The absol continued walking as she answered. "All kinds. Gungo berries, vera vines, the list goes on," she replied.
The trio continued walking until they came upon a cave-like structure, formed from the roots of the trees. The inside was lined with leaves. "Home, sweet, home."

Rappella saw the inviting cave, but what she really wanted was the food. "Where's the food?" She looked at Aeroth, then at the absol. "Oh. And what's your name?"

"Oh, I'm Trompa. Are you hungry? I'll go get us a gungo berry," replied Trompa as she disappeared for a few moments. She returned with a gungo berry before splitting it open with a slash.

Rappella looked at the giant red fruit that was easily big enough to house her and her brother with room to spare if its skin were hollowed out. "That's...big."

Trompa took a bite and began to chew. She swallowed before replying, "It's sweet. Dig in."

Rappella had to reach up on her hinds to get her face close to the pulp. She bit into it, and tasted the sweetness. "Mmmm." She ate more, and pretty soon her face and front paws were wet with the juice. She sat down to rest herself from all that hind-leg standing.

Aeroth followed the white-coated Absol, his eyes starting to droop and his tail sagging. His earlier bravado that erupted from a desire to protect his sister had all but evaporated as the moon continued through its majestic arc through the sky, becoming faint with the rising sun in the east. Aeroth had never seen the sun before, he had been in the den his parents had carved out for them to live safely, and when he did venture out, he ony saw the crescent silver disc through the thick canopy and scattering clouds. They had arrived at the Absol's home, long after Aeroth's stomach cried out violently for sustenance. It seemed the young Eevee pup had only eaten a matter of hours ago, but his metabolism was fast, being young, and his mother's creamy goodness had all been absorbed into his system, leaving him empty.
The she-creature, who introduced herself as Trompa (Aeroth tilted his head at the weird name), seemed friendly enough. Her den resembled the home he once shared with Aqua, Volt, Flare and Rapella, and the home he hoped to once again inhabit. The massive fruit was brought out, and Aeroth, his drive for food outweighing his desire for rest, padded over to the other side of the half that his sister was eating out of. He made sure he had watched the Absol eat first, for a reason he didn't quite understand himself, but he eventually dug in like one starved, which he was. When Rapella ate her fill and landed back on the ground with all four paws, the balance of the berry was upset and Aeroth found himself falling backwards, followed immediately by complete and utter darkness
The Gungo berry had fallen on top of him, incasing the black-tipped Eevee youth in the sweet and succulent cacoon on fruit. Aeroth let out a startled yip and attempted to ram the the fruit, with no affect. The aroma of the berry was intoxicating, and despite his resistance, the darkness and the sweet scent, as well as the security of the berry's shell, Aeroth fell fast asleep.

"Aeroth..." Rappella saw that her brother had become trapped underneath the bowl of the fruit's husk. She was too tired to do anything about it, but at least he had enough air in there. "Can you get my brother out?" she asked Trompa.

"Oh, you silly little eevee, you," commented Trompa. She lifted one paw and knocked the berry over, revealing Aeroth. "I think now is an appropriate time to sleep."

(Can't really think of anything to reply to)
What a silly little Absol. Aeroth, being sound asleep, could not possibly have heard Trompa's remark about sleeping. His chest rose and fell rhythmatically, and occasionally his fluffy, black-tipped tail twitched and his legs moved as if to simulate running. Aeroth didn't want to fall asleep, despite the physical and mental exhaustion he felt after staying up longer than just about any Eevee pup had been awake before, he just wanted to protect Rapella.

"Okay." Rappella didn't really have the strength to protest anymore. She curled up next to Aeroth, who smelled, like her, very much of gungo juice, and went to sleep.

