Name of species: Dead-fire Charmander
Elemental type{s}: Fire, Dark
Size: Avg. 3’00”
Method of reproduction: Sexual; Eggs
Appearance: Normally these variants of charmander do not hold the typical orange that their relatives have. Quite often instead they will carry a darker shade of color such as dark green, dark blue, and maroon which are the most common colors amongst this variant. Other colors are possible, yet are quite rare such as yellow, orange (such as a normal charmander), purple, and bright red. The underbelly of each of these Pokémon tend to be of lighter coloration than the rest of their skin, but not by much, just enough for one to notice from a close distance. Lastly, the tail-flame tends to follow the same color scheme as the body where the darker color makes up the outer layer of the flame while the underbelly color makes up the inner flame.
Description: A few differences between this variant and the original species are:
-Inability to use any flame-based attacks
-Increased agility and strength in upper body; differences noticeable but not huge
-Slightly increased resistance to water-based attacks, yet still vulnerable
Disposition: Mildly Passive
Habitat: This Pokémon can live in most places; they prefer volcanic or mountainous regions. The only known concentration of the Dead-fire species is located within the Fortress.
What does this Pokémon eat? : Primarily carnivorous; but enjoys fruit when possible.
How common is this Pokémon? : Outside of the Fortress, none; within the Fortress, there is a concentration of about 1 out of every 25 charmander on average are born of the Dead-fire variant. Just because a charmander is born with a coloration difference DOES NOT mean that they are of the Dead-fire sub-species.
Name of species: Dead-fire Charmeleon
Elemental type{s}: Fire, Dark
Size: Avg. about 4’ 6”
Method of reproduction: Sexual; Eggs
Appearance: Charmeleon; same coloring as from charmander stage. No large structure differences from the original.
Description: Differences between original and variant:
-Reduced ability to use flame-based attacks; normal potency but limited stamina.
-Increased upper and lower body strength along with agility; differences noticeable but not huge
-Average increase in water resistance, apparent in comparison between the variant and original
Disposition: Slightly Aggressive; their deficiencies discourage combat
Habitat: This Pokémon can live in most places; they prefer volcanic or mountainous regions. The only known concentration of the Dead-fire species is located within the Fortress.
What does this Pokémon eat?: Primarily carnivorous; but enjoys fruit when possible.
How common is this Pokémon?: This Pokémon is quite rare, the ratio of deadfire charmeleon to charmander falls more on the side of the charmeleon, due to the fact that one doesn’t have to be a deadfire charmander in order to evolve into a deadfire charmeleon.
Evolution: The only other route to becoming a deadfire charmeleon is for a charmander that has been shadowed (achieved by being part of the Horde for a lengthened period of time) to use an evolution stone that is heavily corrupted by the Shadow Lord’s power.
NOTE: If the charmander is aligned with the Light, then they will absorb the dark energy upon use and become a regular charmeleon and the energy will overwhelm their mind, forcing them join the Horde.
Name of species: Soulflame Charizard
Elemental type{s}: Fire, Dark
Size: Avg. 7’0”
Method of reproduction: Sexual; Eggs
Appearance: Once again, color scheme carries over from previous stages. The first and most noticed feature of this sub-species is their lack of wings, their bodies for some strange reason during evolution didn’t develop wings. There hasn’t been a soulflame charizard with wings.* Also the sub-species’ horns tend to be pointed instead of blunt like normal charizard; along with the horns, there are other spikes running down the spine, continuing to the tail-flame.
Description: Differences between regular and variant:
-No wings
-Lithe body, a relatively thinner build than a normal
-Great improvement in fire-based attacks
-Lack of weakness to electric (no flying type)
-Upper body strength a little more defined than normal; power to vault oneself into the air isn’t diminished or strengthened
Disposition: Aggressive; due to the gain of the ability to defend and attack powerfully
Habitat: This Pokémon can live in most places; they prefer volcanic or mountainous regions. The only known concentration of the Dead-fire species is located within the Fortress.
What does this Pokémon eat?: Primarily carnivorous; but enjoys fruit when possible.
How common is this Pokémon?: The soulfire charizard variant is quite uncommon, not as rare as the charmander stage of this variant, but rarer than the charmeleon stage, mostly due to the fact that a deadfire charmeleon, nor regular charmeleon can use a fire stone to evolve into a soulflame charizard.
The inability to evolve from deadfire/regular charmeleon to soulflame charizard via corrupted evolution stone is due to the fact that the increase in flame strength is the result of the slow altering process that takes place during a deadfire charmeleon’s existence; the body begins to slowly change during the period of time, hence the limited use of fire. If that process is cut short in any way, the deadfire charmeleon won’t be able to evolve into a soulflame charizard. This is why any normal charmeleon cannot become a soulflame charizard, nor can a deadfire charmeleon can use a corrupted fire stone to evolve into a soulflame.
