It's been three years since the events of 'The Last Stand' and mutants staying at the X Mansion have had something of a 'normal life for the time being. Nothing exceedingly odd seems to have happened, though they had quite a nice surprise when Cyclops returned to them, apparently unharmed. No-one questioned his reappearance ... They had never found his body when he was supposedly dead afterall and they were ecstatic when Xavier got in touch with them from his new body on Muir Island - he has since returned to normal with the help of Lelandra, an alien from outer space - or rather a Shi'ar Empress.
But can things truly continue getting better and better for the X-Men and their fellow mutants? Especially with Weapon X on the move again, training both humans and mutants alike to 'exterminate' the race in which they hate so much. Things can't get any better with the birth of a new organisation either; The Phantoms. They hide in the shadows until an oppurtune moment arrives ... And then they strike. Hunting down Mutants is their hobby. Can the X-Men cope with these new threats? Or will they finally be destroyed for good? And just who is that woman knocking on the mansion's doors? She looks just like Jean ... And has no memory of her past.