OOC: Aeroth, it's nighttime.
Trompa stare up at the radiant moon before lifting the eevee kits and putting them in the den. "Such angels," she commented with tears in her eyes. She didn't join them in their slumber. Instead, she looked in all directions, as though scanning for something. She then dashed off into the night.
Trompa ran through the forest until she came upon a small clearing. A large mightyena leaped out of the shadows. It glared Trompa in the eye, "Well?"
Trompa trembled, "Two eevee kits."
"Kits!?" barked the mightyena, "Do you want your daughter or not?"
"Please, there're two of them," pleaded Trompa.
The mightyena sighed, "Well, I suppose a deal's a deal."
With that, another mightyena brought forth a small, young, female absol. She appeared cut and bruised.
"Oh, thank you," replied Trompa.
The mightyena ran off in the direction Trompa had come from with drool dripping from his jaw. His intentions were clear.

Aeroth, for some reason, couldn't sleep well. His dreams were always being interrupted by a feeling of dream, the same dread he felt when he finally understood his other sister, Aqua, was in trouble from the Pigeot. The young Eevee's eyes fluttered open, only to shut them immediately afterward: he was staring directly into the sun. He shifted his position, but nomatter what he did, he couldn't go back to sleep. Getting frustrated, Aeroth stood and yawned, stretching his whole body and fluffing out his fur in the process.
He looked around in the sunlight, the cave was at his back, and the forest was before him. They were alone, there was nobody nearby, aside from his sister, sleeping peacefully in a pocket of sunshine. Aeroth didn't want to disturb her, so he explored the cave. It was bigger than the one he had been in his whole life...until now. The ground seemed softer, more worn and the atmosphere was so much cooler. He thought of just going back to sleep here, but something was nagging at him. Trompa was nowhere to be found. Aeroth didn't want to follow her in the first place, but he followed his sister.
It was now that he remembered his dream. Not really, being young his dream didn't really take the form of anything, or at least nothing he could remember, but he still felt that dread deep in his chest. He didn't know what it meant, but he no longer wanted to be here. The young Eevee moved to his sister's prone form and bent over her, whispering in her ear. "Wake up, we go now" He had no idea where they were going, just that they needed to be away from here.

OOC: It's still nighttime.
"Rappella! Aeroth!" yelled Sombra, looking for the two eevee kits. He looked into the moonlight. He had a strong connection to the moon, even in a strange dimension.
Meanwhile, the mightyena raced through the night. Within minutes, he had reached the den. His mouth salivated as he fantasized of the tender eevee meat.
Sombra continued. He stopped. He smelled something. Something familiar. It was the scent of his eevee kits, but a strange scent was in the mix. "Rappella! Aeroth!" he cried as he dashed forward. He came upon the den and halted, as he was staring into the face of a hungry mightyena.

Rappella awoke. It was strange, being in this den with just her brother. "Where's Trompa? Yes...let's go." She hadn't expected Trompa to just up and leave them here. It was strange. She padded to the edge of the den and qsaw the huge wolf blocking her way. She screamed and tried to run out past him, between his feet.

The mightyena took a snap at Rappella. Suddenly, he was knocked on his side.
It was Sombra's take down. "Keep your grubby paws from my daughter!"
The mightyena wasn't going to take this lightly. He pounced on Sombra, who rolled on his back upon collision. The mightyena lay atop Sombra.
The two were literally at each other's throats. They bit and clawed for dear life. Sombra managed to pull all of his weight in and rolled atop the ravenous beast.
The mightyena was much larger than Sombra and kicked him off with ease.
Sombra flew several feet and crashed into a tree. He fell to the ground with a thud, half conscious.

"DADDY!" Rappella screamed as she saw her father thrown through the air into the tree. He had come to save her and it was all her fault. She ran to him and nudged his head, then licked his face. "Daddy WAKE UP!"

The mightyena saw Aeroth and Rappella as easy targets, but he wasn't going to let Sombra live after the brawl that had just taken place. He dashed forward, aiming to ram Sombra into the tree with a take down of his own.
Sombra saw the charging mightyena and rose to his feet without thought. He grabbed Rappella and leaped out of harm's way.
The mightyena was all brawn and no brain. He blindly ignored Sombra's dodge and continued charging. He crashed head-first into the tree. The collision left him dazed. He stumbled on his four legs, losing balance.
Sombra saw this as a weak point and leaped at the mightyena with an iron tail. He hit the mightyena on the top of his head, between his ears.
The weakened mutt fell on its side, unconscious. Its tongue hung from his jaw, still soaked with saliva.
Sombra breathed heavily as he turned to Rappella, "What... happened..."

