the scents of other pokemon. Plural.
She's a bit afraid, but she's come to far to go home. So she walks, keeping to the shadows until she came to a thatch of brambles, and in there she quickly climbs, ignoring the sharp tugs the brambles give her fur. Her eyes gaze out at the gathered pokemon, bright with curiosity and a bit of fear. She's never been THIS close to other pokemon, outside her family before. Its kinda scary...

While waiting for the young Pichu to talk Bruno saw some movement out of the corner of his eye. It was a female Stunky. She seemed frightened by the large group of pokemon that was in the area. He wanted to make her feel welcome, even though Bruno didn't know any of the pokemon and the only one he had spoken to hadn't responded to him yet.
"Hello," he said smiling widely to her.

Bruno saw a dark figure moving in the distance.
"Could it be...." he thought to himself. The figure seemed familiar but Bruno couldn't tell for sure whether or not it was who he thought. There was only one way to find out.
"Bye," he said to the others as he walked away. Once he was out of sight he started running. Bruno had to see if he was right.