Aeroth stood frozen as the battle ensued, he was terrified. Trompa had left to be replaced by this fiersome beast. They were terribly lucky their father came to the rescue. Aeroth's heartbeat slowed when he saw that the Mighteyena wasn't moving. He moved forward, inspecting the unconscious black form, sniffing it to see if it would move. When it didn't Aeroth lifted his leg and left his liquid mark before trotting over to his sister like he was the best thing in the world. He sniffed his sister and nuzzled her. "You kay?" He asked.
Only then did he turn to Sombra, a look of mistrust in his eyes. He was the reason Rapella left, or at least that was what Rapella felt, and Aeroth would stick with her. "No yell Papa. No yell."

Rappella was still getting up from being put to the ground a little roughly just before her father had attacked the mightyena. She was shaking all over. "You're alive...you're alive!" She looked up at her dad, her eyes glittering with tears.

Sombra felt like hitting Rappella for her ignorance, but he could tell she was sorry for her actions, "Mommy's worried sick about you two. Let's get you home."
Sombra was interrupted as Trompa returned with a young, injured looking absol. She looked shocked at the sight of Sombra, but even more shocked at the sight of the unconscious mightyena. "What is going on here?"
Sombra assumed this to be the absol Rappella mentioned, "Who might you be?"
"I live here," replied Trompa.
"Might you explain to me why my children were NEARLY KILLED!?" yelled Sombra.
Trompa began to tear, "Please, I can explain. I lost my son to a pack of mightyena a few years ago. Just recently, the same pack attacked while I was away. They killed my mate and nearly killed my daughter. I pleaded them to give me my daughter back. They said they would if I could find them a new victim. I apologize for involving you in this."
Sombra leaped at Trompa with a take down.
Trompa was knocked on her side.
Sombra stood on her, hyperventilating, "You were better off letting them kill your daughter."
"Please! Don't kill me!" pleaded Trompa, "You have children! You know what parenthood is like! Wouldn't you do anything for your children?"
Sombra began to realize he may just be killing an innocent pokemon. He knew Trompa didn't mean to hurt his kits, but his fatherly instincts drove him to push forward.

Aeroth watched on in silence, he was actually rather afraid of his father and part of him didn't really want to go back now, despite what Rapella wanted...still he would follow his sister. He moved forward, examining the Absol. He never really trusted her from the beginning, and he didn't really understand what was going on, but he suspected she wasn't such a good person. But she was crying, his father was making her cry, so she couldn't be all that bad. He bent down and licked Trompa before looking up at his father, begging him to stop with his large, innocent eyes.

Sombra could tell his son didn't like seeing him so violent. Sombra knew he seemed scary, but it was for the good of the family.
The daughter of Trompa pleaded, "Please! Don't hurt my mommy!"
Sombra could see the sorrow he was causing. He put himself in Trompa's place. He imagined what it would be like living as her. Sombra's family had almost been torn apart that night, and now he was doing the very same to Trompa's already torn family. He closed his eyes and sighed, "Very well." Sombra removed himself from Trompa and crept close to his kits.
Trompa got to her feet, "Thank you. You are a truly good pokemon."
Sombra growled, "Don't let my mercy lead you to think I care for you. I'm letting you live because you have a family to care for. Were it not for that, I would slaughter you like the creature you are for what you almost did to my children." Sombra turned to his children, "Let's go home."

"But--what did Trompa do?" Rappella had been horrified at the fact that her father had nearly killed her new friend. "She didn't do anything Daddy! She was goned when the bad pokemon came." Rappella started to walk home, alongside her dad. She wasn't going to protest going back to the den. It was where she most wanted to be. She especially missed her mother.
